You have a point on the issue of luck.
Know that Club trophies cannot be celebrated by your root/home country, only National Tournaments can.

And Maradona didn't shoulder Argentina from the QF to glory or Zidane didn't do same in 98 WC

To me, messi is the greatest in his time, never of all time
you may be right but you should remember football thrives on luck, Messi had been to 3 finals and lost all. who did you think shoulder the responsibilities? The reason why he is referred to as GOAT is because, what he fails to achieve with his NT, he make it up at club level. And, when all his laurels both with NT and club are combined together, he triumph.

Its not until a player scores an hat trick before you acknowledge how good he is..
Ronaldo helped Portugal reach the final...

And you are blaming Higuain and Co for Messi's failure to win the world cup... i thought he was the goat? why would he need his teammates help to win?
Portugal was just lucky...and, how many goals did CR7 scored? what was his overall performance? Dude was given silver boot and dash his teammate like say na piece of trash.Yes ,I blame Higuain and Co. simply because they didn't turn up when needed.

There was a match i watched Argentina play after the world cup..it was a friendly,Messi did not play...i was surprised that Argentina could play such beautiful, purposeful, team football...Icardi,Rodriguez of Inter,Dybala,Pavon,etc....i was bliss watching them tongue
bro, funny enough..team tends to performe well in messi 's absence. I can still remember the 5-1 trashing of Madrid. But whenever messi is on the field, the teammates will be like ' just give him the ball' .That is Argentina's problem.

The upcoming Copa America might just be his last chance!
All the excuse of him playing with a crappy Argentina team doesn't hold water!
Ronaldo won the euros with an average Portugal team too

Messi was in World Cup '10 with one of the best squads in the tournament likewise @ 2014

Maradona's time had France, England etc. In summary, all the greats beat the best to earn the Legend
he was just unlucky to lose the final.Yes, Argentina had the best team then but which of them showed up? Aguero was not at his best, Di Maria got injured and Higuain was missing chances like tomorrow no dey. Team efforts always prevail over team quality.

My expectation for Cyprus cup is that I want to see a more cohesive attack play. Lets see if the coach can improve the midfield to attack connection. We should do well against these teams as we are now more organised. Oshoala will have a lot of joy.
Am I the only one who think Oshoala should be given free role... She seems more mature than the other players.

Meanwhile, I'm tipping Bubu for the win.

Notice how nobody responded to this? grin grin grin

Truth is the boy is struggling. Last time I pointed out that he had a bad game, people came at me.

We've seen it all before; The hype train. grin grin
I think you need to know the difference between HYPE and COMMENDATION . Nobody hyped him here, it was the Spanish people that commend his dazzling form then. And ,him not starting a match is not because he is poor, I think it is because of the contract he refused to sign.
thanks

Starboytwo:
im not the problem boss, and it's not the players fault either.... Where is the facility.. Do we have any system... What is the update of our principal cup competition huhdo we have a system to integrate and monitor young ones from the onset... In Nigeria it's a jungle... Nobody will discover or help you... I know many of my guys and teammate who are wasted talents... How many I Wan count... So I'm 25 and playing, training all day, all night... And I got an opportunity to make my life better and you expect me to say Im 25.... We just gotta do what we gotta do... I'm just happy it's gradually toning down lately... There's is nothing you or me can do about it... Look at Neymar, Ronaldo, hazard blah blah you can always see the transition from u10, 13,15 17,20,23 etc... Clubsides snap them young and nurture them.. You'd here stories of how flamengo, Santos or one club took them when they were younger.... Tell me have you ever heard where eyimba or kano pillars snap up a young prospect and nurture them, tell me shay the players for enyimba or kano pillars fc don chop, talk less of under 13 or 15...here you nurture yourself till you break out, if you get injury nko ko Kan aiye na ur mama problem be that... It's extremely hard for a Real 17 years or a true u20 to break out themselves in this country... Abi no be Nigeria we dey again....

If we are really serious about real age then go to secondary schools and get the real ones, but if it's still the same ol find your way football till you make it, then I'm afraid we still gonna get the same 25 years as u20 and so on...
I salute you bro....me ,I don't care about age, na result be the koko.
