Nothing much this week . . . .
On the plate for me as a rookie in the office this week gone, was work shadowing senior management staff. . .
Went out to various sites with the divisional director. . . .Again, just to keep pleasing and currying favour from our major client
Spent some time in senior management meeting. . .felt good getting introduced as the young engineering consultant on a grooming mission cheesy
One more date with the regional director next week, need to see what that dude's day is like and see if it justifies his fat salary!
A few days out SM work shadow thing in the pipeline across a few of the Mouchel offices around, should be fun!
Working hard on my chartership status as well as notching up some formal PM qualification. . . This boy is hungry
Moving mountains with the boys on our personal energy biz in Naija. . . .One or two partnership things getting signed up this week. . .On up on that

On the other job, results hasnt been good in the last few weeks, we have been poor and in some other games been unlucky. . .
Notched a goal last week, hopefully that will kickstart a flurry as the team needs it. . .
Away game today, a must win. . . Midweek game next week, must win - Overall performances must improve and the coaching staff need to get it right

How is everyone, truth be told it has been quiet around here. . .Crizzle, and co, keep it banging!
CareerRe: Welcome To My Office by MrCrackles(m): 12:04pm On Nov 28, 2009
AjanleKoko:
Hey all,
Na wa for this thread, and the entire career section in general. Really gone to the dogs, I'd say. Everybody seems to be more into politics.

Anyway, work for me has been humdrum of late. Changed office location a couple of weeks ago, and am settling down in the new place gradually.
Gradually focusing more on supervisory duties, as well as sidestepping the normal office politics, which in my establishment I consider to be a waste of time, as there is precious little for the taking. These days I tend to pick and choose projects, and pass the less fun/glamour stuff to my subords. After all, I got enough of that in my pre-management days. So I am focusing on scoping future stuff, like IMS and mobile office apps, such as hosted UC.

A business trip to the far east originally scheduled for today has been cancelled, as management politics regarding who will and won't go kicked in at the last minute. You guessed it, it's an all expense-paid trip, and the company only has to pay per diem. Now some new actors have shown interest, and pulled their weight to get our CEO to postpone the trip till early next year. Pity because the per diem would have gone a long way to make sure this festive season rocks big time. Ah, well. E go better.

These days I have focused a lot more on my private enterprise; have a new consulting gig which have necessitated a few trips to our WA neighbour of late. As much as I enjoy career employment, I am beginning to get tired of the paycheck and hierarchy routine. It is beginning to look like the only way up is now via the cloak and dagger. Maybe I might want to consider a future long-term contract gig, maybe 3 years, then I retire and relocate to a saner environment. Maybe open a bar or something, pick up guitar, and . . .  lol, watch me dream.

Anyways, now comes the end of the year, and my ritual goal-setting routine for 2010. 2009 was not too bad after all said and done. Achieved more than 60% of my personal goals, which is an improvement over the last five years. Thankfully, it means I am going into 2010 on a high note.
Same here as per the highlighted bits. . .  undecided
Keep the thread alive boss. . wink

I hope Arsene will now draw out the cheque book in January. . .
We cant go five months without a striker of Van Persie's quality. . . We need a like for like replacement!
Eduardo and Vela are predatory strikers and dont really bring others into play. . .
For us to continue scoring freely, we need another striker who can play like Van Persie. . .
The question is, is there anyone available outhere come the january transfer window huh

Pepsi Begins Hunt for Next-Gen Eaglets

The Pepsi Football Academy may have began in earnest the search for next generation of national Under-17 players for the Golden Eaglets, to represent Nigeria in Mexico 2011 with under 13 – 15 years competition among all the centres of the Academy in Nigeria.
Tagged the Pepsi Festival of Youth, the competition is aimed at giving the Pepsi lads the opportunity to showcase their skills among their peers. The competition which is an annual event will run from Thursday November 26-28, 2009 according to Dr. Kasimawo Laloko, Director of Pepsi Football Academy and will hold at The Football College, Orile-Imo near Abeokuta.
Commenting on the competition, Mr. Iain Nelson, Consultant to the Pepsi Football Academy said, “With the age controversy which almost took the shine from the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria, it is important we begin to cultivate a crop of young talented players whose ages will not be in doubt to represent Nigeria in future competitions.
Pepsi Academy provides a reliable platform for the Nigerian football authorities to rest once and for all the issue of age cheating in age-grade competitions.”
Pepsi Football Academy have produced such youngsters as John Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingie, Onyekachi Apam, Joseph Akpala, etc all Super Eagles Players.
