lol, what a thread I was an extreme introvert while growing untill after 2 years in the uni. Mehn, those days where terrible. People form an opinion about you which you know is not true but cannot defend it just because you cannot talk. Remembering how you failed in your last attempt to talk gets you more afraid of meeting new people and things get even more complicated. Then knowing you can't relate well with others erodes your self confidence and you take a plunge into inferiority complex. Though I am still introverted but the extreme side of it is no more. My change started when I started building my self esteem. I started loving me. I started forgiving myself when I fail in an attempt to relate with people while believing I will do better next time. I understood there is more to life than talking and the pressure to talk better gave way. I discovered my personal way of conversation and stuck to it and stopped wishing I did it like the other person. My confidence kept rising until I almost became borderline proud. Though I still keep to myself most times but making and keeping friends is just easy to me except I don't want to associate with the person. I still don't talk much but I've got no problems saying whatever I want to say. People who are not close to me say I am quiet but those close say I am nowhere near quiet. Don't even know which one to believe. Its cool being an introvert if you've got your self esteem intact. A lot of extroverts will be intimidated around you, trust me |

bisdansun: My dear the call of God is not a childs play. I left my schooling abroad and my biz to come back home to answer this call. if really God called him, he much have to find out about the following. What did God call you to do ( because everybody is called) where did he ask you to go ( remember Abraham) When did he ask you to begin ( Abraham stated at 75 years, Jesus stated at 30. And always know that God lives in enternity and we live in time, when he speaks to you it comes with such urgency. check new believers and their morning cry) If you have find out the above next things will be to describe your calling with one word so you can have one purpose and vision When you talk of Bishop Oyedepo , you think of his faith messages when you talk of Benny hinn , you think of miracles when you talk of rehad bonky ( sorry i didn't get the right speeling) you think of evangelism
I admire your courage and faith but it can only be rewarded if God asked you to drop out. I have a friend who after his service God ask him to burn his cert but today he is glad he did. I will advice him to comtuine his education and ask God questions , when he has answers he can go and do as instructed by God.

shdemidemi: I don't think I chose christianity cos i was born into a christian family..... if anything, being from a christian family was one thing i hated the most, growing up. Although, I won't deny the influence my family had on me which raised the quest and hunger to know what the fuss was all about.
I was a true renegade until I had personal encounters that needed something more than what my physical strength or know how could solve. I decided to visit all sorts of churches as long as they had church written on their walls. My initial intention was how to solve my personal problems, but I became more hungry for God as times went by than the solution to my problems.
After checking a few churches, i got to a place where God was taught like He should be taught. I realised the edge christianity has over any other religion that is around, be it judaism, Islam etc.
Christianity painted me as who i really am- wicked and evil and how I can never meet the perfect standard of God. It explains how God Himself had to redeem me from death and condemnation by paying a price that demanded Him to be beaten, spat on, rejected, disgraced and killed by those He created.
I do not see a place for rancor or wars in christianity cos it humbles me so much that I would love to adhere to any law of this God that did so much for my soul. So inspiring I noticed most of the atheist that claim they were once christians were simply born in christian homes and think that's all it takes to be a christian. |

nep2ra: This is where the world's major religions get it wrong.
The 'God' that exists is not the exclusive reserve of one race or people.
This is the root of the religious problems we face. There is no Jewish God, Arab God, Hindu God e.t.c
My refusal to NEVER lay claim to a Jewish 'God' or be connected to a Jewish heritage is what made me drop Christianity.
Enjoy your day folks You were never a christian, you only thought you were. In the midst of many gods, God has to define Himself. He called Himself 'God of Abraham' He is not the God of your forefathers. Your forefathers worshipped idols. Its unfortunate bro |

Op if your part faith isn't enough to part with the money, then admit it, pray about it and do just that you are strong enough to do.
The Bible said 'even when we are without faith He remains Faithfull ' |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin If I Spend My Tithe For This Month And Pay Back The Next Month? by mployer(m): 12:41pm On Jul 23, 2014 |
CORDROSS: First, let's look at the purpose of the tithe. The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is. Matthew 6:21 says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." When we are able to give 10% or more of our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn't tied to our money and that we love God more than our money. The Bible mentions money over 800 times and of all of Jesus' parables, more than half of them talked about money. Why? Because that is where so many people get tripped up! When we are able to release at least 10% of our income back to God, our money doesn't have as tight of a hold on us because we realize that God is in control of our finances. We remember that everything we have has been given to us by Him. Even though most of us probably work for the money we make each month, even God has his hand there - He has given us the ability to do our jobs. Many who grasp what God has truly given them seem to agree that 10% doesn't even feel like enough! We are not saved by works, thus failing to tithe will not necessarily send you to hell, but doing so will help improve your life and strengthen your relationship with God. I personally don't believe that God will curse us if we don't tithe, but I do believe He will help us escape the curse that is already in the world if we do. Of special note is the fact that tithing evokes a blessing from God and the failure to tithe invokes a curse from God (under the Mosaic Law).... So in summary, 'Giving' is a New Testament 'Church' Principle as opposed to tithing by Law (by compulsion.) Jesus clearly commanded (take note that it was not an option) that we have to give to God. Matt 22:21 21 "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." (NIV) "What is God's" implies a fixed sum. BUT we must remember that Jesus made the above statement in the context of the Mosaic Law which was still existent in His Time. Further on in the epistles, the Apostle Paul qualifies this "giving" as "from the heart" and proportionate to the degree that one is blessed. He specifically spoke against "compulsion" (from sources outside). Manipulating a person to give (whether directly or indirectly) is a form of witchcraft........... 2 Cor 9:7 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (NIV) Emphasis mine "What he has decided in his heart to give" clearly has to be some amount (not zero). It may be ten percent or more. Well, it may even be less, but give as the Holy Spirit directs your heart So, I will conclude by sayings that ALWAYS TAKE YOUR TITHE BEFORE ANY SPENDING. It saves you a great deal. That has been my option and it has helped me greatly.
I culled some details from different preacher and I also added mine... I hope this helps. But I know from the old Testament that when you eat your Tithe you may have to repay with 20% of what you ate (If your Tithe is 10,000.00 upon repayment you will repay NGN 12,000.00).
The Lord will strengthen you and make your helper locate you. Remain Blessed. In as much as I support tithing I don't think writing all these to make him part with money without his heart in it is necessary Much emphasis on tithing makes it look like God is in need of money. |

Op is saying what he know nothing about. Jesus said to his disciples ' ask and it shall be given to you so that YOUR JOY WILL BE FULL.'
Peace and fullness of joy is the centre of the christian life. It is the joy that springs out into a fountain of joy touching the souls within.
The joy op is referring to is the short-lived and doomed type of joy. Even non-religious moralist will surely go against such evil practice you call merriment.
A man that sleeps with your wife is definitely enjoying himself but we know you won't need religion to descend on him. |
