actually she does have the right to call him ugly.
it's not slander. if he doesn't feel he is ugly, he'd just laugh her negativity off
and keep doing his thing. smiley

If that is the way you laugh off every negative thing said about you, then cool...

tunapawizzy: even b4 i read dis piece...v always wondered why people call this man ugly, Fine he is not Chidi Mokeme but this man doesnt look ugly to me.

Don't mind people. Has anyone seen him of recent with his weight loss and almost with a 6-pack tummy? The day I saw him during the candlelight for the late Enebeli Elebuwa, I had passed before I turned back and was like "wow, is this Segun Arinze for real?" Fine, he may not have been all that then, but money and taking proper care of oneself sure turns things around - a case study of 50cent, 9ice, Omobaba, Ronaldinho, etc.

And you even need to see Chidi Mokeme now. His wife has fed him fat and ugly that I was like "huh, was there a time I was truly tripping for this whoogly?"

Nairaland / General / Confession Time! How Many Accounts Do You Have On Nairaland? by mortee: 1:34pm On Jan 18, 2013
Now that we are celebrating that our dear Nairaland has one million members, it just crossed my mind that some people truly have more than one accounts on the site.
I know people will ask me to go hug transformer o, but let's play a game - Say the truth! Let us put the number of account(s) we have on the site, and the reason we have that many. For fear of ban or deletion of accounts, we don't have to put the usernames of the other ones.
I'll go first - I have this and another one which I opened for my brother-in-law for his Property business, but I get to run it most of the time.
Who next?
ADD. - Hope the moderator will allow this post to fly sef!

So having a baby 3 years ago will now stop her from having such a daughter?Nigerians and their funny questions

I think what the poster meant was it made news that she had a baby like 3 years ago, not that she has had a daughter this grown up. The normal thing then would have been to say she had her second child, inasmuch as that didn't make news then, the poster's question is on point.
Computers / Re: Help With My Laptop by mortee: 11:28am On Jan 17, 2013
I am having challenges with my HP Mini laptop. When I try to start it, the light on the Capslock key blinks twice and that's all. The lappie makes some kind of noise like there is a small fan inside it. The light on the power button remains on too.
Please, what can be wrong and what can I do?

I have a HP Mini laptop that is not booting. When I turn it on, the Capslock key blinks twice then the lappie starts to make some noise like it's coming up, yet nothing appears on the screen.
I'll prefer to sell it to buy a better laptop, so how much do you think it can go for?

Family / Re: Why Men Don't Help-Out With Domestic Chores by mortee: 1:10am On Jan 16, 2013
[quote author=mapet]1. Some of you women folks have talked with little wisdom IMHO. I hope your Beijin advocation is restricted to NL, less you risk loosing ur men. The one that will out-do you in chores and "services" are out there.

5. The reality is that the house chores are are for both. Maintenance, electrical works, Car wash, pack the gutter in ur frontage on environmental sanitation days, are stuffs men handle.

You talk this way because you were taught, you learnt and you decided to become responsible. Before you accuse the women of talking with little wisdom, do a quick survey around you of how many men out of 10 help their wives with chores.

As for your number 5, I know a man who is too proud, or perhaps too lazy, to come out to clean gutters with his neighbours on sanitation days. He'll rather incur the wrath of his landlord and other tenants, or his wife in the bid to avoid such troubles, would go join the men in the "stuffs men handle".
This same man will not take in the clothes his wife washed before she travelled. He'll leave them out until days when she comes back and re-washes the clothes.
And don't say it's the woman's attitude. The guy himself admits he has "oroju" - whatever that means in English.

rushda29:

I actually wanted to avoid it because although I'm a very traditional woman, I think that a man should help sometimes. And sometimes appreciating the woman is help enuff. I don't mean sitting on a chair and saying "you're doing a good job honey." But staying with her in the kitchen, chatting with her while she works.
Keeping her company and helping her to get things from the cupboard and helping in cleaning up. Or setting the table.

My sister, how many men do this? If they even compliment their wives while she is at work, it's a big plus. Some would even hasten her to finish up on time so she can attend to their personal needs.
I particularly hate when a wife asks for her husband's help and he doesn't do it. Imagine a sick and tired pregnant woman who wants to eat and discovers that the water dispenser she just managed to drag home has some big dirts in it. Then she begs her husband (who has eaten the food his wife prepared, and drank the last cup of water in the dispenser) to help her get water from a supermarket on their street. And he tells her to eat the food like that and he'll get the water when he goes out to take a stroll in the night. Time then was 5pm.
Or this - The sitting room is dirty and needs to be swept. Wife is pregnant, has a headache and bending down her head makes her feel like it's going to drop off her neck. Then her hubby's friend calls that he is on his way to their house and will be there in 10mins. Wife sweetly explains that she has been trying to sweep but the headache, then asks hubby to just scratch the surface of the floor with broom so it can be a bit neat and he says no. Not because he is doing anything, but because he doesn't care whether his house is dirty or not. To avoid being labelled dirty, the woman begins to sweep, develops cramps, is rushed to the hospital and loses the pregnancy. Doctor's report - high stress!

