These things shouldn't be binary. Childbirth isn't easy and a lot of women after going through one dont want or are scared to have another and they should not be blackmailed into it. But women should also not blackmail men into staying in a marriage where she has refused to have more and he refused.

A better solution is surrogacy. Her eggs, his sperm and someone else (paid or whatever the arrangement is) carries the baby to term. Everyone is happy.

Childbirth does a lot of things to women, a lot of women have to stop their careers, have to give up dreams, have to watch their body go through (sometimes irreversible) change so please do not blame them for not wanting it.

But is it selfish? Of course it is. But is it wrong? No.

All I can see is that you feel threatened by the new crop of degrees and professional independence springing up here and there. Better brace up cos more is coming.

Stop buying the lies ur elders tell u pls. It is mere greed and bias to call for scrapping of diploma in nursing. These nurses write the same council exams with u BSC nurses, and many times pass a 100%, while the so called BSC nurses mess up.

The first set of graduated Doctors in Nigeria were accredited by the British, as there was no MDCN then. They couldn't go past 1st MBBS, and had to be flown abroad to complete their studies. So plss always give verified information. U could as well check up the first set of medical Doctors in Nigeria urself, before passing these unverified information.

Also check up if lower degrees in Nursing has been scrapped in Ghana, South Africa, UK or America, before clamouring for a scrap in Nigeria. The information age bring all these details to those who seek for them.

Afterthought: The first set of accredited and Licensed Doctors in Nigeria were awarded MBBS. Today, Doctors are not clamouring for a change of nomenclature. Rather it is courses allied to Medicine that are constantly crying for name change, very recently Bachelor of nursing,Bachelor of Midwifery (NBBM) by graduate nurses. But how pathetic.

Being a medical doctor requires a bachelor and there's a reason for that. That same reason is why a BNSc graduate is a better nurse than a diploma in nursing holder. The two should never be on the same level.

Being a Medical Doctor anywhere in the world requires minimum of a bachelor. Being a nurse anywhere in the world doesn't require the same. It's world standard and not sentiments.
