Golan007: In one case, the judges and the jury found him guilty.
Yet it is the DA that had to take the flack.
Nobody was targeted.
It was an isolated case. It wasn't an isolated case. The charges were later proven false and dismissed by the trial judge, but upheld under appeal on technicality. Because Harris declined to withdraw prosecution |

iLoveYouToo: How many whites did she put in jail?
Were the blacks guilty? What about the people who were acquitted through her counsel? You act like white people do not commit crime. We are talking about putting black people in jail for long term for stuff like smoking marijuana. The public humiliation of black parents if their kids missed school. The New York times did an article about her time as a prosecutor. It was a disaster |

Namaster: Black people, especially Africans, who support Trump suggest that there may be some elements of TRUTH to the pseudo-stats that black people are the DUMBEST race in the world.
White pepple have an excuse for supporting Trump: RACISM.
But the ONLY reasons a black person would support Trump is STUPIDITY and SELF-HATRED.
Trump LOATHES black people. And he doesn't even bother to hide it.
Plus, the fact that a RAPIST, pedophile and serial ADULTERER like Donald Trump is being adopted by CHRISTIANS as their champion is perhaps the GREATEST argument for why religion is a SCAM.
ALSO, people who Trump is strong because he's LOUD and CANTANKEROUS are IDIOTS.
A strong man would NOT eagerly clutch at a FAKE Taylor Swift endorsement then turn around to say he HATES Taylor Swift after she REJECTED him for Harris.
Kamala Harris played their "strong man" like Talking Drum in the debate.
A strong man that is ONLY a strong man when people PANDER to him is NOT a strong man.
Finally, Nigerians who harbour a HATRED for the Democratic Party because they think Obama interfered with Nigerian elections are MORONS.
I remember the RUMOUR.
They claimed Obama and the US worked against Goodluck Jonathan because he REFUSED to legalise GAY marriage in Nigeria. That instead Obama supported Buhari, the ISLAMIC FANATIC.
FOOLS! Everybody is a fool you are the smartest person on earth because you support Kamala Harris |

Golan007: She found innocent men on the road, rounded them up, and sentenced them to prison?
Or she had a job as a state attorney, and did her job? The New York times wrote an article about her time as a prosecutor where her policies targeted black men. In one case a black man was given 70 years for a crime he didn't commit. Harris declined to withdraw prosecution even though he was not guilty. Under Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harris tried to reduce the number of school dropouts that end up in prison. This was, perhaps, a noble effort, navigated catastrophically. Under her truancy law, parents could be penalized at the discretion of the school administrator; of course, prosecutors could bring charges against parents, and parents could see a year in jail, plus a $2,500 fine. The results? Life-altering criminal records and financial burdens often falling on single-parent heads of mostly Black and brown households. Pls go read her records with the black community |

One of the reasons Harris is not popular among blacks is because she put many black men in jail.
She herself was a prosecutor that wanted to put Micheal Jackson in prison for life. |

One thing I like about US elections is that, the speeches are inspiring from both parties.
Here in Nigeria, the leaders don't have energy and just eat corn anywhere they go to.
No inspiring speeches, no motivation |

ALTERNATEID: With Bitcoin ETF, there is no Alt season again. New coins with hype and Meme coins will pump occasionally and that’s all. BTC will continue to dominate the market and suck liquidity out of every crypto. Follow BTC and have peace of mind. That is not true. Bitcoin ETF just reduced the volatility of btc. There will still be alt season. But this cycle is all about memecoins The reason is that investors are tired of altcoins because they are VC pump and dump, the VC usually dumps on investors. This cycle altcoins will do good but not like they did in 2021. Memecoins on solana will pump as btc pumps .in price. |

TheStrongest: The guys at Jumia are not just creative in terms of business. They're just pro tech guys, business-wise they're not creative at all..
Africa/Nigeria is an emerging market, many existing successful businesses outside Africa can be copied and replicated here. You'll get that initial buzz and the name, but only creativity will keep you in the market long-run.
Indians are doing the same, copying existing techs and replicating it for the Indian market.
We don't really have creative creators here, or the creative ones are yet to start up something.
Jumia is supposed to be a profitable business if done right. A simple introduction of ads for sellers would increase profit for the brand.
Merchant awareness is poor. Most small business owners don't know they can create a store and sell on Jumia, even the ones that knows don't know how.
A marketplace is not a build and forget business model, it requires constant innovation and creativity. You've copied the blueprint, then what next? How do you go from here?
See the likes of payporte, abeg, konga, where are they now? They just copied the blueprint and build it. But you can only copy what you see, the inner workings of the business you can't copy that. It is left for you to use your creative mind and go from there. have you ever run any business before? |