Many homes are creaking under the weight of the husband not helping the wife with domestic chores issue. But what I have realised is that a man who does not help at home, will still not help no matter how much you push him. And this is for no other reason than because he is lazy.
I have read a couple of books which advocates that to make your man feel important, assign the hard tasks in the house to him, but forget it, it doesn't work.
My own take is that if you as a woman want your home organised and neat and you want things done in the right time, take on the responsibility like you are the only one who lives in the house. This is the way I was able to avoid fighting with a dirty roommate I harboured in school then. I washed plates, cooked and swept my room just like I was still living alone.
Leave the lazy man alone to enjoy his laziness. But once in a while, pay him back in his own coin when he asks you to help him with something.

Infact I had wanted to start a thread on this sef.

The one that annoys me most bank securities asking 4 tip after u use d atm. I fink its a crazy naija mentality

Me too. I actually logged in to ask two questions only to find that they are on front page already.
About the tips, it became worse during the Christmas season and has gone on to deteriorate since the beginning of this year.
I experienced it in a boutique in Ikeja and a bookshop in Surulere. They now ask like: "Do Christmas/New Year for us now. Nothing is too small." It's truly annoying. Fine, they may not be earning very great salaries, but I think the proper thing is to do your job and let the customer decide if you are worth the tip or not.
Guards in bank when you go to use the ATM and the ones in fast food restaurants are the worst; like for you to use these places, you must be extra loaded.

Alright. Just try as much as possible to write few lines in your spare time. I have a very great passion for editing and proofreading, but I have suddenly developed this love for sewing and I am planning to explore it soon. Maybe I won't edit free for you again after all - you teach me few stitches and I'll edit few pages for you, like that, like that...lol

Very lovely and creative piece! You did a very good job, Tomeseen. If you have the time, let your imagination run wide and you can develop a full story from it, perhaps get it publshed and make yourself some cool cash.
I am an editor and I am offering you a full service of professional editing for free, if you ever decide to turn this into a novel.
All the best, girl!

Make una no vex o, but my question be say shey na 'strictly by IV' dem dey take enter the camp? If yes, then we can blame GO for inviting GEJ. But then, some of us will still criticise GO for not 'dining with sinners' as Jesus did.
If it is not by IV and GEJ just decided to go to the 'house of God' which I supposed should take in sinners and whoever, and GO sends him back, some of us will also say he should have allowed the President stay.
About sitting on the altar, methinks it's just about giving honour to whom honour is due. Even music, comedy and film shows sell VIP tickets and these VIPs don't get to sit where every other person sits.
Have you considered the security risk in having GEJ sit in the congregation? How many SSS, MOPOL, ARMY, POLICE, CIVIL DEFENCE and their likes can stop the mob?
Let's be real, abeg.

You make me laugh, Wale. If people write the way you do, it will be an easy task "spotting their grammatically errors", and believe me, I would have made an extra fortune from you.
I won't banter words with you again having found out that you can only talk with a little degree of knowledge about just one topic, and you don't even explore the positive sides of it either.
Go join the group of everyone who "have a source of living", smallie.

Siena:

Bro, I understand where you're coming from - to a certain degree.

However, English IS the spoken language in Nigeria, it's taught in schools across the country. There's no excuse for being poor when it comes to speaking and writing English in Nigeria. If a primary six pupil isn't fully proficient in English, then that means that pupil just sat in class, from primary one to six, and simply declined to learn.

Citing English as another man's language is a cop-out, and not a valid reason for bad written and spoken grammar.

#heavesasighofrelief# Long last somebody understands my point. Thanks for your comments o.

And for those who still think I should go wash transformer instead of discussing people's grammatical errors, let me tell you - it is in discussing people's errors that I earn a living. I am a copy editor, not just because I have to work, but because it's what I am so in love with. I started in my final year in school, went for NYSC and solely edited our quarterly newsletters and the annual magazine. And believe me, the job I had in school was waiting for me with a letter of promotion.

I am not trying to blow my own trumpet, but just encouraging people like born2fuck to find other things they can spend their time on instead of using free browsing cheats to deliberately be senseless when important issues are being discussed.

If you want to know more about me and probably see the source of my post, check out my page on facebook - https://m.facebook.com/tayokrosdot?refid=17

If you hit hammer on my head? Anyway, I am not surprised. Your posts and comments on nairaland reek of your limited understanding about life and its issues, therefore you can't see relevant comments on my posts.

Like I advised you earlier, plan realistic goals in the coming year so that if luck shines on you and you begin to live a life worthy of documentation, you can give someone that is not like me your life profile. Because for me, I'd rather truly go wash a transformer (like someone said), than edit your life profile.
