Foreign Affairs › Re: Russia Says It Won't Cut Off Gas Supplies Yet In Rouble Payment Row by MrDebonair: 7:27am On Apr 03, 2022 |
SIRTee15: Nobody is paying in ruble. EU is still paying in euros and will continue to do so. Gazprom wasn't sanctioned by EU so the Russian edict is useless. EU will pay gazprom in euros, it's left for the Russian bank to change it to rubles or whatever and pay Putin. It's a meaningless law, just some useless political point for Putin just like his pyrrhic battles in Ukraine.
Besides Putin can't just shut off the gas pipeline like it's tap water. He can’t keep oil and gas from coming out of the ground without capping wells, and storage capacity will get filled very fast if shipments stop cold, and then what what next?
And unlike what some ignorant pro putin are saying, he can't immediately switch to China or any other country such huge volumes. Russia has no pipeline to China or India. Putin will be stupid to stop 60 percent of his budget revenues. How then will he fund his meaningless war?. He's bluffing! The most reasonable statement I have read on this topic. Others just spewing trash. |

SeaTrade: The alternatives will come at greater cost which will hit the final consumers so bad and steal from their purchasing power. These are the people who will give the west tough time via protests and possible anarchy over rising energy prices. Possible, but the rise in energy prices will stabilize over time. Can't be compared to the impact on Russian economy in the long term. |

I also pray that every veil covering your eyes be lifted You must be a local idiot. Obviously not enlightened and lack basic comprehension skills. Worry about the veil covering your eyes and destiny before you worry about someone who has a basic medical degree from Nigeria, 2 masters degree from UK and earning £ living a good life, well travelled and managing his own company. I pray that you get admission, survive medical school or engineering, find a job. If after all these you still reason the way you are doing right now, then you will need psychiatry evaluation and probably admission. Plonker. |

Too much of idiotic statements here from people who have no knowledge of how international trade works. Most just spewing thrash based on how far their little brain can reason.
Economics of trade is more complex than the rubbish I have been reading here. Putin knows fully well that his statement breaches the contract between the countries in question.
Overtime, Russia will have gas demand diminished as his economy collapses from sanctions and self inflicted economic disaster. There are alternatives to Russian gas supply, just a matter of time. |

We can't visit North of Nigeria. Even the rest part of Nigeria is too much risk to visit. So much going on in that Nigeria.
Why is the thought of visiting Nigeria associated with fear and concerns for safety?. Hoping with time there is improvement in security and safety.
Looking forward to the day I can visit Nigeria as a Nigerian and not as a British citizen afraid of visiting is home country. |

WATCHOVER: Look Putin will crumble United States. Russia has been helping even the US dollars, most of the deals Russia does before now was Dollars, that made the dollar one of the most sort out for, it made the dollar to have value. Unfortunately the United States under Biden never put this into consideration, no alternative to buy gas, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Venezuela the United States thought would help them in bringing an alternative backed out and promised to remain Neutral in this conflict, Expect Russia economy to be three times stronger than the United States and UK. The pounds is becoming Useless in value of late now Lol..."pound is becoming useless in value" says someone who doesn't have any investment in pounds. It's only in your head and in you mind that pound is becoming useless. You need to change your mindset, improve on your critical thinking and analysis. Good luck. |

Status quo at the moment is that Putin can choose to attack any country and threaten to use nuclear weapon if anyone intervened.
To all the Putin apologist, I wish Putin can attack Nigeria just like in Ukraine and then go on to issue further threat of nuclear weapon if any country intervened. |

MangekyoAlt: Dem say make you go school and get your empty, coconut isi ewu head educated, you no hear. Where you see USA in the thread, abi you think USA is UK?
The purpose of all these sanctions is to force Russians to remove putin from power. But according to one site I read two days ago, a pole was carried out and more than 69% of Russians are supporting putin now, more than they've been for a while now. Clearly, even a fool can see that those who are imposing the sanctions, are suffering from the sanctions The German leader has even come out to say he won't impose sanctions again because the ones they meted out are already badly affecting their economy. Putin will remain as Russian president till 2036, or even more. Russia is one of the biggest food and fertilizer exporter and their biggest customer is Europe and Africa. For a country to have more than enough food to even export should tell you how self sufficient they are. So my friend. Putin isn't going to regret anything. The west AKA USA and dirty, stinking lapdogs like small Britain threatened all these sanctions. He knew they would carry out their threats but still went on with his plans. I'm sure they have been preparing for this since Crimea Worry about your dirty stinking fantastically corrupt Nigeria. Even if Britain is small, we are by far better than your "Giant of Africa". |

ValCon888: It's extremely difficult to kill a sniper. Because they stay faraway from the war front unlike regular infantry. An elite sniper can stay in one spot under camouflage for more than three days trying to blend with the environment while waiting for the perfect shot.
Their specialty is to kill high value targets, senior officers like colonels and generals in order to halt the chain of command and deplete morale. Don't be surprised many of these Russian generals were taken out by snipers. One of the smartest read here. Well said. |
