The UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw took place today and the draws is scary. Maybe this is why this league is called "Champions League". Though Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool were all delivered with highly favourable draws but Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will have less cause to celebrate.

Chelsea appear to have been delivered the trickiest task as they were drawn against Spanish Giants Barcelona and will play at the Nou Camp in the second leg for the first time since they triumphed in the semi-finals on their way to winning the Champions League in 2012.

Barcelona will not relish facing Chelsea, either, although the English club will be kicking themselves. Had they won their group they would be facing Shakhtar Donestk, who have been drawn with Roma. That is the more reason why winning a group in Champions League preliminary stages is still the ultimate.

For Spurs the reward for winning their group is a first meeting in European competition with last season’s finalists, Juventus, who are currently only third in Serie A but have a rich pedigree of success in this competition. Spurs, as a group winner, will play their second leg at home, at Wembley.

According to New Telegraph UK, the draw was far more kind to United who were paired with Sevilla, who finished second in Liverpool’s group, and who they have never faced before. Liverpool were drawn against Porto, while City will be pleased that they will face Basel, with the Swiss runners-up to United in their group.

The showpiece draw of the round is undoubtedly the holders Real Madrid, who were runners-up to Spurs, against Paris Saint-Germain give the scale, ambition and squads the clubs have. Not least with Kylian Mbappe having chosen PSG ahead of Real last summer. There will be nervousness at PSG that their coach, Unai Emery, has never won at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The match between PSG and Madrid is termed "The Money Match" considering how much both clubs have spent on players in recent times.

Six women have been arrested by Imo State Police Command for child trafficking. According to reports, these women specialize in Kidnapping children from churches and selling them to their respective clients.

The suspects arrested include Ijeoma Eboka, Irene Ogbuehi, Chinyere Mark, Perpetua Dike, Lilian Asoluka, Grace Ogueri and Edith Ejiaga, as it was gathered that the leader of the gang, 32-year-old Nnenna Njoku uses her 10-year-old daughter, Chinecherem Onyejiaka, to lure children out of churches and homes.

Speaking to Punch correspondent, the State’s Police PRO, Andrew Enwerem, said the number of children missing in the prime suspect’s area of operation was nine.

“The prime suspect confessed to stealing three children. The other suspects were arrested and they made confessional statements, which led to the recovery of three children – Ezinne Nwosu (4), Chimjindum Felix (3),and Rejoice Ezirim (3).

“I Became Pregnant After 4 Arab Men Raped Me” - Libya Returnee's Shocking Experience

Loveth Ekumabo is a 25-year-old Libya returnee and she has blamed her father’s incestuous behaviour for her decision to flee to Libya, at least, for safety from her father; also in search of greener pasture.

The fate of Edo-born Ms. Ekumabo can best be likened to the character of King Odewale in Ola Rotimi’s “The gods are not to blame”, who was to kill his father in order to marry his own mother.

Her case was jumping from frying pan into fire. She has, in her life, gone through bitterness, especially her stay in faraway Libya, where she underwent forced labour and was made a subject of serial rape.

Ms. Ekumabo, from Uhunwode Local Government Area, is one of the hundreds of Edo indigenes that have been repatriated from Libya. They are currently in the custody of the state government undergoing rehabilitation for effective integration into society.

Aside her traumatic experience during the seven-month sojourn in the North Africa country, pregnant Ms. Ekumabo, may have to live with the pain of not knowing the father of her unborn child.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, she cursed all those who raped her in Libya, including her biological father, whose incestuous action at home, she claimed, was responsible for her present predicament.

Narrating her ordeal, Ms. Ekumabo said her father’s attempted acts of incest, drove her to Libya.

She alleged that the exposure of her father’s attempted incestuous relationship with her resulted into a big family row.

”After I exposed what my father wanted to do to me, fight broke out at home and I had to run away for my safety. “I went to stay with my friend who introduced me to the man that helped people to Europe. ”I did not have any money, I was made to swear to an oath in a shrine in Benin that I will pay back every kobo when I get to Europe.

”We agreed that I will pay back N200,000. I left Benin for Kano in April, 2017. From Kano we were transported in a Hilux truck through the dessert with no food and water to Agadez in Niger and from there to Tripoli in Libya.

”If you want to cross from Agadez to Tripoli without money you either get raped as a girl or get beaten up as a boy. The agency can also sell you out as slaves to get their money before you are allowed to cross to Tripoli with your new owner.

“I saw dead people; boys being killed; girls raped to death; and people sold as slaves. “The worst part is that Nigerians are among those Arabs who treat fellow Nigerians badly. ”It was while I was about to cross to Tripoli that four Arab men raped me continuously without stop. After which I was allowed to cross to Tripoli where I discovered that I was pregnant.

”The Church where Nigerians worship in Tripoli advised me to go back to Nigeria since I cannot do any other work here now that I am pregnant. Sounding confused, Ms. Ekumabo said she did not get any comfort and words of encouragement from her immediate family. Her biological mother forbade her to return home empty handed.

“When I called my family that I was coming back, my mother asked them to tell me to stay back and try my best to cross to Europe. “But I said to myself that since she was not the one who sent me to Libya, she has no right to tell me to cross to Europe,” she said.

