Bigboy75: Has anyone applied to Amberg Weiden? How did you get the VPD you used? I uploaded the one uni assist emailed me, but they rejected it. Please help. The one Uniassist emailed you is not the original and that was why it was rejected. You should get a hard copy VPD by post from Uniassist, that's the one you should upload and it will be accepted asap. Good Luck |

kosky: Hi MorrisEbosie,
I'm afraid the application for 2020/2021 session is closed. However I suggest you keep checking http://www.funding-guide.de/ . There are always so many calls for application for different countries. The good thing is that you can refine the search. The particular one I applied for was for students in sub Saharan Africa. The deadline is usually on the 31st of October.
It is a plus to already have an admission but you can apply while still applying for admission. The requirements are always stated in the call for application but let me mention a few requirements helps boost the application.
1) You must have a 1st class or second class upper division in your first degree. A good masters degree if you are going for PhD. 2) Your last degree should not be more than 6 years old. 3) Being in academics is an advantage 4) Having up to 2 years work experience is an advantage 5) IELTS band 6 and above 6) If you are going for a PhD, having some publications is an advantage 7) Being in STEM is an advantage 8 ) Good letter of motivation for Masters applicants and good Project proposal for PhD applicants. 9) PhD applicants should already have an agreement with a university Professor for supervision. 10) Curriculum vitae in table format 11) Good references from your University lecturers and/or employer 12) Try as much as possible to obey instructions and ensure your application is complete. Don't leave out any requirement hoping they will consider.
These are all I could recall right now. Some important points might be missing. Thank you Madam, this will definitely be helpful. I will check for other requirements too, but let me start with this one first. Thanks and God bless. |

kosky: Visum Alert!
What a journey.
DAAD scholarship application submission: October 31, 2018
I submitted a few hours to the deadline. I was pregnant and my brain felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool. I had to write a PhD proposal and my brain was just not working. I almost gave up but my husband keep pushing and encouraging me. It's still a miracle how I was able to beat the deadline.
DAAD Scholarship: March 13
I gave birth to my daughter on the same day. Double blessing. No, the excitement didn't push me into labour. My baby came first.
AD: July 18
Got there before 6am. I was the first person they attended to because I was a breastfeeding mother. Mr Paulinus was very gentle and kind.
The VO told me I applied too early and that I would have to go back and book a new appointment in October. I almost broke down in tears. I had travelled from the east to Lagos with my husband and my little baby because I was exclusively breastfeeding. Spent almost 200k on return flight tickets and hotel bills and dude wanted to send me back. Ha! I started begging with everything in me. Thankfully, he was able to get permission from his superior to accept my application. However, he told me that it would not be processed till October. Pheew!
I didn't post an interview transcript because there was none! He just took my documents and got my biometrics and told me that the interview was over. I was confused. He wanted to return my passport and I told him to keep it. I mean, I had submitted my application with my insurance documents so, there was really no point for me to have to send the passport later.
The VO was really nice and cheerful.
AM: October 21st
They just requested for my travel date. I responded on the same date. And then the wait began. I saw people getting their visa few days after AM and I was wondering why they had forgotten me. Fear. Anxiety. Confusion. I started sending emails. No response. Because my prepaid envelope was more than 3 months, I couldn't track it. I didn't know if they had sent it and got missing along the way. Emailed dhl last week and they had to check their archives and confirmed that it hadn't been sent. I called the embassy, the lady told me to check back next week. I decided to take my mind off it and focus on my work. Voila!
Visum: November 15
Start date: December 2
Thanks guys for all the updates! Here is to more AMs and Visa. And scholarship! Congratulations Madam, we give God the glory. I will love to ask, PLS how did you go about the daad scholarship, what's the application procedure and requirements. And must I be admitted first in a university before I can be awarded the scholarship and hope the application is still open? Thanks Ma'am |

