I dunno about your former Uni, but in my former Uni, the units attached to a course determines the lecture hours per week. So a 4 Unit course, is 4 lecture hours per week (either 1 hour for 4 days, 2 hours for 2 days or 2 hours and 2 1-hours for 3 days). If you know the requisite courses they are asking for, you can check your potential school's undergrad website for those courses and their units and use that to compare to your former uni.

The number of hours per week to be multiplied by 13 or 15 for weeks per semester depending on the number of weeks run in your school per sem

Personally, I feel a loan can work but a loan of 300k from your mom is kinda low. If you ur dad can get a loan of 1M and above from his bank, Reference letter from bank stating his ability to repay the loan, with assets included, his employment details and ur mom's source of income included. With your 500k and proof of source plus the Scholarship offer, I feel you stand a chance.

To put it more in context, during my search for admission I met a Nigerian Professor that teaches in a North American school. I told him I graduated with a 3.56/5.00 and I think my chances are slim. He said I shouldn't worry, that it is still a second class upper and a second class upper is equivalent to a 3.10 - 3.40 on their own scale.
My the main intention of my earlier post was just to say that grade conversion is not simple arithmetic. Infact there is no global formula for grade conversions. Having said that, I wouldn't advice someone with a 3rd class to apply for MSc straight.

However the letter came with another letter for the embassy stating that they should give me visa quickly to be able to attend class by january. Is this letter a regular letter that comes with all LoAs or do you think it will make my visa application to be treated as a special case. I am asking because I am planing to defer the admission to Fall 2015 because of the time it takes to apply for and get the visa. But if the letter will make my application to be treated as a special case I can apply before the end of this month. Pls what do u think.

Ma'am I will advice you apply for winter, let the embassy be the one to say that its too late or not. You never know what may happen, gather your docs quickly and go the online route, attach same letter from your school, inform the school after you apply, take a deep breath and relax. Although there is every possibility you will miss few weeks of class.

bro, you spoke my mind. Hardly will you see a Nigerian earning 200k per month and having #10m with dependents on the side. These V.O guys are psychologist and they understand the Nigerian system so well (well some are Nigerians). Luckily will one play a quick one on them.

Sorry to say, if truly the boutique is the other source of funds, based on the experience of your first denial you would have added the evidence of the existence of the boutique and also included landed properties. My advice: Come out straight on your sponsors, their source of funds, relationship to you , commitments to sponsor etc.

Didn't see the reason for your denial before I had doubts about the authenticity of your sponsor.
