Politics / Re: GEJ - Boko Haram Disorganised My Plans For Govt by Moreti(m): 11:30pm On Jul 17, 2012
I conclude that we have more Anti-GEJ people on Nairaland than anything else, it is amazing how a GEJ bashing thread gets filled up real quick, while a GEJ supporting thread never crosses 3 pages, am just wondering. Everything wrong is attributed to GEJ, even failures of our local government councilors and representatives.

Some people find a way of calling GEJ names on every occasion, and I feel that this people derive some joy on GEJ goofs and are offended if he does anything right. I hope this is not some propaganda, lets try and be objective and even proffer solutions, governance is not as easy as typing "RETARDING" on your computer in the comfort of your home, think and be objective, criticize and give advise on your idea on how it should be done better, and give kudos if you think it was done okay, that is how objective and unbiased people behave.

My dear "allah huwa kubaru" is fast becoming the anthem of terrorists. Please we all know they is something they r reading in the koran that incites dem, that is the truth. We all need to get all muslims educated.

The difference between a muslim and a terrorist = education.

Most terrorist who call themselves muslims are not educated and r usually recruited from very backward areas. As someone said, clear the bush and there will be no snakes.

The northern leaders hav not don well in educating their children, now it has come to hunt us. Y r muslims in the south so different from those in the north? If there r serious they shld rise up against them, because they r tarnishing that fine religion, u cannot win a guirella warfare if the community shields the them.

Nigeria is a country where the intelligence agencies cannot infiltrate terrorists for national security, rather it is the terrorists that are infiltrating them, kai we no dey take last.

God will see us tru, we need to really pray.

So the naija series is ova, Tank God it ended peacefully. At list it was just 7and half seasons - Goodluck Jack Bauer Jonathan, you try, the most insulted president on the social network. At least we now know the subsidy is gone, lets make sure the govt is on its toes to at least to implement all the sweet things in the speech today. This strike and protest has sent us 50 years ahead, am certain we will not be talking of govt expenditure and true federalism if pple did not protest to this extent. No government will take us for granted again, our eye done open. God bless Nigerians.

I occupy my work tomorrow by the grace of God, any of my staff not at work, will neva occupy their space in my office again.

Politics / Re: Subsidies: Sls Replies Critics. A Must Read by Moreti(m): 4:59pm On Jan 14, 2012
@faithinnaija,

God bless u oh. We as a people shld ask the govt to increase minimum wage, grant transportation tax waiver, provide pms voucher and any other innovative ways of getting this subsidy directly to the masses (the consumer) instead of paying the oil marketers that r nt sincere. Y r we struggling for few oil marketers to continue getting subsidy, Y r we nt asking the govt to increase minimum wage or provide pay PMS allownace and grant transport tax waiver to cushion the effect? Y r we so blind to facts?

What I see here is that, pple r filled with so much hatred (maybe from events of the past) that they have refused to listen or reason in this direction, to their own detriment. Who gains the most if fuel is back to 65 naira? Is it not the cabal, past military men, past govt officials, present Executive and NASS? r they nt on the board of some of this companies?

Pls we r on the wrg track here, the govt shuld pay, petrol allowance or something directly to the poor to cushion the hike in price, instead of paying few insincere pple.

@ damola1

d only solution is to make our voices heard is with protests like this, nothing else. Organized labor and civil societies shld champion it, like they r doin nw, do u think we will be talking abt this if there was no protest? we hav to protest, make they knw where e dey pain us. Once u hav a govt that knws that the pple are aware and enlightened, they will tread carefully.

They r som countries u do not do anyhow, once u do sometin wrg in govt, before u say "omotola" pple r on the streets callin for ur head. We will get there, Naija go beta.

Bros GEJ, cannot be chopping Gucci Rice and Versacci YAM if our national assembly no approve am na. We hav a set of National Assembly members that have no reason been there?

Wen Oga Sanusi said that we where spending a whooping 25% of our budget on them, no NLC/TUC yarn, no body yarn, it was not even news, lets seize this opportunity to make them review that 2012 budget well well by reducing all reducables, we shuld nt accept anything other than agege rice and umuada new yam for GEJ and NASS members, that will be progress. But I doubt if we will occupy Naija for this. Once fuel is 65 naira no body cares anymore, we r only concerned with wht hits us, once we r fine nobody remembers anything anymore.

@ blackweaver,

so the oil marketers (pardon me, dont like the word cabal, b/c there's nothing like that), shuld continue flexing with our money pending when we can trust the govt, or pending wen the govt fix all that has been spoilt from the 70's?

y cant this subsidy be paid to the masses, by way of increased minimum wage, PMS vouchers, tax cut or any other thing we can think of, must the oil marketers get the subsidy for us to be happy?

really, I am still tryin to comes to terms with the "masses" agitation here. Really!, u guys want the oil marketers to continue gettin money frm our collective treasury becuase we always want to get fuel at 65 naira? What about getting fuel less than 65 naira? do u guys think the price of fuel will eva get below 65 naira if this flawed fuel subsidy policy continues?

