Oh, I never knew they had diploma nurse abroad, but since there in no difference in job description, may be BSC is not really necessary then.

It is important that every profession have a progression to their zenith though. The theoretical details for BSC nurses is definitely tougher, and takes nursing from a bedside job to a research based course, where new innovation and protocols can be instituted empirically. That's the reason for the BSC.

However, it would be wrong for a Medical officer with a PHD in anatomy to be seeking for more pay in the hospital, because it doesn't add anything to patient care. He can also decide to lecture anatomy part-time or go into Anatomic based research. Also, a BSC nurse who went further to have a PHD in Nursing Education has not business asking for more pay or role in the hospital, it doesn't add anything to patient care, though she can go into research and propound theories. Now dragging for equal pay with a physician, with a non clinically inclined masters or phd is the ridiculous aspect. That's what is happening in Nigeria, and that's what I am against.

Let's be honest with ourselves. The lady is doing well for herself. Better than a lot of people imagined. She will get more.

She has no achievement. That show is not even a category B show. She can't get more than 50k for that show, yet her make up, eye lashes, gown and shoe cost more than the 50k. CeeC needs to go for classes in life management, anger management, personality training and interpersonal relationship, before she can kick off her career. If she doesn't , all these rubbish she is doing will amount to painting a surface.

Doctors had continued to find every means to subjugate nurses and nursing in Nigeria by training quacks, firing the unhealthy dichotomy among different cadres of nursing in a bid to unleash an onslaught that will cause the ongoing educational empowerments in nursing to be an exercise in futility.
Their gain in all this remains a mystery. Cos, while other countries are pushing for more education and wider scope of practice, Nigerian doctors prefers to work with illiterate and primary school dropouts

As much as u have every right to air an opinion, u must not make a comment on everything that passes. My comment is verifiable. Does a BSC nurse pass NCLEx or UK CBT and earn more than a school of nursing graduate?, are school of nursing graduates not more practically sound than BSC graduates on the majority? Nigeria is a shit hole country, that why old nurses who run to do masters in health education trouble CMDs to place them at a higher level, as if the ugly masters will in any way improve health care delivery. I maintain that in practice, BSC nursing and diploma nurses are almost equal, with diploma nurses having an edge practical wise.

A doctor or a nurse assaulting someone is a crime and should be dealt with as a personal problem and not a professional tug of war. Doctors remain the most peace loving people in the hospitals and an outliers should give u opportunity to brag about a bachelor's degree that doesn't carry too much weight on the streets.

I congrats. I didn't make first class so I don't take it lightly when I see others who did.

It was a knock out for Johesu in their ill willed fight yesterday, as the NIC struck out the suite by radiographers to function under a separate department from radiologist, who remain traditionally their head. Their demand was to cause choas, but their I'll timed request backfired.

Also, the President of Nigeria, Gen. Buhari has dismissed the radiographers bill, stating that it will deepen disharmony in the health sector.

This is one blow too many. Hopefully the NIC will also upturn requests by optometrists, and clinical psychologists for a separate department.

Hospitals belong traditionally to Doctors and their patients, and every none doctor works to aid the Doctors care for his patients.

The blow is much and will continue until sanity return to our health sector.

Long live Nigeria.
