Christianity Etc › Re: In Between Old Testament And New Testament, which One Out Of The Two Is Ideal ... by mployer(m): 6:34pm On Jul 14, 2014
Both are needed to have a balanced Christian life. One tells you how it used to be, the other tells you how it is presently. Both are needed for a better understanding of the life we are called to live.
Christianity Etc › Re: Between Goshen And Joeagbaje: Who Would You Listen To? by mployer(m): 6:26pm On Jul 14, 2014
I think Joe has more profound knowledge and experience in the ways of God and the personality of a true Christian than Goshen.

Goshen too is good but he applies logic sometimes to drive home his point.

EMILO2STAY: john 8:32. Then you will the truth and the truth shall set you free. Pls mr define gospel.
Gospel is good news. It is bringing the news of the redeeming power of Jesus Christ to the dieing world. It is no bigotry nor senseless argument.
Christianity Etc › Re: Design An Anti-Tithe Tract for £50 by mployer(m): 5:42pm On Jul 14, 2014
There is no sincerity in this whole stuff except to cause confusion. I am not against nor in support of tithing but this kind of thread isn't necessary. Why not put up a contest for designing regular gospel tract instead of controversial ones like this.

spicykev: tenk u so much
No tanks.
That's exactly what the devil intend doing. Bring you to this point and then feed you the wrong info.
Reflect on the times you've experienced God's goodness, be grateful for them and believe in His unchanging nature. That's what God wants you to do now. He wants you to learn how to trust. If you've seen his hand before, you will surely see it again

Christianity Etc › Re: Have U Ever Felt Like God Has Abandoned You? by mployer(m): 10:12am On Jul 13, 2014
There is nothing strange in what you are going through, it is a phase in spiritual growth. Search for the words 'tests' and 'trials' and see how many times it was used in the Bible. Your Christianity isn't complete without it. Check all the great Bible characters and you will find it in all of them.

Btw, in our various places of work, we go through some trainings or accomplish some difficult task before landing that enviable promotion, how then do you want to have spiritual promotion without some tests and trainings?

Be calm, the end will be glorious. I have been there a couple of times and the result didn't disappoint.

Use force clearly show lack of truth. If it is the truth it is capable of surviving on its own.

Reiyvinn: re-read the post you quoted and your reply again dude..... Do we always have to repeat everything?!
Oh, I was actually responding to the part you called me a bad follower.

Prayer is one of the attributes of good following; that is praying in faith and submission, not some fear-induced and self-centered kind of prayer. Though I practice the later sometimes and that explains the imperfect follower I am.

Again prayer isn't necessarily asking for favor, its communing with God we love so much.

We all demand attention in our various earthly love relationships, So how can we claim to love God and make no time to commune with him?
Christianity Etc › Re: God's Omniscience. God's Problem. by mployer(m): 10:05pm On Jul 11, 2014
Reiyvinn: So you agree that praying is totally irrelevant and undermines the Omniscience of God, right?

I guess the case's settled then.
My post didn't imply that, don't know where you got it from.
Christianity Etc › Re: God's Omniscience. God's Problem. by mployer(m): 8:32pm On Jul 11, 2014
mmsen: People are victims of violent crime everyday.

So if we are to believe xtian dogma that god is the author and origin of all then that too would be a part of his grand plan.
I don't know where You got that from, It is not Biblical. God is not responsible for all happenings on earth.

Ask yourself, could He also be responsible for the temptations of Jesus christ?

Can You have such plans for your Child? He said 'I know the plans I have for You, plans to do You good and bring You to an expected end'

