Saintsquare: This topic doesn't make any sense, trying to ridicule someone to gain cheap popularity.Your mates are making good cash with there so called gbagaun, you are still in your mother's house chasing your fellow brothers with grammatical error,I hope you earn a life in doing so.You could have easily corrected him,but you rather draw undue attention to yourself @ de victims expense,BIG F**L. Uncle bros, how the thing take do you? I make good cash from correcting gbagauns that people write and I have referees in case you want to check. And yes, I started from my mother's house but it has taken me beyond there to someplace cool and great. And there is no victim here since you can't even trace the post to a particular source. 1 Like |

toprealman: Why not help the OP 'write right' rather than make him/ her an object of ridicule. You are getting it all wrong. If I had seen an indication that the person who wrote that comment on a post is a budding writer, believe me, I would have offered my 'write right' service free of charge. And it's because of this ridicule that I didn't add the link to the post. Imagine people sending friends requests to the guy on facebook just to insult him. Even as the guy may not know what is happening here because of him, I feel bad that some of you are making it look like I attacked his person. I am just like a grammar police - what I see and write about has no personal beef attached to them. I am only doing my job, sir, ma. 1 Like |

Blackteeth: And how do you know he is a graduate? Is speaking perfect English the way to know who is a graduate or not? If our counterparts overseas submit their research proposals in this kind of English, I doubt they would be given the chance to search in the first place, not to talk of research. I am also sure that any undergraduate that submits his thesis' proposal to his supervisor this way will spend more than an extra year in school - except he pays someone to write the project for him. 1 Like |

It wasn't an attack on the messenger, bros, as I can't recall calling the guy names at any point. It read more as a joke to me. I got his message clearly, but it would have sank in more if he wrote it in simple and correct English, and I wouldn't have been giggling as I did reading it. 1 Like |

doofanc: Where's d link to d original post? Sadly, it is not an attention seeking post. If you had said it is an avenue to advertise my editing and proofreading services, maybe I would have agreed to that. About the link to the original post, I deliberately didn't include it because it is a comment on a friend's post on facebook. Putting the link will definitely show the person's name, and before you know it, it could become messy; which I don't want. The post is exactly as I saw it, no additions except for the quotation marks at the beginning and the end of the post. 1 Like |

frankie121: Its really pathetic. Who do we blame? the school system or the individual who refused to be educated, maybe both My brother, sometimes methink speaking and writing in correct English is inborn and not something you learn. But then, a montessori school proprietoress once told me that by the age of 6, it is established how bad or good a child will be in speaking and writing English. I don't know how she got her deductions, but it made me believe that the foundation matters - the home and the kind of school a child first attends. 1 Like |

Ezeufi: Is he a graduate in english language? Since when has putting together sentences correctly in a foreign language become a measure of someone's intelligence or competence? Oboy, e never reach namecalling levels, plsss. Putting together correct and coherent English became a yardstick to measure intelligence and competence since we all agreed that English Language is our lingua franca. Ask yourself, if English is not important, why are we being taught almost all subjects in English? Why do we write our exams in English? Why do we have to speak and actually practise to be fluent in English when we have to face interview panels? With the number of local dialects we have in Nigeria, it only makes it easy if we speak one common language which from generations past has been English. Stop being deliberately antagonistic as usual and let's call a spade a spade. 1 Like |

But for a country where we claim English is our lingua franca - our language of trade and communication - it is only expected that we are proficient in it in all areas, especially in writing and speaking. It will also be a big shame if a Frenchman speaks or write poor French... |

But when she would rather buy a 68,000 Euro bag instead of giving back something substantial to the society, and even admitting she doesn't have plans to do anything to affect lives positively, just because she claims to have ran a fantasy modelling school, only portrays an unserious element who is only concerned about herself. Check the number of 'I' in her sentences. And imagine that she stopped the so-called modelling academy because she quit modelling. Do schools or even companies close down because the founders retire? rick.ross: And how come we don't appreciate the little efforts our leaders make, but keep asking for their heads on what they didn't do. Whether publicity, propaganda, or whatever you call it, the important thing is that he did it. As for the bodyguards, the fact that he chose to serve as a traffic warden does not take away his being a governor. Imagine a report of Obama doing something like this, we all would have posted the picture on our facebook walls and caption it "Which of our Naija leaders can do this?" |

The multiple IDs shoud not be blamed on Seun but on members who find it difficult to be sincere in their dealings. The brief you have given here is enough for any smart producer or script developer to create a full script from. Maybe next time you should not tell so much. If you are on facebook, like 'So Wrong So Wright' and 'Tales of Eve' pages, then you can send a message about your script to them. You never can tell what could result from that. All the best. |
Literature / Re: Neeed A Publisher! by mortee: 2:48pm On Nov 29, 2012 |
emmabuggy: I need a publisher for my already written book. The book is about nonverbal communication. I could link you up with one or two publishers, but it depends on how good your manuscript is. The first thing you may want to consider is letting a professional editor/proofreader go through your work to make it publishing ready. It's easier to get publishers' interest in your work that way.
