Can you explain why we are not yorubas

The country Benin republic is not called anago or ewe or yoruba republic' have you found out why ?
Benin republic was name after Bini people who fought for the freedom of the people there, or think it should have been call Yoruba republic

step1:
I think this matter has been put to rest. As an said I man from Lagos island royal household I think I can state some facts from my pov.

1. The old and even present day Lagos island WAS NEVER OWNED BY BINIS.

2. The monarchy is firmed by a bini Prince and this does not make us under binu in any way

3. Bini itself came from Ile ife.

4. Before binis migrated we have the awori people and every bini linkage is now awori as I am from one of the lineage.

5. We are yorubas in every sense and we consider binis as yorubas

6. Akinolu was never meant to be oba but Tinubu forced him on us. It was the family of Adebiyi that was to be king after oyekan

7. Unlike the binis we know our history and that is why homage is paid to the oba bini till this day. Bini is meabt to be doing thr same to the ooni
binis are not yoruba, aworis are not Yoruba

the Lagos Atlantic ocean was formerly called the bright of Bini not the bright of Yoruba have u find out why

because we have formed a seperate identity. and i am a Prince from the Royal family of Benin. when we were leaving Benin, a lot of people followed us.
there is nothing like separate identity, you people have no identity if this is your claim, a Jewish American, Jewish Russian, is a Jew for the fact that they have left isreal centuries ago. even Yoruba that are in Cotonou still call themselves Yoruba despite they left long ago. so I put to you according to your claim that you don't have identity

why are you guys so desperate to force benin identity on onitsha?
Its now begging to appear funny, lols,
the children of Ezechime, an Igbo man who returned from benin where he was an immigrant are and will never be bini,
yes benin may have influced them a little bit,
that chinedu lived in ibadan for many years and then returned back to owerri does not make him a yoruba man,
chinedu's descendants remain Igbo.
enjoy this thread and stop derailing it,

Illiteracy.

Look up what anachronism means.

I do not see what is more anachronistic than lifting the use/context of Lagos of pre-1970s for present day discourse.

Outside being able to write English averagely, you are not so educated.

And I’m from Ile-Ife and very proud of my backgrounds. It is the duty of every Yoruba son and daughter to protect every inch of Yoruba soil, hence I can talk about Lagos which is mostly Awori & Ijebu lands, both groups are very Yoruba cool
you want to fight abattle you already lost. for your information Yoruba is not a tribe, it was a nickname use in tying people together. aworis are not Yoruba, even ijebu King claim they are not yoruba. inclusion u don't know your land

No. you are wrong. Oduduwa was a King in ile-ife. the Ogiso dynasty that ruled Benin first has nothing to do with Oramiyan Dynasty. they are different people. All the Obas of Benin were buried in ile-ife after their death. always state true Facts of History please.
if history have it that oramiyan can run from Benin for his life that means there is a lot you don't know about the kingdom

Before people start frothing in the eyes going back and forth over Yoruba-Lagos-Benin matter.

Please keep in mind that the Lagos that had anything to do with Benin is not the entirety of Lagos state.

shocked

This is an affront to Bini tradition.

A few of us still join Oba Akenzua and Oba Ewuare the Great to weep over the mistake of an Oba we have now.

Now the heir apparent has shown that it is genetic.
What is royalty doing with a man accused of complicity to murder?

Why is he with Davido?
If the prince had some sense of self-worth, he will be indoors understudying what being a great Oba entails.
He needs to be taught that being the Edaiken of Uselu is not the same as life on Corso Venezia or Piazza del Duomo, Milan.

If he isn't chastised now...
He might condescend so low to go on a drinking binge at Precious Palm Hotels.

Back in days, murderers people with ill-luck like Davido don't get past Aduwawa...but tradition has been watered down.

Such a shame.
take ur frustration some where.

I am from Edo land the cradle of black civilization and origin

any woman who is married to an oba live in a secure place in the palace without trespass

any queen in our Oba's palace do not live a cinematographic life , eg I often see in the Western Nigeria a queen in alafin palace, ooni palace taking selfy inside the king palace ,
y wouldn't they misbehave.

how can queen pack out of the palace? I have never heard of it, which gate did she pass thru.

in all no matter how they try to fight the truth
Oba of Benin remain the only king the rest are chiefs
Culture › The Gods Are Not To Blame: Between The Ooni Of Ife And His Olori by mr1759(op): 8:47am On Oct 20, 2017
Since news of the estrangement of the Ooni of
Ife, Oba AdeyeyeOgunwusi, and his doe-eyed,
beautiful wife, OloriWuraola, filtered out,
blogosphere has been abuzz and awash with
salacious conjectures and permutations on what
could have led to the reported crisis in a union
contracted in March 2016. In a statement
signed by the Ooni’s media aide, Comrade
Moses Olafara, the traditional ruler said, “There
is no truth to the news; it is unimaginable. The
palace is not interested in this rumour as there
are lots of positive activities happening every
minute so we don’t have time to respond to
such noise being created by nonentities.”
The Olori also caused a statement to be issued
Tuesday by her Press Secretary, Abraham
Adedeji, wherein she debunked the reports. “We
are deeply disturbed by these rumours and
there is absolutely no truth to these absurd
claims of infidelity and we vehemently deny
them.
Due to the nature of the allegations and the
attempt to defame the character of the Queen
and embarrass well respected friends of our
palace, we have immediately employed legal
counsel to investigate their origin to take
necessary action against the perpetrators.” For
more discerning observers, it is not the reported
separation that rankles; it is that for an-all
powerful monarch who understands the place
and potency of tradition and who had reportedly
been foretold not to dabble into the union, why
did the Ooni go ahead? Other reports posit that
even former President OlusegunObasanjo
warned the Ooni not to settle for OloriWuraola
whose original name is Sonia and hails from
Edo State. Quite popular on the social scene
before meeting the Ooni, OloriWuraola was
reportedly married to a Lebanese-French
businessman, ElieKhouri, but quickly dumped
him when the Ooni came with his marriage
proposition.
They barely courted. About 17months after the
elaborate solemnization of the union, with no
kid yet or sign of pregnancy, the braggadocio of
love has withered, reality has now dawned on
both parties. As news of their alleged separation
made the rounds, a couple of prominent
Nigerians were mentioned as having bucked and
clawed with the Olori even while married to the
monarch. Unthinkable sacrilege, you’d say.
OloriWuraola has denied the allegations. No
wonder, two prominent billionaire businessmen,
TundeAyeni, former chairman of Skye Bank, and
DapoAbiodun, Heyden Petroleum boss, who was
erroneously thought to be the DapoAbiodun
mentioned in the reports, have come out to
vehemently deny any assignation with the Olori.
Being Yoruba men, with deep affinity to their
roots, it is unimaginable that they would ever
have intruded into the Ooni’s exclusive sanctum
of elixir. While the Olori had allegedly vacated
the palace and had not been sighted in public
with her beau, the Ooni, it is being speculated,
might have settled for a new bride. But as
traditional ruler, his forefathers had many wives.
So this may only be a storm in a teacup.
