No one is immune from being wrong, you just have to acknowledge it when it happens instead of grandstanding. I had similar encounter with him days ago on super eagles thread that's why I asked him. He only told me to go back and read what the person I quoted wrote. Asked him where I was wrong and he still repeated same thing. |

Spy360: Your number 1 and number 3 especially the bolded part are different.
As for your question about England, I think you are living in denial because England has all her best players fitted into the first team.
I gave you several examples and you lie that they don't fit in and I am like I thought you were going to give me one example of a country that does not play all their best players in their first team.
Even the Serbia I am watching now has Vlahovic and Mitrovic both strikers in their team. Even Tadic is playing as a no10.
It's easy to just call someone's observation contradictory without providing any evidence simply because you can type. I challenge you to give me one example. ok |

Jodera: Lol... You're right but I'm just looking at it from Southgate point of view.
The only reason why Foden is starting presently is because he won epl best player in England while starring at the best club in England. So It's never happening for him to be benched. It's like saying Spain coach should bench la liga best player in Spain NT when the said player plays for either Barca or Madrid. Or a German coach should bench Bundesliga player of the season when said player plays for Bayern. What does that say about the league if that happens? How do you convince people to see how good your league is if your best player can't even start in his own league's country?
Remember Foden himself wasn't a guaranteed starter in England (from last Euros to last Wc). It's reason why I said earlier that Southgate hands are hooked in terms of this Foden and Bellingham matter
Well, there's a reason Southgate is being paid. This is one of the challenges that comes with it. He's the coach hence he should look for a way to balance them.
And as I dey here so, I no care how him wan take balance dem Foden and Bellingham. I just need that Euros cup to come back to England That's why Southgate still has his job sha. Imagine the number of stars Julian left out of Germany's squad. If Southgate try am, he will collect sack the next day. |

Jodera: This is exactly my point when people are omitting Foden.
How will it be that an Epl best player can't break into England squad? Like not only a Man City starter but current Epl best and league winner. Such player is considered a squad player because of balance? I've never heard of such sha and I doubt the Fa will take it lightly if Southgate does such. It's not easy at all for a coach to bench him, no matter the reason he wants to give. Bellingham winning La liga best player even compounds matter.
Southgate should just play him and Bellingham in midfield. Forcing him out on the wings (not even his favorable wing sef) will not do both England and Foden any favor Well, England should just forget about winning anything then. A midfield of Rice, Jude and Foden will be so disjointed and Rice will be overworked. You have Jude who likes bombing into the box and then Foden who is attackminded. The midfield go be like expressway. My point is not about benching one player or not. If Southgate finds a balance that accomodates everybody, good for him. However, going by name or club form instead of balance when picking a team will be disastrous. |

Spy360: First of all Saka is not a proper winger. At bestbhebis inverted. An inverted winger is a forward. A proper winger is like a midfielder.
That said, I am not against balance. I am simply saying that whatever you do you must accommodate your best players. National team football is not club football where you get all you want. In national team it's what's available so you try to maximise it. That's what makes you a national team coach.
Let me use Scotland as an example. They have two class left backs. In Tierney and Robinson. They have to play both of them. That's why they play a bac three so Tierney plays as a half CB.
Another example is Croatia that just finished playing. They have to clash AM in Kovacic and Modric. They played both of them.
If your best players are two strikers, play a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. When Mexico had Forlan and Suarez they played both. The only way you can avoid this is if both are GKs. Let me divide everything for you and move. 1. Your bolded is contradictory. Balance has nothing to do with best players. You can try to fit all your best players in the same lineup and an inferior team will beat your team mercilessly. 2. Saka and Salad are inverted wingers by your definition but both are different type of player. Arteta may play him as a wide forward in future but for now, he is a winger. The only wing forward I our team in Martinelli that's why we wanted Arteta to play him as a striker sometimes back. 3. All your examples didn't follow. The teams you mentioned were able to find balance and at the same time fit in their best players in the team. Can you say the same about England? 4. Kovacic is not an AM!!!!! |

Marjoribanks: Osimhen is going to Arsenal! Arteta and Edu see him as the profile to hand them both the Champions League and League title next season.
His jump power, press, xG and mental Character suits the profile Arsenal wants. Similarly, Arsenal's Ex-players like Henry and Petit want him. Current player like Saka is a fan too. They see him as the profile to elevate Saka's game to the next level!
Arsenal could smell Napoli desperation to sell Osimhen this season and its playing the waiting game to force the price lower.
Arsenal is not concern about Osimhen's injury problems all they need is a player that will elevate the mentality of their team and there is no one out there except Osimhen.
They saw how he led Napoli to their first title in 30 years, and how he almost led Nigeria to AFCON glory.
Osimhen and Arsenal a perfect Union!
Chelsea is also watching to see if indeed Arsenal will move for Osimhen and then snatch him from them. Arsenal knows Chelsea is watching and playing it clever. Wow...you were there when Edu, Vinai, Arteta and Josh sat down to discuss this? You don hammer o |

lovewins: I don't disagree. The suspension caveat is more like till he apologizes cause Victor can be stubborn too. But I think if they have a conversation and he's willing, a public apology should suffice. Infact, there shouldn't be any conversation before Osimhen can apologize. He is a humble lad and should know the right thing to do. He may have reached out secretly to Finidi though. |

Spy360: What ever system or balance you will suggest must include those two as well as other key players if not the team's strength will be diminished.
By the way which wingers? Only winger I see is Saka and he can play with Kane as a front two
................... Kane...... Saka.................. ..................... Bellingham..................... Foden........................................... TAA ........................... Rice............................ When you have a close to star-studded team in which every players are on top of their game, what you as a coach should consider first is balance. Lionel Scaloni couldn't take Dybala to Copa America. Sometimes, we have seen Dybala and Lautaro Martinez sitting in the bench. Why? There must be balance. The formation you proposed here can't work please. Saka is a winger, a proper winger at that.. not a wide forward. |

Arteta better start taking every competition seriously as pep does, no be Wenger wey no value Calabar cup(it's actually crazy that Wenger didn't lift the carabao cup in his 26 years). All of them matters, all of Dem. Make we dey look... It is really difficult to jump ship. Now that Arteta has been given a new contract, nothing less than EPL this season should be the target. |

Spy360: Any system must accommodate the two to maximise the strength of the team.
The worst is to play them as a double 8 with a sitting DM at the base. Or do what Ancelotti does, play them in a diamond midfield with either at the tip. Balance should come first before trying to shoehorn players into the starting line up based on their name or whatever. And no, the 442 won't be ideal for England because of the profile of wingers they have. |

Daninya33: An insider gossip.
NFF to ban Osimhen from playing in the next 3 games .
Emmanuel Amuneke highly favoured to replace Finidi. He is highly recommended by the Sports Minister. He has always been his choice. In a normal situation, the 3-game ban would be ideal but I can't say the same for the current situation. We need him for the qualifiers as he is one of our best players. I can't even think of any of other punishment. Fining him is just like doing giveaway for those greedy Papas in the glass house. Maybe a public apology to Finidi and the whole Nigerian would have been better. |
