XperiaZ6: Geographically, Nigeria is in the North of the African continent. In reality this is the non political map of North africa **** Use this compass to point out the North, South, East and West in that map of Africa you placed up there and then tell me if you still think Nigeria is in North Africa. The most we could say is Nigeria is located in Central Africa and even then you would be wrong to some extent but saying Nigeria is in North Africa, is this another one of your Usman Danfodio agenda? Crime › Oluwadamilare Baiyewu, Nigerian Rapist Jailed For 24 Years In The UK by Mrchippychappy(op): 5:55pm On Jan 21, 2016 |
Grinning rapist who posed a church volunteer 'to mask his true nature as a sexual predator' is jailed for 24 years for knifepoint attacks
This is the smirking sex offender who raped one 17-year-old woman and tried to attack another at knife point. Oluwadamilare Baiyewu, 22, who posed as a church volunteer to mask his sexual depravity, was today jailed for 24 years for the horrific assaults. He was described as a 'dangerous, calculating and predatory rapist' who created the image he was the 'pillar of the community' by helping out at the church. The court heard how Baiyewu, from Fairlawn in Greenwich, first grabbed a 17-year-old at knife point on December 2, but she managed to break free and escape. A week later, in the same area of Binsey Walk, Thamesmead, he grabbed a victim, also 17, as she got off the bus at 7pm. He put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her before marching her into a bin storage area under a walkway. He then raped her in a secluded area. Baiyewu was tracked down after DNA linking him to the attacks was recovered. He was arrested on December 16, and was placed on an identity parade where he was picked out by the victim whom he had attempted to rape. He was today sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to 24 years in prison. He will serve a minimum of 16 years in prison and will then be on license for eight years.
Detective Constable Chris Hammond of the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: 'Oluwadamilare Baiyewu is a dangerous, calculating, predatory rapist. 'He volunteered at a local church, creating the image that he was a pillar of the community, which I believe was an attempt to mask his true nature as a sexual predator. 'I would like to praise his victims for having the strength to come forward to police and give their evidence in court. 'The streets of Thamesmead are now a safer place without the presence of Baiyewu.'

The Nigerian military should approach this situation with caution, the other day they killed an innocent girl today the killed a young man. The question now is this: is there any proof that this young man was a member of the whole pro-biafra movement? or are we just going to kill ANY man just because he is from the igbo ethnic group? A larger percentage of Igbo's are not in support of IPOB and the rest of them BUT if you keep on killing their children and loved ones with reckless abandon all because of the actions of a few then on the long run the many would have no choice but to join the cause of the few. Nigerian Military should thread with caution on this one. No Nation can survive 2 civil wars, it is coming to the point when the average Igbo man would have nothing to live for and common sense makes us know that a man with nothing to live for is an irrational man that can do every and any thing. |

ABEOKUTA—The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Ogun State has broken its silence over the controversial N100 million allegedly collected by its National Chairman, Chief Olu Falae from the former Chairman Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,, Chief Tony Anenih, saying, contrary to Falae’s claims of distributing the money to state chapters of the party, it did not get any money from him.
The money was allegedly linked with the $2.1 billion arms fund believed to have been mismanaged by former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Falae had admitted receiving N100 million from Anenih.
The party, which was under the control of former governor of the state, Chief Segun Osoba in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Olu Agemo and the Secretary, Clement Adeniyi yesterday in Abeokuta, declared that it was never notified of or involved in any negotiation to partner with the PDP or any other party for the purpose of winning the election or maintaining peace during the period as claimed by Falae.
According to the party, ”We were never informed by the National Secretariat of our party of the decision to adopt former President Goodluck Jonathan or any other candidate as the party’s presidential candidate.
“That, we were never informed of any donation of funds to the party by the PDP or any other party.
“That the SDP in Ogun State did not receive any financial or campaign logistics assistance from the national secretariat of our party or any of its principal officers.
“That in April 2015 we made our position clear on the sources of our campaign funding through advertisement in the Guardian, Vanguard, Punch and Tribune newspapers of Monday April 20, before the current revelation.
“We plead with our members and supporters who have received this untoward revelation with great shock to remain calm and await the convocation of a general meeting where these issues shall be thoroughly discussed and appropriate decisions taken,” the statement read.
.“We assure you that the SDP in Ogun will continue to operate within ethical and moral norms as laid out in the principles of Progressive Welfarism established by our progenitor, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the struggle to establish an egalitarian, peaceful and equitable nation”, the statement read.