Evil Is Never part of Gods plan for anyone, its not in His character

I pray so I Will be in sync with Him. So my thoughts and actions Will align with His Will for me. In that way I Can obey, understand and enjoy his blessings.
Christianity Etc › Re: Fear, An Essential Ingredient Of Worship? by mployer(m): 7:52pm On Jul 11, 2014
Onyegecha: Are you really sure of this? In my experience, they carry a heavy load of fear about and that is why every thing that happens is an attack and requires special prayers. Even a dead cockroach or lizard agitates the average Christian. I wonder where this spirit of boldness and sound mind are.
That is not christianity. Christianity is living the life of christ through the power of the résident Holy Spirit. You can't find anywhere christ succumbed to fear in the Bible, so how Can you claim to live his life and still tossed around by every threat? Though its normal to feel afraid sometimes but living the life of fear Is not normal for a Christian.
Christianity Etc › Re: Holy Spirit by mployer(m): 6:31pm On Jul 11, 2014
mazaje: Why do most christians disagree with each other over that the bible says?. . .What is the role of this body of the christian god whose duty is to explain thing to christians?. . .Why is the holy spirit explaining things differently to people and causing confusion?. . . Isn't this another evidence to show that nothing like the holy spirit exist but instead its just people making things and interpreting them on their own and self projecting their interpretation as that of god?. . .
Why Is your emphases on the few points of disagreement, what happened to the ones generally agreed upon.

God has a plan for you, he said so and you know it thus, the following statement:

shows impatience and lack of faith towards that plan God has for you, making you a bad follower.
I May be a bad follower but He is a good God. He understands my following isn't perfect but He is always patient with me. I think we all know about not throwing the Baby away with the Bad water.

plaetton: He he he.

Cliche'.

And a baby christian is what , or whom?
Does a baby christian believe in the right god, going to the right heaven?

Let me guess, a baby christian is one whose idea of god and god's nature and will is not as mature as yours, right?

It is always the other christian that is doing it wrong, just like it is always the other religion that has it wrong.

And so, what else is new?
yes, there is babyhood in christianity, I started from there Just like other mature Christian. Growth is by tests and trials and study of the Word. The issue of spiritual of growth Is made référence to many times in the Bible.

All genuine christians are genuine but their positions on the spiritual ladder are différent.

Choosing not to do something isn't inability to do it. A lot of people Can steal but chose not to cos its not right
Christianity Etc › Re: God's Omniscience. God's Problem. by mployer(m): 4:59pm On Jul 11, 2014
plaetton: Try again.
You have deliberately sidestepped the issue here.
We are talking here about prayers, asking or begging, a form of petition, a pleading, a mild form of protest to god to do better than he has, to give more, to intercede, to step up his game, to fulfill his contractual godly(?) obligations, to redeem faith points or tithe points earned, etc, etc.

On the other hand , everyone contributes to the fulfillment or lack thereof of their lives by the entire sum of their thoughts and actions.
If your own thoughts and actions include an invisible skydaddy, then good for you and good luck with that.
Many have opted out and are living meaningful and harmonious lives.
All those forms of prayer are often offered by baby christians and are often ignored for their best interest, Just like You would for your Child That makes unwholesome request despite your love for That Child.
Christianity Etc › Re: Fear, An Essential Ingredient Of Worship? by mployer(m): 4:49pm On Jul 11, 2014
macof: How to convert someone to christianity lays on your preaching about Jesus and his importance
"Jesus is the only way" "the Bible is the word of God" "the word is also Jesus and Jesus is God"
"only Jesus can grant escape from hell"

Bottom line is, you still going to Preach hell to put fear in people so they can be deceived and forced into thoughts like
"what would I gain if hell is real and Jesus is truly the only saviour? I had better just convert rather than gabble this thing"

But of course this applies to those who haven't known the Christian hypocrisy and lies like so many of us today
Tomorrow would even be better as the next generation would have even less dumb Africans into such foreign bullshiit
Jesus said ' I am the light of the world, He That follows me shall not walk in darkness'
He Is not here to help You escape hell, He's here to deliver You from the hell You are experiencing already. It Is called salvation.
Christianity Etc › Re: God's Omniscience. God's Problem. by mployer(m): 4:38pm On Jul 11, 2014
plaetton: Meaningless and contradictory nonsense.

If god has a plan for you, then prayer shows a lack of faith in either the existence of god , or the certainty of his plans for you.

If one believes that god certainly exists, that he certainly loves you and has certain plans for you(good or bad), then prayer is redundant and superfluous.

If a perfect god created a perfect universe, then There should be No Room For A Complainer or Petitioner In God's Perfect Universe.
when You have a child, you usually have some plans for that child right from birth. You Start from sending him to school, correcting and counseling him, trying to work with him to actually That dream. We all know There Is no realizing the dream without the childs contribution. But when it comes to God we expect a plan conceived and delivered all by Him without Our contribution for a plan meant for us.