My take here is, the subsidy shld get to the masses direcly, as Seun has suggested in one of the threads via PMS vouchers, we shld sit bank and develop ideas that will get the subsidy to masses directly, instead of fighting for oil marketers who r already rich, and can afford to get out of this country, once it breaks or in event of a war (God forbid), pls people let us think and not just jump into conclusions or engage in arguments that do not portray progress.

Yes is the right step in the right direction, wether we like it or not, we cannot sustain this kind of "subsidy to few oil marketers policy", we will neva move forward. Please let us stop and think, if we really r concerned about the poor and cheated in this countr, then we shld think of better alternative subsidy that will affect the vast poor majority, instead of canvassing for more funds for oil marketers. Please stop all this wranglings and think.

I guess the big boys {oil marketers) are preparing for the last swoop of subsidy (if its re-instated) and r already making plans, I bet u.

@989900

Apologies if I dnt understand what is going on here, bt from what I have read so far, majority of pple on nairaland wants the oil prices back to 65 naira, that means govt shld continue to pay oil importers/thieves subsidy (some r genuine though, but very few), thats all I understand, pls educate me if this is nt what pple are protesting and are going to go strike on for monday.
Politics / Re: Fuel Subsidy Removal: President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech by Moreti(m): 10:54pm On Jan 07, 2012
I am still shocked on what some Nigerian pple are askin for and wishing for.

My point is, paying corrupt oil thieves (subsidy) is not what we shuld be quarrelling and wanting to be rversed, not at all. A subsidy that cannot be audited and monitored because they all have papers from the ports, and PPPRA pays by dcuments (fake papers gotten through bribes) and even if you take them to court, no evidience becuase they have signed papers from the port.

I assure you all the big boys in NNPC, DPR, PPPRA have fake oil companies which we pay "subsidy"to without bringing in one drop of PMS.

Little wonder the subsidy money keeps increasing every year, becuase more people "eye" dey open, all uneed do is register a company, bribe your way through DPR, NNPC, PPPRA and BOOM you start getting fuel subsidy.

Shuld we be fighting for reversal of payment to oil thieves (subsidy)? This is one good thing that has ever happened in thei country and am still amzed at how Jonathan can do this.

This is a right step and we shuld not be fighting for its reversal, becuae it means we shuld continue paying few already rich corrupt pple that u cannot track, rather we shuld fight for the subsidy to be reversed to the pockets of the masses. Yes we will buy the fuel at whatever market rate, butt he government shuold subsidise by:

1. Increase minimum wage - to buffer the increase in PMS
2. Pay walfare or oil subsidy walfare (something like that)
3. provide alternative transport.
4. and any other thing that will directly benefit the ordinary nigerian not the other way round.

This what we shuld strike for, not to strike for govt to continue paying corrupt money (I wonda y Jona is even insisting not ot reverse, after all they will benefit more)

Another reason we should fight and strike is for their allowances and salaries/benefits to be reveiewed and government spendings, audited and make them accountable. this are beta reasons to fight.

NLC shuld fight for the subsidies to be paid to the masses as listed above and for govt benefits and spendings to be reduced and made accountable and auditable, that is a good fight, not to be fighting that subsidy shld be paid to pple who hav been feeding fat.

Am out.
Politics / Re: Gej Nailed Finally- Okah Spills The Bin! by Moreti(m): 12:13am On Oct 06, 2010
I am ashamed of Okah till tomorrow. You are MEND meaning Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta. Now we have the Niger Delta in Aso Rock, who is in the best position to EMANCIPATE the region and you are doing this? Is it IBB or ATIKU that will bring the EMANCIPATION you yearn? Now it is clear that you neva fought to EMPACIPATE the us but to EMANCIPATE YOUR POCKET.

Come to think of it, during and after the amnesty deals, did anyone hear of the mayhem in the Niger Delta again? Kidnappings, bombings, fighting and co. It all died down. When they (especially IBB, ATIKU and some political jobers) where screaming on Jonathan to make his intentions known, was they any wahala, but "suddenly" (DBANJ MUSIC) GEJ FINALLY DECLARES WITH FANFARE and all hell is let loose, kidnappings assume a record high and now bombings, is it nt clear that some pple want to make the country ungovernable and pave way for the military again if they cannot make it? Just like what they intend to do to ANAMBRA, ABIA and JOS becuase this guys left their godfathers?