JosephAdeoba: . Which state in Germany? You have nothing to fear since nachgewiesen was ticked that is very important and ok . regarding the expiration date of your SL (For a national visa are valid 5 years since their date of issuance.) Just inform your Sponsors to issue another SL and change your Entry date on the SL to your Summer Start date. The chances of getting a visa is the same as the Block account Since your sponsors are eligible. Which state in Germany are your sponsor residing? I think Weiden is the name of the city. So that means I can't use this particular SL for summer and I must get a new one? And also my address on the SL is different from where I stay now because I recently moved from that address to a new one. Does the change of address mean anything? |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by MorrisEbosie: 7:53am On Nov 14, 2019 |
JosephAdeoba: your question is confusing but I understand very well first of all, if your sponsor want to apply for SL depend on the state he is residing in Germany the Alien office will ask him or her to produce your international passport copy , your home address and your Course start date only depending on his state of residence for example Munich will check if he is eligible and he will fill a form and put all your Info passport info, your home address in Nigeria and your course start date that's all, each state have there own requirements, some state ask for admission letter while some don't and the processing fee is just 29euro only no more no less Munich issue SL in just 20minutes if your sponsor is eligible and don't forget to. READ THIS INFO ........................tell your sponsor to tick this in the remark area on your SL document. Quoting a post by Immafrank This should help you.
Most people still don’t know how this letter works. Apart from the embassy and your intended alien office doing their verification, you must also make sure the important details on your SL are okay. If you are here and you are using SL. Before you have your original SL sent to you, make sure you request for a scanned copy and cross check your details that it is correct, check that the purpose of stay is fur studium.
nachgewiesen must be ticked. nachgewiesen means the sponsor has successfully demonstrated and that he/she has met all requirements to stand as your sponsor.
In some cities like Stuttgart, Rastatt, they tick both nachgewiesen and glaubhaft gemacht while in some cities like München, they only tick nachgewiesen. nachgewiesen is very important.
I once saw SL where nicht nachgewiesen was ticked. It was straight rejection. So contact your sponsor and let the office the letter came out from make the correction. Thanks Bro. But I have some few questions. How long can SL stay before one can't use it anymore for Visa application.... Like an expiring duration if not yet used for Visa application. Because I have gotten mine which stated entry date for 30/10/2019 and I intend using it for summer. I got two SL one from my brother and another one from his spouse who is a German. And what I noticed only nachgewiesen was thicked. So what do you think about this SL and chances for getting a visum for me. Thanks Bro. |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by MorrisEbosie: 7:25am On Nov 13, 2019 |
odimbannamdi: I think we are slightly misunderstanding that clause.
It does NOT mean AD will not be given to people who are yet to block. Afterall, there is no place to upload blocking confirmation document or SL at the point of applying for AD.
Whether we have blocked or not, we will get AD. But on the day we are to show up for the interview, we MUST come along with our blocking confirmation document, otherwise we will not be attended to.
Meanwhile, let us be careful what we pray for.
Fine, enforcing blocking before applying for AD (by creating an upload button when applying for AD) will do complete justice to the menace of people getting AD and not showing up, but it wont augur well for both them and us.
Because, at that point, those who would have to borrow to fund wont be able to cope anymore because creditors wont give that grace of 3 months (needed to process everything) to begin paying back.
Also, the German embassy would then have to give positive consideration to every application otherwise the rate of funds repatriation will increase.
It is just a dicey something This is awesome. |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by MorrisEbosie: 7:19am On Nov 13, 2019 |
Betterlife30: You have a point bro and at the same time, the application may mean applying for AD too. Nobody is certain about it yet but by next month latest, we should all know if someone will have to upload proof of fully funded block account before someone can get AD. If they truly input that on their website, it will reduce the rate at which people are bastardizing the stuff and AD won't be that difficult to get again. But for now, everything is still speculation until it's confirmed. So we all have to wait and see what they are planning. Yes I agree, very true. But instead of proof of fully funded block account, I will rather say we show proof of acceptance to the school, AL to book for an appointment date then the interview proper we show the proof of fully funded blocked account. I feel people book for appointment and get the appointment and still don't get admitted by any University, and they don't cancel the appointment so someone else can have that date. Therefore, they don't show up at the embassy for their interview because no AL. So the AD becomes a waste. Just a thought. |

amikable97: .
Even if you have AL but you graduated and your Bsc certificate is older than January 2017 or let me put it in an easy way your Bsc certificate dates 2016 backwards you fall under category B But if you graduated after January 2017 and your certificate is carrying February 2017 - till date you fall under category A
But this is not the only criterion for category A even if your Bsc is before 2017 and you have a German language certificate/ B2 certificate/scholarship you are eligible to apply under category A Thanks Dear, I really appreciate. Best regards |

I just wanna ask a quick one. This thing of if you acquire your BSC before January 2017 you fall under category B is it also applicable to those that has AL for Masters programme or going for Masters.?
So even with your AL for Masters but you acquired your BSC before January 2017 you still fall under Cat B?
Anyone with answer to this PLS help. Thank you. |

I hope the embassy won't see your application to be for winter since you booked in August. According to their website, they reset all application and delete all existing b list at the end of September and start accepting new application from October. This is not a final answer, it's just my own thought PLS do more findings. |

Coldie: I am not saying going to Germany is bad. But if u are going to Germany since the country offers free education, if u are not going there for the free education or using the SL, my friend got to know about it only when he reached Germany that people pay to get it.
Apart from that your BA money won't be given to u, they would be giving it to u in bits every month, he borrowed the part of the BA from Someone with the intention that once he gets his visa and reaches Germany he will withdraw and send back to the person.
Fine environment no mean success o.
Only him telling me this story I am almost depressed cause its the same school he attends that am attending, I have blocked my account too.
With this story I am thinking about my decision Paddy See, someone of us ain't going to Germany with the intentions of being a millionaire or billionaire. Someone are just going there to live a good comfortable life and be far from this hardship in Nigeria. Nothing works in Nigeria right now, the enonomy is not favouring anything and you talk about investing such big money here, that even the big companies are moving their head quarters away from Nigeria. |
