According to me, Johannesburg is too big for this cities, nairobi, abuja and lagos, I think it will be better if we compare this three cities(abuja, nairobi and lagos) with any SA cities except Johannesburg, Cape town and Durban, Now I choose Pretoria, See the attached pictures of Pretoria

mrrights: If you don't know what to say, why don't you just keep quiet? And for the records, there is no comparison because in the real sense, no one country can be compared to the other. I think your lack of exposure is the major problem, if not, you would have known that, while the USA maybe better than Nigeria in some ways, Nigeria is also better than USA in many other ways. Why you ask the people if you know ''nigeria is better than USA in many ways''? , For me! I thought you ask this question because you are aware there is nothing like that comparison, but you can answer that question with naija style, no problem |

mrrights: Hello people, I need your help. I have an assignment to write at least, 100 reasons why Nigeria is better than United States of America. Although, based on what I know, I have been able to come up with some, but considering the fact that I have not been to America, there are certain comparison that I can't make to determine which one is better. I am therefore compelled to seek your input. I know nairaland is full of intelligent people from all across the country and the world. Your exposure, work and access to certain information may be useful here. Kindly help state some of the ways you think Nigeria is better than US. Thanks Write this if you want to pass your assignment with 100%:"Nigeria will never be better than america, even after 1000years from now". Your teacher will see that: "You are brilliant, he/she can't fool you with the topics like this one, and the giant of africa anymore". If you are mumu's you will stress yourself with that 100 reasons. |

Politics › Re: Politicians Take Over Houses Meant For Flood Victims In Kogi by MPSA(m): 11:44pm On Aug 22, 2016 |
Gisthelm22: Kogi politicians have reportedly taken over houses allocated to flood victims by the Federal Government and corporate organisations.
The 235 housing units constructed for victims of the 2012 flood disaster in Kogi are being occupied by politicians and other unintended beneficiaries.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the houses, located at Old Polytechnic Quarters, Lokoja, comprise two-bedroom and one-bedroom flats.
The estate was built with donations received from the Federal Government, corporate organisations and other philanthropists.
NAN, however, reports the houses had been converted to other uses including nursery and primary schools and other purposes different from what they were built for.
Some of the illegal occupants were discovered to control between two and three houses at the expense of the people they were meant for.
Some of the victims of the disaster, who spoke to NAN, expressed disappointment on the manner the issue was handled by previous government in the state.
They complained that the former administration of the state had reneged on its promise to allocate the houses to them before vacating office.
Mr Yakubu Abubakar, a victim, said he had been waiting endlessly for the house and urged the state government to distribute them to the affected persons.
Another victim, Mr Ohiani Gomina, said although allocation letters had been distributed to the affected persons, they could not move in due to government’s failure to eject the illegal occupants.
Mrs Aminatu Saleh, also a victim, said it was disheartening that the state government could not fulfil its promise four years after the incident.
She urged the government and other stakeholders to come to their aid, alleging that most of the houses had been allocated to politicians and other influential persons.
When contacted, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Alhaji Abdulkarim Abdulmalik, said Gov. Alhaji Yahaya Bello, was aware of the problem.
``We are going to look into the matter to ensure justice, the houses belong to the victims of the 2012 flood disaster.
``The victims will get the houses back,’’ Abdulmalik stressed.
He said the problem was one of the numerous inherited from the immediate past administration, assuring that the issue would be investigated soon.

Lagos maintained its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index by ranking the third worst city to live in the world, according to the 2016 ranking by the Economist Intelligence Unit released Thursday.
Lagos placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus.
“Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the very bottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50 percent and most aspects of living are severely restricted,” the report stated.
“Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraint to improving stability in Lagos.”
Escalations in hostilities in Libya prompted a sharp decline in liveability in Tripoli, according to the report, while Damascus, although seeing a stabilisation in its decline remained rooted to the bottom.
The top five best countries to live in, according to the report, remain unchanged from last year and include Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada.
The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories – stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
Of the five categories, Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure. It scored lowest in stability.
Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, with Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively.
While no African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities, five were in the 10 least liveable cities. Steve Ayorinde, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, could not be reached for comments on Thursday.
Phone calls, text messages, and emails were not responded to.
The ranking of Lagos among the least liveable cities of the world come amidst a massive revenue drive and huge infrastructural investment by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The government generated N101.69 billion in the first quarter of 2016, N4.85 billion more than in the same period last year.
Lagos has consistently ranked in the 10 least liveable cities since 2011, ranking 137th out of 140 in that year. It ranked 138th in 2012, and then remained at 137th until this year.

KnowAll: Rand use to be 1 to 8. Never it was 1 to 13 now. So they too have had a bit of devaluation on their currency. You are correct, but at least the rand is heading to that position of 1:8, is promising a lot compare to previous months. Let us wait and see, but still I don't trust this story of GDP, few months ago we(SAns) were position 3, now the report said we are number 1. It's obvious before december we will be number 31 , kenya, nigeria or south sudan will take position 1 I don't trust this GDP story anymore, Number 1 or No number 1, life is still going on |

DiegoNakel: Even if you are being fooled, must you fool yourselves? -DT "SOUTH AFRICA AND NIGERIA, WHICH SHOULD BE THE LARGEST ECONOMY? As Nigerians, we know about Nigeria while we have little information about South Africa.
1. Daimler, Toyota, BMW, Ford, Arvin Exhust, Corning, Bloxwitch have production plants in South Africa.
2. South Africa manufactures Electronics, Computer Hardwares.
3. South Africa manufactures Military Hardwares and Aircrafts
4. South Africa manufactures choice wines and spirits with Nigeria as its biggest market in Africa. Next time, before you drink that Wine, look at the label. It will 60% be 'A product of South Africa'
5. South Africa boasts of world class Textile Industries.
6. South Africa manufactures, refurbishes and repairs Ships .
7. South Africa has the largest mining and solid mineral sector in Africa What do we produce or manufacture in Nigeria? The GDP was rebased and we placed ourselves as the largest Economy in Africa without growth in the real sector of the Economy. . We used administrative controls to peg the value of our Currency for years without Fundamentals to back it up. The administrative controls are removed, the wind blew and our behinds are exposed. South African Rand is growing in value because of growth in the real sector of the Economy while the value of the Naira plummets because our economic mainstay is in the wilderness and militancy is holding us at the jugular.
We export Crude Oil and import petroleum products. We export raw Cocoa and import chocolate bars and processed Cocoa for packaging by the Nestle of this world. A total drain on our Dollar earnings.
I ask again, what do we produce?
Even if you are being fooled, must you fool yourselves?" Broda, The truth isn't welcome in this forum, If you want peace between you and nairalanders; Shout this word louder "Giant of Africa", , The masses of nairalanders will love you forever, For now! The reason why Nigeria is no2, is because of ''GDP Office'' , Early this year South Africa was no 3, Egypt 2, and Nigeria 1 Few months later, The same Office came with another story, We(SA) are now no 1, Nigeria 2, and Egypt 3. I don't buy this GDP story anymore. In 2014 they said Nigeria is no 1 because of mobil phones, now they are talking about strong Rand, few months from now the are going to talk about the cabbage of Ithopia/ kenya, this GDP People are useless . I can't celebrate for 2min like NIGERIANS. Now I understand how this useless GDP works |
