That doesn’t mean he isn’t good enough to play for Napoli ,it simply means he is playing for a big club like Napoli doesn’t mean he is a complete player yet I already corrected him but the guy no wan hear. I'm not a professor but Ikpeba was clear enough. |

daveP: Right now, the team is not that talented enough to exclude her. If she was in the days of akide, maybe this would be a good idea. Although, i see valid angle to this, i just don't think it would make things better for the team off and on the pitch. Factions has been existing way before she even went for her 2nd Wafcon. Women tinz.
Besides they fight too in camp. Bo be only her o.
Rumors have it that Ebi is the team snitch. Its a strong rumor. What a time We can afford to leave her out please. Benzema, Ozil and Auba are examples. Kanu,Ajibade,Onumomu..., in fact we have plenty. We will miss her though but if leaving her out is the best decision, they should go ahead please |

Like you rightly affirmed, the captain's hand band isn't he birthright, but the communication should have been done properly. Agreed..but the way she is going about it is wrong. The captaincy will still come back to her later. |

AkinDS: Its about the very poor and childish manner the decision was made. The stupid NFF didn't even have the common decency or intelligence to discuss it with Oshoala first, before broadcasting it in the media. Do you know how embarrasing that is, not only to Oshoala and her family, but to her Falcon team mates and Barcelona team mates and all her fans. This NFF under Amaju Pinnick is beyond incompetent. We all know it's unfair but the way she reacted is even more childish. Imagine the nonsense she is posting on Twitter... It's also embarrassing to the super falcons and the entire players too. She needs to calm down |

AkinDS: Typical Nigerian leadership - they will take whats working well and Bleep it up!
Oshoala and Onome were very good friends but because some bastard in the NFF wanted to feel important, that person said Oshoala was being overwhelmed by the weight of the captaincy. Now this has caused bad blood in the team. I mean, don't people grow into leadership positions like the captaincy of a team? Oshoala is as professional as they come and knows how to balance both responsibilities, as team captain and player.
I am quite disappointed in Onome - she could have declined, especially since her friend was being stripped of the captainship. That was very immature of her. Let's hope this doesn't have bad repercussions for the team during the AWFCON later this year. were oshoala and Oparanozie not friends too? Why didn't she rejected the band when Oparanozie was stripped? The excuse that she is overwhelmed by the weight of captaincy is kind of valid since she has regressed since she started wearing the band. And also, when last did she start a match for us? Somebody needs to shoulder this responsibility. |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 9:09pm On Apr 07, 2022 |
BascoVanVeli: So stripping her of the captain band through the media brings the team together right? She has every right to feel upset. The only story here is the unprofessionalism of the NFF Everybody knows it's unfair.. Also,it's a well known fact that she has not been at her best since she was made the captain... If the NFF has a hand in it, she should direct her Jibes at them. Indirectly insulting her teammates will cause disunity in the team. When Oparanozie was stripped off too albeit controversially, she collected the band without any fuss... Now it's her the , she is crying on SM. She should swerve abeg |

Meliforme: We may not always have the same perspective on issues, that is the reason why dissention and criticism is allowed, but criticisms can go overboard, Ikpeba was very wrong when he insinuated that Victor is not yet the player that can play for Napoli. He said "forget he is playing for Napoli". He took a dig at Osimhen.
I wish he had only said Osimhen is not yet a finished article, and ended it there. Please...don't twist it abeg.. Victor Osimhen is a good player but is not yet a finished article, forget he’s playing for Napoli.@ the bolded, Ikpeba was implying that the fact that Osimehn is playing for Napoli doesn't mean he is a finished article. In other words, he needs to work more harder. Tha statement was simple and precise... |

humility33: And when the elders choose not to respect himself he will be disrespected
This players deserve to be encouraged, the criticism from this 1994 set is getting too much as if they won the world cup during their playing days not even a Qfinals berth. The other one made a naughty remark about foreign born players as if they're not Nigerians the other day and this one is vilifying Victor for doing what he thinks best in the field of play that day Bro...to be honest, I understand some of these 1994 goons can be inconsiderate and rude at times but what Ikpeba said about Osimehn is just a normal stuff...it sounds more like an advice than criticism to me. Osimehn's response was too disrespectful abeg...he needs to calm down. |

JohnBullMySon: So some people here really think Oshoala talking about Ikpeba that is not even in the NFF in a side Instagram comment is the reason she was removed as captain?
How una take dey reason sef
FYI, the new captain has been captain for a while now because of Oshoala's injury. Oshoala has not been playing well in the GWG since she became captain, meanwhile the new captain has been the captain fora while now. She is also the oldest and most capped with the highest world cup experience (Five World Cups).
The Super falcons have a match tomorrow which Oshoala will still not feature due to injury so the coach finally decides to make it official and yet for some people, a side Instagram comment looks like it's the reason.
I just tire for you pple oh Thank you..it's unconnected. Also, she has been poor since she was made the captain so the coach felt giving another person the band might reduce the weight on her. Finito |

Speaking on Supersport, Ikpeba had criticised the 23-year-old saying, “Victor Osimhen is a good player but is not yet a finished article, forget he’s playing for Napoli. Some of those crosses he might have controlled instead of trying to do a bicycle kick. “He’s still a young player but I hope that he can improve where he is in Napoli and help the national team in the future. He needs to understand when to play the ball and when to play bicycle kicks.”
Well, to me..there is nothing wrong with Ikpeba's statement. Victor needs to calm down and learn. He is not a finished article yet. Make Oshoala sef calm down... |
