I don't really know how much they collect for wakeing up dead decoders. Don P on satellite telegram group can be of help to you.

There hope. For that decoder to wake up. You'll need the same srt497s decoder that is alive. Open it up and connect a device to the ICs of both decoders in order to wake the dead decoder up. I can't remember the name of that device now. A professional will do it for you.

Most of this Telecoms are now usurping banking duties like deposits, withdrawals etc. Through access money etc. I begin to wonder if they have license to do these services.

One of the ways to track a satellite using phones without a satfinder gadgets handy.

Requirements
A. 2 smartphones
B. Download a dish pointer app on smartphone.
C. Download WhatsApp on the phones.

Use a dish pointer app earlier downloaded to locate the direction of your choice satellite. (Azimuth)

Set you elevation by using the indication at the back of your dish.

Now to Align your dish properly. This is when we now need the two phones.
Do a video call on whatsapp on one of the phone and place it in your seating room facing the TV. It is assumed you have plugged your decoder and imputes the TP and its showing on your TV.

Take the second phone with you up the ladder ( Your TV is mirrored here to see your
signal strength and signal quality)

Begin to adjust your dish left to right or up and down while looking at your phone to see if it will hit green. Tightened your dish at maximum signal quality.
That's the summary.
I have used this method to find different satellites.

I remember years back I was 20yrs old then and I went for holiday to my Village and I decided to visit my Uncle staying in one of the Islands known as Utana Iwoekpom. They use most of the Islands as fishing settlements. As we were approaching this Island through the creeks from a very far distance on our speed boat I was hearing loud noises like that of an aeroplane and I asked if we were going to the airport. They laughed at me and answered, "No". When we finally got there, it was the waves from the Atlantic ocean rising as high as two palm trees and hitting the shores of the Island. In my mind , I said this place will be good for surfing. I spent one lovely unforgettable week on that Island. The whole place is neglected. There are many foreigners there, many of them use the place as routes to countries like Gabon, Cameroun, Equatorial Guinea etc.
God will continue to bless Akwa Ibom state.
