To be frank, being a pastor is overrated but being a female pastor.. eeeeh. A UK female pastor has gotten into many people's mind with her assertions. According to the preacher, she married for money and not for love and ironically, her congregation are happy and laughing sheepishly while high -five-ing her. A pastor teaching her congregation that is ok to marry for money and not love and she is bold enough to use herself as an example. What more are people looking for to convince them that this world is gone?

Have morality totally disappeared from this world? And in the churches? That a so called women of God will be making this kind of confession boldly in the church?

Nigerian Army Orders All Personnel To Learn Hausa, Igbo & Yoruba Language Before 2019

The Nigerian Army in its many proactive ways has directed all its officers to immediately commence the learning of the three major Nigerian languages. In a statement by army spokesperson, Sani Usman, on Wednesday morning said all personnel are expected to be proficient in Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba by December 2018.

Mr. Usman, a brigadier general, said the directive is part of the new language policy by the army. Read full statement below.

NIGERIAN ARMY INTRODUCES NEW LANGUAGE POLICY FOR OFFICERS AND SOLDIERS

1. The Nigerian Army has introduced a new Language Policy. The study of foreign and local languages is world-wide practice among armies, in which officers and soldiers are encouraged to be multi-lingual. The Policy will foster espirit-de-corps and better communication with the populace to enhance information gathering, civil-military relations, increase understanding between militaries when operating abroad and assist officers and soldiers to perform their duties professionally.

2. It is to be noted that English remains the official language in the Nigerian Army. Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa languages could be used during Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities or interrogation. Therefore all Nigerian Army personnel have been given one year to learn the three major Nigerian languages. Invariably, by December 2018, all Nigerian Army personnel are expected to learn the three major Nigerian languages. The standard of proficiency to be attained is the basic level. Certificated proficiency level will attract Language Allowance.

3. The ability to speak the 3 major Nigerian languages will be an added advantage to those applying for recruitment or commissioning into the Nigerian Army. Therefore, prospective candidates are encouraged to learn Nigerian languages other than their mother tongues.

4. Before now, the Nigerian Army officially encouraged the learning of French, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and Swahili. French language is an assessed subject in some career courses and examinations for Nigerian Army personnel.

The trial of leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnmadi Kanu, took rather a dramatic turn as senator representing Abia South Senatorial zone, Enyinnaya Abaribe, one of the three persons standing as sureties for his bail ‎has asked the court to compel the Nigerian Army to pay him N10m as damages.

Besides, in his application before the Abuja division of the Federal High Court, the lawmaker is praying for an order compelling the Chief of Army Staff to offset all expenses he incurred in the course of Kanu’s trial.

The N10m monetary compensation, according to the Senator, is for the psychological trauma he has gone through following the extra-judicial self-help actions of the Army Chief of Staff. Abaribe is standing as surety for Kanu, having signed a bail bond of N100m to secure bail for Kanu.

Justice Binta Nyako, had on October 17, ordered Abaribe, and two others standing as sureties to appear in court to explain the IPOB leader’s whereabouts. Kanu, who was enjoying the bail granted him by the judge on April 24, was absent from court at the previous proceedings when trial was billed to commence.

His three co-defendants – the National Coordinator of IPOB, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe; an IPOB member, Benjamin Madubugwu; and a former Field Maintenance Engineer seconded to the MTN, David Nwawuisi – were produced in court by prison officials.

But Bright Chimezie, who became a co-defendant in the case following an amendment of the charges was also absent. The new co-defendant was said to be in the custody of the Department of State Service.

Kanu’s lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, told the judge on October 17 that Kanu had been missing after soldiers invaded the IPOB leader’s home‎ on September 14, adding that the Nigerian Army was in the best position to produce the defendant.

A lawyer, Mr. Ogechi Ogunna, appeared for Abaribe informing the judge ‎that his client had filed a motion seeking to be discharged as Kanu’s surety. ‎The two other sureties, Immanuel Shalum Okabenmabu and Tochukwu Uchendu, were absent from court and not represented by any lawyer on Tuesday. ‎But Justice Nyako said Abaribe’s motion could not be heard until Kanu was produced in court.

After lawyers representing parties to the case announced their appearances on October 17, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuabu Labaran, who was led by Mr. Saleh Barkum, noted that Kanu was absent from court. He urged the court to order the arrest of the IPOB leader for being absent from court on Tuesday.

But Kanu’s lawyer, Ejiofor, told the judge that Kanu was ready to face trial until the military invasion after which he had become missing.

Zimbabwe Politics: Thousands Of Protesters Takes To Streets, Chanting "Mugabe Must Go"

Thousands and thousand of people have gathered in the centre of Harare to call for the resignation of their embattled leader, Robert Mugabe, as moves to force the Zimbabwean president to stand down gather momentum.

The rally is supported by the army and members of the ruling Zanu-PF party. War veterans who until last year were loyal to the president are also saying Mr Mugabe should quit. Needless to recall that this all started when Mugabe's No 2 was fired few weeks ago.

93-year old Mugabe, had been under house arrest since the army takeover on Wednesday, but on Friday he made his first public appearance. He spoke only to open the graduation at a university of which he is chancellor.

Mr Mugabe's nephew, Patrick Zhuwao, told Reuters on Saturday (local time) that the elderly leader and his wife were "ready to die for what is correct" and had no intention of stepping down in order to legitimise what he described as a coup.

Speaking from a secret location in South Africa, he said Mr Mugabe had hardly slept since the military seized power on Wednesday but his health was otherwise "good". Many Zimbabweans are growing impatient and want Mr Mugabe — the world's oldest head of state — to leave immediately.

Protesters hope a big turnout will speed up the official end of Mugabe's rule, which is widely blamed for the collapse of an economy that was once one of Africa's wealthiest.

APC agents according to reports and photos online has been caught on camera sharing food to the electorates.. Now I can appreciate the hunger and hardship in this country.
