I just thought it's unfortunate that she was so quick to throw it to my face that she wasn't Igbo. Methinks Igbo is a consciousness which a non-Igbo can never comprehend. Igbo can never deny being Igbo. The issue is rather sad. |

Culture › Are The Ikwerre People Igbo Or Not? by MrAnalyst(op): 6:00pm On Dec 08, 2015 |
I had to ask. Prior to this time,I haven't bothered about this till now. Recently a cousin was to marry Okechukwu from Rivers. At the traditional wedding(in Anambra) a relative of the man came and asked that I direct her to the restroom. It seemed funny she asked in English being that I had heard her conversing in an Igbo dialect with her people so I proudly proceeded to direct her in Igbo only for her to cut in rather rudely that she's not Igbo. I was confused. I went to clarify from my cousin and she said they're 'Ikwerre people'. I think it's rather rare for an Igbo to deny being Igbo, for the most part they're proud of it. So are Ikwerre Igbo or Not? Why or why not? |

Bigprozzie: Tonyebarcanista
God bless you for this write-up
It is clear that IPOB members are bu.tt hurt that the SS are not supporting their useless Biafra
Yesterday Wike of Rivers gave IPOB a Black eye by decorating Gowon- the slayer of Biafra, he thanked him for creating Rivers State, another way of saying thank you for separating us from Biafrans
In Senegal, IPOB members were arrested, disgraced and were thrown out of a football match because as usual, they were constituting themselves as nuisances
They have been shouting but everyone is ignoring them and avoiding them like plagues
They wrote letters to Nnamdi Kanu's MP in England and he just dismissed them like ants that dont matter
IPOB is DESPERATE for the SS to join them. WHY?? Because of OYEL . Because they are resource poor and very lazy and fraudulent people.
IPOB is now a terrorist organisation after they destroyed a mosque in Anambra and killed 9 people including Nigerian policemen
Watch how IPOB will be added to the terrorist watch-list by Interpol, FBI and the DSS in the coming weeks Igbos are lazy and fradulent. iPOB killed nine people? Oh my God,I can't belief my eyes. Somebody actually posted this! |

Truckpusher: What would you have us do ? Pick up arms against the govt. for some folks to use it and enrich themselves like Asari and co ? Thereby bringing criminality into our doorstep - The kidnapping that has engulfed this nation today was as a result of the same struggle that have been hijacked by criminal elements and till this very moment someone is being kidnapped, raped and murdered all thanks to the so called Niger Delta militants which I prefer to call criminal enterprises that enriched their pockets using the Niger Delta as an umbrella to perpetrate all manners of evil.
We won't destroy whatever progress we've made so far all in the name of wanting more. Wisdom demands that you ask for more with more compelling evidence while holding unto whatever we've achieved , it will surely take time but this is the only way as any other way would be counterproductive and that isn't to say we are happy but creating an atmosphere of chaos won't pay us any good. Do you know how many companies that left the Niger Delta since 2005 and haven't even come back, do you know how expatriates that left this land because of the mayhem caused by armed struggle ? Do you know how many people that have been made jobless today as a result of the criminality that followed the Niger Delta struggle ? Do you know how many young men and women that died as a result of avoidable chaos and mayhem ? Don't worry , start the madness in your land and you'll understand that armed conflict is a lose-lose situation for everyone even when you're fighting for your right.
Stupidity is when you start a senseless chaos in your own house destroying your house all in the name of wanting to build another one. This method might take time but it's the best way out. if you put it in that light,it's quite understandable but for some ss people to be 'proud' of it. That's self-condescending. |

ichukwu48: You are so dumb it's ridiculous. the 13% would remain FOREVER. Every effort to increase it have been either thrown away by the north or ignored. While I'm at it, incase you are not aware or never read any history book EVER, in 1958, the oil derivation for every oil producing community was 50% which took a dramatic decline to 10% to 1968. It is currently moved to the 13% which does not seem to be changed and will never be changed judging from every factors we see today.
While I'm at it, peter odili must be chinese to you since you've been asking the stupidiest question repeatedly. It's baffling really. You take 13% oil revenue with constant destruction to the environment that hampers even FISHING! And still they jubilate and are quite happy. That's so ridiculous it's almost annoying. |

ketchupBoy: why don't you try and read with comprehension..
what the Ss are saying is that, they got 13% derivation and they later agitated for a Commission and a Ministry which was granted to them.
now add the budget from derivation and NDDC is it not more than 13%..?? If a ss person after looking at the environmental degradation of their communities and abject poverty stearing them in the face can still come and say their okay with 13% derivation then I'll say something is terribly wrong somewhere. But then I can't and won't bother myself with that issue. Have it your way |

we cbattled for resource control, they refused to give us anything before, but now we have NDDC and Derivation which we expect to rise in the coming future..
or what else is resource control to you? Let me ask you a question mr. Do you honestly think derivation,NDDC is same as resource control? please answer honestly |

TonyeBarcanista: I still don't understand what your problem is. You talked about Odi but you forgot what pre-empt FG action(perhaps you don't know). Though I Condemn the action of both the criminals in Odi and the FG in strong terms.
What is your business and problem with who owns oil licence? Oil licence is simply a meal ticket for government allies and their corrupt friends. Our Demand is RESOURCE CONTROL not a common OML.
Whoever call Jonathan drunk fisherman is referring to Jonathan. The election is OVER and we have moved on to the next phase.
I don't know how the above makes one helpless. If you are 'helpful' why not stage a showdown with FG? You say you're after resource control-I support! but surprisingly some ss here are happy saying 'we get 13% derivation'. There are reasons people point to you lots as confused. It's okay though. |

vladimiros: 80% of the Oil well are owned by Northerners, but we get the 13% derivation...
the Northerners who own the oil well pay tax to government who pay us tax in derivation..
secondly, IF THE OIL WAS IN YORUBA LAND, 80% OF THE OIL WELL WOULD BE OWNED BY FULANIS..
i am done with you... I can't believe you actually posted this. I'm even ashamed reading this comment-'but we get 13% derivation...' You don't know how atrocious the system is that's why you can say 'but we get 13% derivation'. *smh* |

mikolo80: again, your words not mine The worst kind of arguments I hate is one where the other person is deliberately being stupid just to annoy me. Let me tutor you,for starters,if 99.9% of Igbos keep saying they're being marginalized. Trust me there's an iota of truth to it-it's simple logic, that number of people can't be wrong. Now coming to you personally,I said Igbos dont fight themselves but you replied Yorubas dont fight Igbos, that's a misquote-this was your first point of stupidity. Again,I spoke of enugu and abia(both within the east) but you're replying me with niger(which is in the north)-again this was another point you showed shallow reasoning. Thirdly, you had to change my post into something I hadn't written,mr(or miss) that's a record depth of childishness. Fourthly, for you to bring Yoruba into my 'eastern' post means you're quite a tribalist, please I am not one and I dislike tribalists. please keep to yourself if you don't intend making sense. Thank you |
