make no mistake in believing that you will be paid 10% in 90 days, the 10% is the % u will be paid per annum, so if the bank decides to give u 10 , then it means practically u will be paid 0.83% per month i.e 10 divided by 12. So for 90 days which is 3 months u will get 2.5% But you should know there is no fixed % a bank gives, it all depends on the amount and the power of your negotiating skills, but usually the range is 12-18% p.a, if u can negotiate for 18%, that will be paid 1.5% per month, which practically means 15,000 per month. |
No UK moneygram official gave any Nigerian to pick it up. The problem is that the receiver opened his email box in a computer installed already with a spyware (most likely in a cyber cafe) This problem occurs with Western union too. So every keystroke was sent to whoever installed it (he opened the recipient's box, copied the info and he made a fake id and picked the money up.) |
make no mistake in believing that you will be paid 13.5% in 90 days, the 13.5% is the % u will be paid per annum, so if the bank decides to give u 13.5% , then it means practically u will be paid 1.125% per month i.e 13.5 divided by 12. So for 90 days which is 3 months u will get 3.375% But you should know there is no fixed % a bank gives, it all depends on the amount and the power of your negotiating skills, but usually the range is 12-18% p.a, if u can negotiate for 18%, that will be paid 1.5% per month, which practically means 150,000 per month. |
I don't think they can open the dorm account without a current account, because if they are allowed to open a dorm account, they would still be required to have 2 references who currently maintain a current or dorm account in any bank in Nigeria. dorm accounts just like current accounts require references, unlike savings that doesn't require such ![]() |
The United States Consulate General in Lagos on Wednesday advised applicants seeking visa appointments with the embassy not to patronise “touts or middlemen.” Richard Walsh, the consular section chief of the U.S. embassy said this during a briefing on the renovation work being done on the consulate to create a more comfortable environment for visitors. “We have worked very hard especially in the last year with our partners to create a process that is more transparent and accessible to the public, but we continue to get reports from applicants that they are paying far more than they need to pay,” he said. According to Mr. Walsh, investigations by the consulate reveal that applicants are constantly duped by “touts” who parade themselves as middlemen for the embassy. “We found out that these applicants who pay up to N50,000 more than they are expected to pay, make these payments to these touts and middlemen in order to secure an appointment,” he said. “That is not necessary. I have emphasised this on most occasions that I meet with the press that you don’t need to use a tout or a middleman in order to make your appointments.” The visa application process Vicki Hutchinson, the management officer of the consulate, urged visa applicants to be sure of the requirements before making payments. “Applicants should visit the United States website to see the basic requirements necessary for an appointment before making payments,” Mrs. Hutchinson said. Mr. Walsh said the process requires applicants to pay an appointment fee in any branch of UBA for a specific code. “With the payment of that fee, there is a specific code or number given to that person, and that number is connected to a specific name or passport number. So to make the appointment, you need to have all that information; paying someone to do all that for you is your choice. But in my own opinion, I would say that you don’t have to pay someone as a middleman to do that, since everything is stated clearly on our website,” he said. “We have doubled our efforts to locate some of these touts and put a stop to their practices, but unless people are ready to work with us to get these touts, it won’t be that easy. So please anyone victimised by these touts should let us know, so as to enable us to trap them.” Improved customer services The consulate unveiled the renovated 100-seater capacity visa waiting room which, according to Mrs. Hutchinson, is meant to alleviate the plight of thousands of applicants who visit the consulate yearly. She said, “We are doing our best to keep the applicants as comfortable as possible, before they go inside for their visas.” SOURCE: 234NEXT |
In reality the market does not close on Saturday. But most, if not all online brokers, freeze their platform that day because usually activity is low and the movers (liquidity providers) like central banks, financial institutions, hedge fund managers are closed too. You need to understand that online traders only do electronically what the aboki's do on the street; though because naira is not as liquid as USD/GBP/EUR/AUD/NZD/JPY/CAD, most brokers don't offer naira as a currency pair on their platform. You know that if you want to exchange dollar on Saturday, aboki's will sell or buy from you. But i still think it is wrong for them to tell people they can trade on Saturday, unless they know any broker that allows that ![]() |
