Australian PR is not only for Engineers, other occupations are eligible. Check the SOL/CSOL list to see if your occupation or related occupation is there or not. What is your current occupation? It is not enough just to be a graduate of English and literary studies to be eligible for it. You must be either a Teacher of English language or journalist etc.

hello nnbb, how are u? hw long have u been in australia now?

Lucky you, Health service and welfare manager is on CSOL list and it is sponsored by South Australia. You can check the requirements and take it up from there.

Also, Nutrionist is on CSOL list and it is sponsored by Qld only for visa 489. Check their requirements and take it up from there.

thank you NNBB, i saw some occs on d sol welfare centre manager, primary health organisation manager do this also pass?

I hope prospective students know that just getting a student visa does not lead to PR. It has to be a course on the critical skills list.

yes bosslady, thats true

Ok People i have now been issued my 574 grant on monday morning. Thank you guys( Futuredon, erictac203, ernestudezi...) and every one for your advice.

Erictac203 was correct. I responded to my case officer asking her the reason for asking for an OSHC that ends 28/02/2020 when my program ends 30/06/2019 and i have provided evidence that my OSHC ends 30/12/2019. She immediately replied that she wanted to grant me a visa that is 8 months from the end of my program as against 6 months from the end, but that if i wanted it to be six months from the end, i should let her know(oboy when i see this one i shook my head that this case officer must be a comedian e make me to to dey disturb the full USYD for just 2 months extension), with speed of light i just replied her that i wanted the 6 months from my end date jare. In less than an hour i got my visa grant.

Abeg Futeredon and co how i wan use book flight, Oboy i check emirates i dey see almost 600K(fear grip me o).

Hi bosslady, nnbb just to get somethg straight from masperanos visa now,he has an extra 6months visa wen hes done with school so does that mean he has to apply for his PR within that 6months? and does it also mean he can apply for d post study work visa within the 6months and while working apply for PR? kindly shed light thanks

Hello House, I have gone tru the newly proposed SSVF by the DIBP. It's far better than SVP, however, the Students and the Institution will be classified into an Immigration risk:

I will post the simple table later once I get access to my Computer, I was able to dig into the discussion paper done by Consultants and Educational Stakeholders.

So no worries grin, I almost had a high blood pressure when it was posted on the thread yesterday. Whew!!!

Beautiful news coming around. Congrats y'all, and may God favour you all like bossladymo.
Its been four weeks (from tomorrow will be fifth) I applied to four different schools in Australia. Till now, no offer, no news from my agent. I want to know from the experienced ones, do you think I can still make it for July intake, assuming offer eventually comes in this week, considering the time from when I will pay my tuition, get COE, apply for visa etc, and expect a grant? I'm asking because I want to know if its time to finally zero my mind and start working for feb intake. Thanks guys.

P.S. I used agent because most schools now make the agent thing mandatory, and also I don't have much SOA to show, am self sponsored.

if you are doing your medicals upfront before submitting the visa yes. and also if your program happens to fall under svp yes again. but also depends on when your admission finally clicks. what agent did you use?