Nigerians some people have to be eliminated before we can have our country back. This guys dont want change and they know that if GEJ gets they, he will not play ball becuase he a pharoah that knows no joseph and they will alll pay. I pray that GEJ will be able to tacle this guys because this is just the beginning, BOKO HARAM is on stand by and some powerful military ogas are ready to arm and cause kata kata b/c they have the armory in their pockets and will heed to their bek and call. I don't see GEJ winning this war, unless he decides to play dirty and eliminate some pple fast, if he plays clean then I am sorry because all what is happenning == money for hand back for ground, they no send us again.

Lets all pray to God to remove all the elements that is standing against the greatness of this blessed nation. Men how can a human beings in their last days be this wicked, greedy, insensitive and lack fear of God, its obvious they have decided to dine with the devil till death bring them face to face.

If GEJ had declared when he was asked by amanpour on CNN, by now we would have been hiding in trees with war planes and tanks and occupying the air, roads and waterways. I pray God saves us from this. This guys want this nation scattered b/c for once they will be 100% not in authority.

Little wonder OBJ was striking deals with them to keep them in check, he knws what they r capable of. Oh GEJ governance is a bed of thorns, welcome to hell. Sit back, think, strike, kill and win or sit back, play good, resign or die and be shamed -  trust me they r good at this.

Just go to the nearest branch of the bank and report, they will respond within 72 hrs or less, its a new rule or they will be sanctioned.

The era of 1 month is over, wether it is your bank or not. I was credited almost immidiateley at FinBank and they actually explained this to me. The system is even automated if they don't respond in 72hrs you get credited automatically.

Politics / Re: Questions For Sanusi Lamido Sanusi by Moreti(m): 6:47pm On Aug 23, 2009
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi!!! mm no be so they dey do am at all. I am not interested wether he is acting a northern script or not, or wether he has ARAB friends he wants to sell the Banks to, but what I know is this, All Nigerian banks give loans (For crying out loud that is why they are in businness, if u remove loans from this banks, then they will no longer be banks, we will rather call them warehouses for money), all Banks in the world (including the world bank) have bad loans, now the question is to what extent.

I can tell u that Nigerian banks do not have have as much bad loan portfolio as the banks abroad do, but the regulatory authorities manage this information to avoid a total crash of the system.

Sanusi should have at least asked the management to resign (and of course sack anyone who refuses to comply), and inject this funds quietly without making so much drama out of it, and what it would have been is change of govt, soldier go soldier com barracks remain the same. Then help the new mang follow up on the loan defualters with everything they have, than telling us that that CBN has pumped 420b into 5 "troubled banks" and later say the banks are okay they is nothing to fear, who wan hear that one. I strongly believe he did that to embarrass the bank chiefs and tell Soludo and Nigerians that I am a no nonsense Mallam, forgeting that he is not an Island.

What CBN has done is to create panic in the system and we are already beginning to see ripple effects like

no more investor confidence.
no more customer confidence.
less lending.
stock market panic buying and selling,

Now if the banks reduce lending, then we will have less companies springing up, the companies owing the banks right now will be on their toes to pay back in a hurry, of course this five banks will either be aquired or merge (before people will normally do business with them again), all this amounts to less money in the system and less jobs to do and in summary more credit crunch.

I think Sanusi should have handled this in a better way or what do u think?

Religion / Re: Opus Dei. by Moreti(m): 5:31am On May 23, 2007
There is nothing wrong with Opus Dei! Stop all this rumours, try and get facts about stuff before jumping into bad conclusions. Da vinci code is a movie and is acted based on research from which conclusions was made, this guys are out to make money and gain popularity, and we should not encourage religious rumours and lies, opus dei is everywhere and there are not secretive, if they are, the last place they will be will be on campuses, is a church unit, and if you feel they are devils, aproach them and ask them to give thier lives to Christ and you will be doing a lot of good than just speculating and giving yourself headache. undecided

Imagine a christain going to a mosque on friday and saying that all what christains do are all false and that christ did not die, and rise after 3 days and all we do is a waste of time. the muslims will surely embrace him and publish books based on his/her story and make it public and at the same time, he will be rewarded with a free trip to mecca every year and dine and wine with the king of saudi, and much more.

So lets be careful what we say and write because no one was born bad, we are all creatures of God, and God loves us equally, nobody is superior, lets love one another and be understanding, irrespective of religious affiliations.

When we were born we did not know, we were only told how, and up to the age of 4 we are not aware of our ourselves and surroundings, when and how we would die we do not know, but we are always keen to judge and condemn others, forgeting that we are all human beings, capable of making mistakes.

Let us be more understanding, bearing in mind that we are all inmates in this world, were all the inmates are on death row, and everyday we wake up alive, means we are a step closer to our graves. wink