She explained that the Edo State has advised her to keep the pregnancy and has promised to give her accommodation where she will stay and be delivered of the baby.

Police Arrest A Heartless Lady Who Buried Her 3 Months Old Baby Alive Just To Marry A Rich Man

What kind of heartlessness is this. A Togolese woman has been arrested for allegedly burying her 3-month old son alive right after meeting a rich man who promised to marry her.

According to reports, the woman didn’t want her rich lover to know that she had a child, so she decided to get rid of her baby, by cold-heartedly torturing him by buring him alive in a shallow grave.

She was exposed when the boy’s father came looking for his son and she made several lame excuses as to his whereabouts. After so much pressure from the baby daddy’s family, she confessed to her crime and took them to the location where she buried her son.

She has been arrested already and currently in police custody.

The much awaited TSTv decoder is finally here. The waiting time is finally over. Management of the indigenous Satellite TV on Friday said the TStv decoders would be in the market from next week. Mr Ernest Essien, the TStv’s Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in Abuja.

Essien said the company had concluded arrangement to roll out its commercial decoders from next week after the successful test run of its promo decoders distributed before November 1. He said that the service provider was committed to making sure that all the intending customers should have their decoders before Christmas.

“We are almost done with our test transmission and we are just putting some finishing touches and hopefully by the grace of God, between now and next week the decoders will be out for sale. “We are informing Nigerians that they must enjoy their Christmas with their decoders. So before Christmas, the decoders will be everywhere in the market.

“Everything is in place we have done everything we needed to do before coming out and I want to let you know that TStv is still on course.’’

Essien reiterated that the price of TStv decoder would remain at the initial N5,000 with all the packages promised, adding that there would be additional surprise packages for its customers. He said that the management had decided to keep the packages secret until the decoders were rolled out.

“We will display all the packages accordingly but the one we can assure you now is that the price will not change, it remains N5,000. “We are trying to see how we can make it simple and easy for every Nigerian to be able to afford it.

“We are keeping our promises on the channels and all the channels including BEing Sports channels are there with even more other channels that were not included in our bouquet before. “We have more channels that are coming and the total number of channels will be over 70,’’ he said.

Some of the beneficiaries of the promo decoder had commended the improvement in the number of channels and quality of the programmes.

A Commander of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS), Kenneth Obunwa, and a fake officer of F-SARS, Oluwagbenga Abe, have been arrested in Rivers State by the authentic operatives of Akin Fakorede-led F-SARS and they will soon appear in court.

Obunwa, an indigene of Egi in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and Abe, who hails from Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State, both married with children, were arrested on Tuesday morning by operatives of F-SARS at Igwuruta near Port Harcourt in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers state.

A landlord in Igwuruta, Mr. John Onwaduegbo, told our reporter Tuesday evening in Port Harcourt that Obunwa and Abe, who he said introduced themselves as operatives of F-SARS, came around 9 p.m. on Monday to the house of Pastor Moses Finan and held him (Finan) and his younger brother, Silas Lohsing, hostage for some hours and extorted money from them, brandishing a machete.

Onwaduegbo insisted that he saw Obunwa with the machete, which Abe said he was always keeping in his Volkswagen Golf car, which was still at the headquarters of F-SARS in Port Harcourt, as at the time of filing this report.

Obunwa and Abe, who claimed to be members of Kaduna-based Vigilante Group of Nigeria, while separately speaking with our reporter in Port Harcourt, stated that in the last six months, they had been involved in voluntary night security job in Igwuruta, claiming to be known by the area’s monarch and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Igwuruta Divisional Police headquarters, having earlier arrested many armed robbers and other criminals in the area, who they claimed were handed over to the DPO

US President, Donald Trump on Wednesday formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, reversing nearly seven decades of American foreign policy and setting in motion a plan to move the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to the fiercely contested Holy City.

According to Trump:

“Today we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Mr. Trump said from the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House. “This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It’s something that has to be done.”

The president cast his decision as a break with decades of failed policy on Jerusalem, the United States, along with virtually every other nation in the world, has declined to recognize as the capital since Israel’s founding in 1948. That policy, he said, brought us “no closer to a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.”

“It would be folly to assume that repeating the exact same formula would now produce a different or better result,” Mr. Trump declared. Recognizing Jerusalem, he added, was “a long overdue step to advance the peace process.”

Mr. Trump’s remarks were the most closely scrutinized of his presidency on the Middle, where he has vowed to broker the “ultimate deal” between Israelis and Palestinians but has yet to find a breakthrough to end the conflict. He said he remained committed to brokering an agreement “that is a great deal for the Israelis and a great deal for the Palestinians.”

The president said the decision to recognize Jerusalem should not be construed as the United States taking a position on whether, or how, the city might ultimately be shared. But he offered little solace to the Palestinians, making no mention of their long-held hopes for East Jerusalem to be the capital of a Palestinian state. Instead, Mr. Trump emphasized the domestic political dimension of the decision. He noted that he had promised to move the embassy during the 2016 presidential campaign, and added, “While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering.”
