Nice first half display .

We need to shoot more in the second leg. Arteta need to tell Tomiyasu to either wake up or get subbed off

It is obvious Bayern's game plan is to counter. Instead of keeping possession and passing around, why not let them have the ball instead and let us play the counter instead.

Bayern is starting with two LBs tonight due to injuries to Gnabry and Coman.
Our players on yellow should avoud getting penalized tonight so their previous yellow cab be wiped off if we go through...abeg No red card offence.

As for Ode, I don't think Arteta would have removed him at that stage of the match. The kick he took to the chest was kinda heavy. Ode probably felt something or it was just a precaution.

Mikel Arteta on the game: “Two very different performances. The first half was superb, one of the best halves we have played against a top team. It should have been three or four - or more.

“We didn't put that score line up and didn't reflect that second half. We lacked momentum. We didn't have the flow we had in the first half and then we conceded two very, very poor goals.

“Credit to them, in the second half we were a bit unprecise with the ball, we weren't able to do what we did in the first half. In the end we lost it so we have to congratulate them on the points.”

Mikel Arteta on missed chances vs Aston Villa: “When you are at this level, you have to punish them, it is not like you can do that for 90-95 minutes against a top opponent.

“If you can't do that then at least don't concede. We couldn't do that.

“We have to be more patient in the second half to find our moments. We were trying to do that with the changes but that's when we conceded.”

Mikel Arteta: “In any other league in the world if you won the number of games in a row that we did, you would be six or eight points clear. That is not the case here. That is the challenge.”

Mikel Arteta: “We can't control [Manchester City]. What we can control is that when we have the run we had when you win, win, win, win, it's easy. The moment is now. After this blow, it's how we react.

“We have the best opportunity to react against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. The team has to show it. If you want to win, you have to overcome these situations.

“With the games we had, this was going to happen. It is now about how we react. This is in our control.”

Even if we later win this league (0% chance), that still won't rub off the shortcomings of Arteta and this team.

Madrid will eliminate City from UCL on Wednesday and na that time Pep go concentrate on the league.

We literally have it in our hands.

Lineup killed the game not whether we're pessimistic or lowering expectations.

Lineup fvcked us up.

Immediately I saw that lineup, I just knew if this game hard us(which was possibly expected) there's no one I can confidently call that would change game
That first half pain me sha... At least Havertz was making runs and we're creating chances. Arteta left it too late before he moved Havertz to CF.

I don shout this thing tire but I'll say it again. It is high time we start going orthodox way anytime we're looking for a goal.

Towards the end of that Liverpool game, VVD moved to the box while Endo and MacAllister were playing defence. And the crosses kept coming in from both wings.

I always lose my cool anytime we're chasing a game and saka is busy playing tikitaka on the wing. Wipe that ball inside the box FFS.

Partey for Jorginho, I agree but we wouldn't still have attacked them effectively cos all valid attackers are gone(Jesus, Trossard, Odegaard)

I doubt Viera would dou zilch and the rest of Havertz, Nketiah no go do anything.

That's my point
Saka and Martinelli were still on the pitch so we still have valid attackers on the pitch.

Vieira definitely would have been more effective than ESR.

Few days ago, I know I mentioned Mostob to say most arsenal fans aren't criticizing Havertz like that again cos of his CF position.

We could see how we struggled especially in the 2nd half. Havertz can't even hold ball down if person near am.

Omorr this match pain me sha
There is a thin line between pessimistic and lowering expectations. The latter was the reason behind that post I made about going again next season. Havertz will be serving 2-game suspension in EPL.

That's a disadvantage sha... Might turn out to be a big blow.

Partey and Viera wouldn't have done things in this match. The removal of Odegaard even scattered everything

We needed someone to attack their defence not buildups from back cos we're not lacking that — GJ and Trossard. Same thing like Bayern
Before you can attack their defence as you said, you must be the one with possession. With Odegaard out, we lost the ball many times. This is where Partey and Vieira would have been effective. We needed to hold possession which ESR and Jorginho couldn't do.

I think we all agreed Harvertz in midfield is short one?

Arteta dey learn from his mistakes so?
Havertz is definitely better at CF than in midfield but that's not really a problem today. We just failed to convert our chances.
