The marked earnings growth was mainly driven by a 183% y/y growth in non-interest income, on the back of fx revaluation gains of N9.0bn in Q3 2018 vs. N428m for the comparable quarter of 2017. But for the 9billion fx revaluation gain PAT might have been only 3billion. |

DeRuggedProf: https://trwstockbrokers./2018/12/06/fcmb-receives-3mln-9mobile-debt/ These pple should read before posting. First City Monument Bank (FCMB) said on Wednesday that it had received $3 million as part of the proceeds from the sale of debt-laden telecoms firm 9mobile, which was seized by its lenders and sold to new investors.
In November, Teleology completed a takeover of 9mobile, the country’s fourth biggest operator, ending a long bidding process for the debt-laden company that started a year ago. FCMB has around $4 billion exposure to 9mobile, the bank said. Which kind $4billion |

rebekah2011: This is too small for the cash they need. This company is not serious. I don't think so. Lafarge debt is seriously falling. This is a quote from them, sometime in May this year: According to Balogun, its total debt dropped to about $600m from more than $1bn after using funds, including the proceeds of a N131bn ($361.7m) rights offer, to curb liabilities.
The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Bruno Bayet, said in April that the company planned to raise an additional N100bn when necessary. This rights issue, if successful will place the company in a very good position. |

Yayira: I can’t wait for Monday to call someone on this diamond bank least.. Trying not to jump into conclusions to avoid burning my fingers again..
Cash from UK subsidiary coming in National license with 5% off Dozie sounds very confident about their Eurobond Hmmm something tells me this bank ain’t dying anytime soon.. infact if pascal and his son can inject some cash, bank will be right back on track sooner. ...plus most their debtors are into oil and gas, with the recent rise in oil paying part should be a problem.. Can’t wait for their q4
@Jejebaba you said the stock is undervalued pls what’s the fair price? fxuser: - u get d feeling a new level of perception management push from d bank wt CBN blessing - friday price action in support Friday's volume also was an indication of something positive. 121million shares sold. |

maishai: There is something about this Eurobond debt that makes all Nigerian banks shiver except Gtbank....The worst part of most Nigerian bank debt is that they are all oil and gas based...Which Oil and gas companies did diamond bank borrow money o! after Japaul If not for those eurobonds, virtually all nigerian banks including GTB would have found it difficult doing business. In 2007 gtb had $800million Gdr, and as at 2016 they had eurobond of about $500million outstanding. https://www.gtbank.com/investor-relations/investor-news/gtbank-redeems-500-000-000-eurobond Zenith bank also does the same from time to time. Oil is the main stay of the economy. Oil business is highly dependent on promisory notes, future payments and loans. Oil debts are relatively easier to recover compared to others. Nig. Govt has contributed greatly to the current huge oil sector bad loans by delays or failures to repay fuel subsidy obligations. |

Mcy56: I hope you made such calculated risk too, seeing all stocks that performed well shedding price daily. Those that sold might have their reasons for selling too. Imagine someone with 5M unit of diemond @1.30, calculate his loss as of today. Now imagine same person having 3M of FCMB with all uncertainties surrounding the result, do you think such will not panic sell his holdings? It's only large investors whose sole aim is to invest, not minding any outcome can wait to see what FCMB was cooking o. Don't use diamond as example, use fidelity instead. Mist of us entered at average 1.6. Since then it has moved up to 2.08. Even with the shedding we are not in any loss. The most important thing is entry price. My stop loss on fidelity is 1.70, and that is not even a loss. [s]My transcorp is presently at my purchase price 1.11[/s] |

Mcy56: Such is life classmate. If it's the other way round dont you think it would have been bloody? That is one aspect of "Uncertainty" being referred to in Prof's "trading wisdom book". It is well. Truth is, only lucky few that didnt have it in their portfolio will actually make gain with the rise in price considering the height of the story building it was falling from before. Business is all about risk. Calculated risk. Fcmb look good to go. Their NPL and other ratios balanced well. But the so called heavy seller made pple entertain so much fear. Any way the bull in fcmb doesn't seem like one that would last for too long. They can reenter at 1.65- 1.7 |
