teezpee: Just thinking, do we have any rule in Nigeria that prevent companies from share buyback?
What we see around here is share reconstruction...whenever companies have messed up with large shares outstanding.
Will like to be tutored on this please... Na company wet get money fit buy back. Transcorp with all its debts cannot afford to be buying back at this point in time. |

tritritri: Dat strategy i did last 2yrs barely return enuf profit compare to other strategies.. Half of my portfolio is value stock. while half is penny. the lost in value stock is worst dan d penny......I doubt many dey on gain dis year.. starting from JAN 2019. Its not ideal to put huge fund in penny stocks. Its hard to take profit cos you might not find enough buyers to take all your holdings at once. See how that guy with 80million units of transcorp on offer totally killed our full bid of over 72million bids/0 offer. Full bid that was supposed to last for two weeks. Just because he wanted to bail out. I am not even sure he succeeded in bailing at his desired junction. |

But 500,000 units would surely cost a lot. Recall that some here have posted 80-95 as potential share price. Only time will tell. |

Yayira: @ Mpeace did olam give/offer any particular price? I want to know how people got 26 and 19.95 I don't know how oh. But I can remember something like discounting debts and so on from the offer price of 26. I think thats why the share has refused to touch 20, which would even give some 30% if the offer was 26 |

edwardaigb: This might be a blessing. I doubt if the bolded is true. That is, I doubt the claim of excessive charges to the tune of 18.7 billion naira, and $94million. If you put that sum together you have about 51billion naira in excessive charges. I doubt that japaul paid 50billion in excessive charges on a loan of 47billion naira owed access bank (comprising 14billion to access bank and 33billion to former Diamond bank) Note that as at the time in January when the suit was commenced, it was just Access bank loan of 14billion that was in issue. So the writer of that article is alleging that japaul paid excessive charges of 50billion on a loan of 14billion. I doubt that too much, more so that japaul's yearly revenue is not even up to average of 3billion per annum. I think this is fake news just like the milost one. I just pray pple's investment don't get burnt at the end. |

DaV8King: Hate to say this but I agree with Peterichy.
As soon as Transcorp acquired the Abuja Hilton, the share price spiked. Next thing we knew, Tony and co listed Transcorp Hotels. Today, it trades at more than 5x parent's value.
Make what you can from the spike then withdraw. Medium to long term and based on Tony's antecedents, I expect Transcorp Power to go PLC. It is finally of the right size.
Again, Holdco shareholders will be shafted! Not entirely true. Transcorp hotel had to be listed because the federal Government has shares in the hotel. I am not too sure now but i think transcorp only bought 76% or there about, of transcorp hotel. |

Godlylifeoneart: Good morning members, Dz week will be dominated with transcorp gist. It's no longer a news that Transnational corporation power consortium won the bid for Afam power. AT competitive bid of NGN105. 3B With balance sheet Q1 at
Total Assets 297.0 Total Liabilities 192.0 Debt to Assets 37.54%
The implication of dz, Transcorp might turn to financial for loans, local or foreign loans at a higher interest rate or they might placed a private equity placement like access bank did. The commercial banks are not impressed with the power sector, A good % of the loans granted at the inception of power privitisation were declared toxic, non performing and impaired in some cases. GT bank requested for an equity in some power firms, dz was declined. The scenario 2,Transcorp might float a public offering... Would dz succeed? Judging from the successful
Public Offer of 8,000,000,000 ordinary shares of 50k each at N7.50 per share by Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc December 27, 2006 to January 31, 2007. Nigerians who participated in the offering are still biting their fingers and somehow the investing public lost interest in public offering. Should Transcorp seek a loan or bond? It means the company will work for banks for a long time, using profit to service loans. The best strategy is for transcorp to convince the investing public to key into this gold offer. My final take on transcorp.... A stock for JIJO, might not be ideal for long-term and dividend investors NGN100, 000 invested in 2006 excluding dividends is now about NGN 14,666 at the closed of business on 30/04/19.
What is your view? Uba go pay. No need to stress the brain. |

Mcy56: The thing is, its a plus and major feat for transcorp and it's been officially announced. Even if the northern journey is not immediate, its still very certain transcorp is going up. Power is a major issue in the country and owing 100% of Afam can only point to northern movement. My newbie's opinion. Remember, Mr. Market has a mind of its own.