kettykin: Amazon has barely made profit since it was founded. It is a very thin margin business.
However, Amazon's financial situation began to shift, and it started reporting consistent profits in the mid-2010s. The company's growth in its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing division significantly contributed to its profitability. AWS has been a major driver of Amazon's earnings, often offsetting lower margins in its e-commerce operations.
Today, Amazon is a profitable company, though its profit margins in retail remain lower compared to the high margins from services like AWS and advertising.
Since jumia is in the same line of e-commerce business like Amazon. The smart thing is to copy their cloud offerings and other services pls always come with facts before typing Amazon is profitable and their main source of income is still their ecommerce https://ir.aboutamazon.com/news-release/news-release-details/2024/Amazon.com-Announces-Fourth-Quarter-Results/default.aspx |

kettykin: Jumia like Amazon is not supposed to be profitable. They should develop other strategy and streams of income like a cloud based business like aws. A streaming service etc. Warehousing and logistics business who told you that Amazon is not profitable Jumia was created to be profitable but their business model had some flaws they actually have been profitable before you are right about diversification to other services, they did that before but lost lot of money |

Simeonjoe1: Even without crypto. A good buy of transcorp would have generated x20 now. Just 2 years ago transcorp has done x10 now it is simple maths. if someone buy 1000 unit of shares at 20 naira, in 2 years if that company share price increases to 100 Naira, how much do you think the person would have made, the answer is 100k Now compare if you buy 10M worth of shares at 20 naira, in 2 years, if that company share price increases to 100 naira, how much do you think, you would have made. the answer is 1Billion that is how they make money. |

harjay1986: Not even that, ask yourself how many people really get paid substantial amount of money during 2000s Bank recapitalization that the bank are selling shares here and there.... the thing is that many people don't know how these thing work, there is buy and dump in Nigeria share just like in crypto world so if you are buying for long time your investment will be liquidated , the purpose is to buy for some month after of you see some kind of increment compared to when you buy you sell/dump immediately... but many leave it thinking if i leave it for some years like 30 years or 20 years my 10million naira will turn to 100million but in Nigeria your 10million will turn to 00kobo.... Oh My God Thank you for explaining it to people Crypto really gave me an idea of how investment works even for the concept of shares Buying shares is like trading crypto, you buy low and sell high for profit and move on you do not hodl your shares for ever because you do not know if the company will exist in the next 10 years |
Investment › Re: My Father's Dividend After 11years Of Investing In Transcorp Shares by motymop: 9:22pm On Oct 16, 2024 |
harjay1986: To me ooh, Government treasury bills or bonds are better for investment compare to buying shares... have seen some people who invested like 5million naira on shares since 2005 and buy now he has nothing because most of the big man who invested billions of naira on the same shares quickly dump it once the see a significant increment in the price there by liquidate the low income investors, that is when the company will be coming with the negative balance for the year and as negative keep coming you can't get your dividend and your share price will be reducing... but on treasury bills or bonds I can say specifically there is one that will even tells you how much you will earn when you buy certain amount of it ... like they will tell you if you invest 10million naira they will let you know that after the tenure of such bill you will receive let say 11million that means they pay u 10% of your investment if you want a safer investment, buy TB or bonds, you are right about it but you see buying shares, it is about volumes, that is why the rich investors always win because they can buy millions of shares and sell for profit, if the stock goes ups. Most big investors, do not hold their shares for long, they are comfortable with making double of their investment but you see those small time investors, they always want to buy 100 unit of a stock and make 1M naira, where is that possible? |
Investment › Re: My Father's Dividend After 11years Of Investing In Transcorp Shares by motymop: 9:16pm On Oct 16, 2024 |
1x2x3: Let's assume in 2009, someone purchased 2,000,000 shares at the rate of N2. This will be a total of N4M invested.
In 2024 which is 15 years later, the shares is currently at N11. 2,000,000 share = N22M + those petty dividends they paid.
Looks like a good investment.
Let's look at what who held dollar would have made just by putting N4M into dollars in 2009 when dollar was $150.
4,000,00 ÷ 150 = $26,666
In 2024, $1 = 1650
$26,666 x 1650 = N43, 998,900 (that's roughly twice the amount from shares in that company)
What about who gambled on BTC?
In 2009 bitcoin was $0.10
Just $1,000 would have given you 10,000BTC
In 2024, 10,000BTC = $672,344,400.
Only if we can see the future How much did you make from BTC BTC is now almost 65k, how many can afford it? if you put 500 naira in btc today, you wont make any good money in the next 10 years You people just talk any how Whether you invest in crypto or the Nigerian stock exchange, you need to buy in large volume Buying 1000 unit of a share or crypto wont make you any money but when you buy 50M unit shares of a good company, you are likely to make *3 in the coming years. if you are a trader, you are likely to make more every day, just by trading ever day in the stock exchange The same goes for crypto You make money when you buy in large volume |
