onegentleguy: Given the discount of a more than fair enough margin of inherent risk(including a possible deterioration/downside in asset quality from the acquisition of diamond) and at the back of an assumed zero growth in the near term, I have a FV estimate of N11.90. ...and quite frankly, this is me been cautiously optimistic with estimated figures in ACCESS' 2018 FY print.
But then again, the market will have to determine and champion things from here.
NOTE: Just a guide, NOT A RECOMMENDATION. My advise; Pls follow ur instinct. Take away those risk factors and fair value should be 25 |

onegentleguy: Unconfirmed report reaching me from some strong source has it that following from the court sanction of the ACCESS-DIAMOND BANK merger today, the shareholders of DIAMOND who hitherto are QUALIFIED for the 7 for 2 equivalent share allotment in the enlarged entity will also be eligible for the 25k FY 2018 dividend declaration by ACCESS bank.
Again, this lends credence to my several ealier assertions and analysis that the then shareholders of DIAMOND are the biggest winners of this merger. On the flip side, this will only aid with pushing further up the price of ACCESS as the DIAMOND shareholders who qualify now have something to make them 'wait/hold a bit longer' without selling off their stake in the new enlarged bank(ACCESS) post merger. ...ACCESS closed on massive bid @ N6.50 today. Like I always said then, Mr DIAMOND wins pre merger, while Mr ACCESS 'resurrects'(to win) post merger. There is a mutual exclusivity with the terms of the merger.
It is well !!
cc: @Mpeace Wow. Thats great news. This is what we call jara. Thank you so much sir. |

Diamond shares should be going on technical suspension any time soon. Merger concluded earlier than expected. Will we still see diamond's disaster of a result this year? |

otokx: I don't think so, those guys are stingy. them stingy no be small. Last year was the worse. They made about 18billion in profit after tax, eps of 65kobo but only paid 11kobo as dividend. In other words, out if 18billion pat they could only pay 3billion as dividend. Lets watch them this year. The are poised to make upto 25billion in pat. Lets see how much they pay. |

OBAGADAFFI: Correct.
I was even shocked Access is paying Diamond shareholders N1, i can't remember Access paying her shareholders N1.
Something strange in going on in that bank. Hey no spoil mata for us. We the diamond bank shareholders/prospective Access bank shareholders hereby state that we are not complaining. Diamonds don't come cheap. On a more serious note, Access bank actually bought diamond bank at a very low cost. Check how much the nationalized banks like mainstreet., keystone and enterprise bank were sold for. They were not even in better condition than diamond. Skye bank bought mainstreet bank for 126billion naira. That's nothing compared to 24billion naira and 6billion shares Access is paying for diamond. If diamond had gone under, and the whole thing allowed to be done in a bidding process, Access might not even have won the bid. It would have gone to "friends of govt" at a higher price. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 12:07pm On Mar 15, 2019 |
aremso: with diluted shares post merger, will they ever have the same EPS? I think they can. Remember the dilution involves 6billion additional units. That should lift their OS to about 35billion same with UBA, FBNH etc. If they do well in 2019 they should match that EPS. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 10:27am On Mar 15, 2019 |
Mcy56: The dividend might be small cos of the buy over. Is Loco in Access? I agree with you. The cost of the Diamond deal payout is just above 24 billion naira. So they just took some from their normal dividend payout of 50kobo, thus paying 25kobo instead.t he rest should come from their excellent profit for 2017. Loco said sometime that he was joining access over Diamond. Don't kW if he left on time. |

Mcy56: Lol. We are all students here o. You will still qualify for diamond goodies, only that we dont know how market will react to Access FY report. If Access is affected, diamond might be affected too. So you position to enter diamond at lower price if that's the case. Market don't like that access dividend. The reaction is not good. 5.55. I hope Loco jumped out on time oh. |