I am all for Biafra but first things first- how do we get rid of the elite that has been syphoning the funds and resources meant for the people? Politics › Re: 20 Feared Killed As Nigerian Troops Arrest Shi’te Leader, Elzakzaky by Mrchippychappy(m): 3:37pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, a group propagating the spread of Shi’te Islam in Nigeria, Ibrahim Elzakzaky, has been arrested by Nigerian troops, following a siege on his Zaria residence, PREMIUM TIMES can reveal.
A credible source in the sect’s hierarchy also told PREMIUM TIMES that a top leader of the movement, Muhammadu turi, and the head of the medical team of the sect, Mustapha saidu, and several others were killed during the siege.
The Nigerian Army and members of the sect have accused each other of instigating attacks that led to the death of members of the movement on Saturday.
While the Army accused the Shiite followers of attempting to assassinate Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, the Islamic movement said soldiers simply decided to attack “defenseless people”.
It was gathered that the Nigerian troops sustained a crackdown on the members of the sect throughout the night as heavy shootings and sounds of explosions were heard in Gellesu and Sokoto Road, where Hussainiyya – the spiritual centre of the sect – is located.
Residents of the area told our reporter that they saw armoured tanks demolishing the Hussainiyya shrine and the residence of the leader of the sect.
A source at the military hospital in Chindit Barracks Depot of the Nigerian Army, Zaria, told PREMIUM TIMES that they received 19 bodies of people killed in the encounter.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, could not be reached for comment and is yet to release a statement on the arrest. SHRINE ? https://i.imgur.com/3ErBIe4.gif |

Foreign Affairs › Gambia President Declares Country An 'islamic State' by Mrchippychappy(op): 7:15am On Dec 13, 2015 |
President Yahya Jammeh has declared the Gambia "an Islamic state", but stressed that the rights of the Christian minority in the small west African country would be respected and that women would not be held to a dress code. The announcement came as the president addressed supporters in the coastal town of Brufut on Thursday, and the comments were later broadcast on state television and repeated on his website. "Gambia's destiny is in the hands of the Almighty Allah. As from today, Gambia is an Islamic state. We will be an Islamic state that will respect the rights of the citizens," he was quoted as saying on the presidential website. In television footage of the address on GRTV, seen by AFP on Saturday, the president did not go into detail about what the change would mean for the country, but he reassured Christians and followers of other faiths they would be able to worship freely. "Christians will be given their due respect. The way of celebrating Christmas will continue," he said, adding that no one had the right to interfere with others' "way of life". He also warned against trying to impose a dress code on women. "I have not appointed anyone as an Islamic policeman. The way women dress is not your business," he said. An impoverished former British colony nestled within Senegal, and famed for its white-sand beaches, the Gambia has a population of nearly two million, 90 percent of whom are Muslim. Of the remainder, eight percent are Christian and two percent are defined as having indigenous beliefs. - Colonial past - Jammeh, 50, a military officer and former wrestler from a rural background, has ruled the country with an iron fist since he seized power in a coup in 1994. Opponents say he has become increasingly paranoid, regularly reshuffling his ministers and keeping only a tiny circle of trusted allies close to him. He cultivates the image of a practising Muslim, and is often seen holding a Koran or prayer beads, and of promoting an aura of mysticism. He also regularly rails against the Gambia's colonial past, blaming it for many of the country's woes. In March 2014, Jammeh said Gambia will drop English as its official language, without specifying which of the country's indigenous tongues would replace it. The main opposition party on Saturday poured scorn on the president's unexpected proclamation of an Islamic republic, saying it had no legal basis. "President Yahya Jammeh's pronouncement or declaration is unconstitutional, it has no constitutional basis and... it is an unlawful declaration," Ousainou Darboe, the secretary general of the main opposition United Democratic Party, told AFP. "It is becoming ridiculous that whenever he wants to divert pubic attention from what is happening in the country, he attacks colonialism," Darboe said. Human Rights Watch this year branded Jammeh's regime one of the most repressive in the world, blaming paramilitaries and secret police for torture, disappearances and extrajudicial killings. In 2013, Jammeh withdrew his country from the Commonwealth, saying it represented "an extension of colonialism". https://uk.news.yahoo.com/gambia-president-declares-country-islamic-state-032508967.html#bVhJgB3Looks like Nigeria would be next. |
