Arteta on Nwaneri's goal: "He did it yesterday in training so we’re getting used to that. He’s a big talent, he’s got the right attitude, he’s got the right players and context around him and we need to make sure that we put brick by brick. But we have some player there!"

Arteta on Nwaneri: "Certainly! If not he wouldn’t have played tonight, he wouldn’t have played three days ago against Liverpool. He’s there. He’s showing every day what he’s capable of. You see his teammates, they give the ball all the time. That’s a great sign. We’ve got some player there."

Arteta on the half time subs: "No, it was planned. We have a lot of issues in the backline. We wanted to share the minutes, because we lost Gabi, we lost Ben as well on top of other players. We wanted to be competitive but we had to make sure that we protected players because we have a lot of big games coming up."

Arteta on Saka coming on: "Yeah because he’s in the rhythm and he has that exposure with us. He always says ‘once I’m here I prefer to have a few minutes’. As well we wanted to protet Gabi because he had quite a big impact in the first half so it worked quite well."

Attitude matters in life. I won't be surprised if that's the criteria that made Vini fell short.

Imagine trolling someone with something you have not won yet eh. If you con win am, nobody go fit stand up to you then, not even Infantino.

I'm glad Rodri won the award.

🚩 Vincent Garcia (France Football): "Vinicius suffered from the presence of Bellingham and Carvajal in the top 5. That took away some voting points from him.

This sums up Real Madrid's season, which had been between 3 and 4 players and the journalists shared their decisions between them, which benefited Rodri.”

And there is Barcelona that once had 3 players in top 3 twice (?).

The ref sef.... Allow play continue before blowing since the foul was 50-50. If the team score, check VAR. Simple!

Man wait to see if Konate or Havertz will win the ball before blowing.

Surrendering possession after Gabriel went off was where we lost it. We lost too many ball.

Declan rice would be a better option there. At RB

Partey will play midfield.

This game is screaming for a Nwaneri...In my opinion
Sorry for replying late. I think Declan' mobility is why Arteta didn't place him at CB. The position he played required a lot of running and energy which Partey lacks.

Nwaneri? Well, without our main creative outlet, we need to take advantage of every situation which is where set piece comes in. Could be why Merino starts. Also the defensive contribution counts too.

VVD violently matching Havertz. Diaz kicking the ball away. No card was issued.

We're used to it anyway

Martin Odegaard offers more than just relentless pressing and chance creation. He is highly intelligent, capable of using loopholes in the opponent's set up to his advantage.

Our positioning has been unexpectedly bad in this half which affects our ball progression. Havertz should be attacking the box whenever a cross is about to come in, not just standing behind expecting loose ball. You're 6ft6 FFS.

Kudos to Merino. He almost gifted them a goal and missed a sitter. However, he redeemed himself. O she kinni, o lule. O she keji, o ba di goal ball. grin grin

Excellent first half but we need to do better.

I kinda understand why Arteta went for Merino though. Saliba's absence left a big hole in our defence. A hole White can not fill alone.

Omo!!! Oya now.

By the way, what’s your prediction for todays match?
I'm not confident TBH especially with Saliba out. Looking at the lineup, I think we should be able to get the job done.

As for the previous post, I think it is Ramsdale.

With Timber (and Saka) with the team, there is a bit of an headache about who to start in defence.

I don't know if Timber is fully fit or he was rushed back. No matter what Arteta plans to do today, Partey must not play RB. Never!
I can tolerate Rice at CB but Partey at RB? No

BTW, one of Zinchenko, Jorginho and Ethan should be part of that midfield.
Partey at RB. angry Timber starts at LB. Saka made it too. However, no Nwaneri.

Arteta is the coach anyway.

CAF's decision to award 3 points and 3 goals to Nigeria is still giving me mixed feelings.

Of course they deserved it but what about the agitation of the Libya people. If Libya can do that to a national team (such a pettiness) because of a miscommunication that happened in Nigeria, I wonder what they would do to common Nigerians over there due to CAF's decision to award us 3 points.

CAF should have just select a neutral ground, make we replay the match.

Arsenal recently let go a first team player who had been struggling with alcoholism the last few years. A fresh start was decided for the player this past summer and the Arsenal backroom staff and players are all still in contact. The player is playing , happy ,clean and sober for over seven months. A success story from a career almost lost . #arsenalfanaticsnews

I took a guess several times and only one name kept popping up.
