CrimeRe: How Army ‘Killed’ Kidnapped Pastor & Labelled Him Militant - Premium Times by MrAnalyst: 2:01pm On Nov 19, 2016
It's simple. The army surprised the militants, killed a few but some escaped. The numbers they killed wasn't enough to seem "impressive" so they killed the man and dressed him up as a militant to add to the numbers. Incredible!

PoliticsRe: Anxiety In Anambra Govt. House Over Incessant Appearance Of Old Strange Woman by MrAnalyst: 11:55pm On Nov 17, 2016
jpmorganxx:
Palpable fear has gripped Anambra State government house EXCO members as well as Governor Willie Obiano's aides over the recent frequent appearance and disappearance of an old woman of about 150 years and above in Anambra State government house, which according to inside sources is presently their nightmare.

Though, Governor Obiano who is the chief security officer of the state, has not issued any official statement to cover the allegation, it was reliably gathered that the Governor, Willie Obiano knows the source of the strange old woman.

As it were,One of his Special Assistants(SAs ) who pleaded anonymity because he is not permitted to speak, alleged that the old strange woman, started appearing few days after Governor Obiano had threatened to eliminate any of his aides caught divulging secret information about his administration ,adding that he(Gov.Obiano), was very angry that some of his aides who were privy to his wife's health status, divulged the information to some elder statement that his wife is presently suffering from a strange ailment ,that could not be treated abroad.

Another alleged that Governor Obiano,is not very comfortable with Peter Obi's recent revelation on how much he left in Anambra state accounts, knowing that some of his aides are still loyal to the former governor, hence could disclose useful information capable of exposing certain misappropriation of funds in his administration, hence resorted to deity to checkmate them.

According to him, "the most scaring of the story is that those that have seen the strange old woman are afraid of discussing it, because they were told to keep it to their hearts or become insane. One of us is currently having "mental problem" and it's yet to be made public".

He said one of Governor Obiano's aides who is suspected to know the source of the strange old woman and even informed his colleagues that he (Obiano), has perfected plans to be paying them their salaries under oath from 2017,is presently having mental problem and that they are still hiding it.

"Too many strange things are happening here, but who will expose it", asked Obiano's aide.
Absolute Thrash.

PoliticsRe: Anioma State: A Priority Long Overdue. by MrAnalyst: 10:06am On Jun 21, 2016
Creating Anioma state will be a dream come true for the Igbos. Especially if merged to the SE. If the Igbos can really push for it,we may just get it. I don't think the wicked government will kick too much against it cause most of their oil exploration is in non-Igbo areas in Delta state (Oil is the only interest of the government anyway) though the wicked government will want to keep Igbos splintered. Give SE Anioma state and watch Igbo-denial drop drastically while development soars in Anioma. Igbo Amaka!

Very very sad. Militants killing innocent people? Very sad. But are they Ijaw militants? There was news earlier this year that militants are now present in Ikorodu(Lagos) and Ogun. Looks like it was true afterall.

PabloAfricanus:
Cmon dude, dont be clever by half grin
You like so many before appear to be fixated on conveniently forgetting facts put before you huh
Lemme help you out there:
1. The first "Igbo" people whom the Europeans met were at Aboh and were identified by the Obi as living
on both sides of the Niger, with the Obi claiming suzerainity over "55 miles along both sides of the river".

2."Igbo" as a appelation for identifying people speaking "Igbo" dialects did not come into being with the Europeans,
rather people were bearing names like Igboanugo, Igbokwe, Igbo, Obigbo,Igboamaeze etc. then and now

3.All the Igbo speaking peoples knew what the appelation "Igbo" meant and understood it to be the "name of the people"
or the "name of the language" by which the "Igbo" people called themselves. It was corrupted to "Ibo" apparently cos the
whites could not vocalize the "gb" sound.

4.The first "Igbo" bible was written in Opobo dialect and was not called "Opobo" or "Bonny" bible, rather "Igbo" bible.
The Igbo appellation was neither invented nor was it strange sounding to the hinterlands when they heard it.

5. The first native Christian missionaries to the Igbo hinterlands came from Opobo, Aboh, Onitsha, Ndi Olu areas and did not find
it that difficult communicating in "Igbo" language to the more unexposed hinterland dwellers they preached to. All it took was acclimatization
to the dialectical differences.

6. To the best of my knowledge, no one needs you to be Igbo or accept the Igbo nomenclature.
It is the crass rejection/denial that makes the "other" Igbos either look funny, bad or foolish, given that this is coming from
a people who were the subjects of the first "Igbo" historical writings by the Europeans.
Moreso, when "geneologies" and "ancestral ties" are invented all in a bid to perpetuate a self inflicted identity crisis,
it only leads to tauntings, mockeries and yes a little disbelief at the foolishness of it all.

My 2 cents.
Strong points there.
CultureRe: Delta Igbos by MrAnalyst: 11:41am On Jun 19, 2016
oweniwe:
1. Based on point one, since there was nothing like igbo back then, do you think ukwuani, ikwerre, ika etc folks are right to reject being called "igbo "?

E.g.... "I am Ukwuani... I am not igbo because there was nothing like "igbo " before the white man came "...

Ngwa man is simply Ngwa... Osha man is simply Osha... Ndienigu are simply Ndienugu... Ukwuani is simply Ukwuani... Ikwerre is simply ikwerre.... There's nothing like "Igbo "

Do you see ' reason ' in the above statement?
In the current Nigerian make-up,the statement does not make sense. No offence. Maybe in precolonial Nigeria or immediately after independence such may have being attempted but not anymore. In a time when Igbos are currently trying to save their skins, balkanizing ourselves will be foolhardy.

Don't fall for his trap.

The game plan of the Yoruboids and their Edo partners are:

1, Impersonate Ikwerres, Ikas, Etches, Oshimili, Ukwuani etc,

2, Start making anti Igbo / Igbophobic comments. Provoke the SE Igbos to make harsh comments towards Ika, Ikwerre, etc

3. When the SE falls into the above trap by making harsh statements against those Igboid groups in anger, they ( Yoruboids) withdraw back and use our words against these Igboid groups against us, by presenting it to the Igboids as a the proof that the SE has no genuine love for them but are rather attached to their oil wealth and ld space.
My brother I know of the rubbish obtainable here on nairaland especially politics section and I don't fall for it. But I've Ikwerre inlaws and trust me most are not worth the effort. All in all,it is well.

Marcelini:
It's possible that Ogbunuabali was fabricated. But that does not change the fact that it literary translates to "He that kills in the night".

For example, we know that Anioma was fabricated by Osadebey using A= Aniocha, N= Ndokwa, I= Ika, O= Oshimili, then adding adding MA as a common denominator to create ANIOMA.
But that does not change the fact that in all Igbo speaking territories, ANIOMA literary translates as "Good land".

By the way, Hopeathand is not an Ikwerre person, stop wasting your time on him.
I understand fully what you mean but Ogbunabali has a meaning of it's own which the impostor cannot decipher. Anyway who cares about Ikwerre or Hopeathand. Bigger things are on deck.
PoliticsRe: hh by MrAnalyst: 12:13pm On Jun 05, 2016
Marcelini:
Ogbunuabali literally translates to " He that kills in the night". It means the same in Ikwerre and all Igbo dialects.

An Ikwerre man from Ikwerre LGA that hadn't been to PH before will translate it as that too.

And anybody who has interest can always investigate how the name came about, he mustnt be an Ikwerre person to do so.
So you telling the history of how Ogbunuabali was coined does not make you an Ikwerre any more than me knowing that Ilorin was coined from "Ile erin" make me a YORUBA person.
Personally I think its the depth of callousness for an outsider to hide and claim Ikwerre just to cause disunity. Ikwerre can be whatever they choose but some tribes are really really cursed!!!

Ogbunabali is a town which was founded on a land belongigng to Orogbum and Oroabali communities.. The full spelling of the name is Ogbum-nu-abali.

Another example is Okoro-nu-odo. That is the area where that big Anglican church at Rumuokoro roundabout is situated. The name is a combination of Rumuokoro and Rumuodomaya.

Thank me later.
I'll slap you! Are you a little kid? Tell me the meaning of Ogbunabali, you're telling me it's was almagated fabricated. As an Ikwerre tell me the interpretation of "Ogbunabali"

The Delta state government has said Agbor and Asaba are Igbo cities. Agbor disputably. Asaba being an Igbo enclave is already a conclusion. Port Harcourt can be classed an Igbo city but argue all you want. The way some particular people are pouring their frustrations here is alarming.
