It is wrong to use Glyphosate on already grown Maize. If your maize survives it, it will be saved only because of the Atrazine present in the other two hebicides. Next time, he should use just the Striker and 24D.
You guys should be careful with the ways you dished wrong advice in the public forum. It's misleading. This is Internet, the whole world, not only Naija, is reading. It's not by force to comment on subjects you no little or nothing about.
Everyone up here just condemned your initial approval of glyphosate usage on grown maize here you are again dropping another disjointed piece.
On another thread, you are also the one who was advising/encouraging farmers to be selling maize @N40 per cob in this period of high cost of production.

wetin You go talk if I tell you say Fulani no dey near our street and the one behind it?
Of course that didn't happen without serious wahala. Me go cut you and the Malu. Got so serious that One day, they waitied for me on the road and 3 of them attacked me. both them + Me were surprized how I survived. of course I never attempted to run else that would have been my end. I fought back despite their 3 cutlasses, I managed to wound and over power them.

Funny enough, na Community dey give them power. Not all the COWs are owned by the Fulanis. In fact most are even owned by Oga of Soldiers and Area Commander of Police. Even community head sef dey follow get.

Well after everything, they tried coming thinking I would get scared due to what happened and the injury I sustained BUT I let them know that now, it would be worse.
Before na only beating I dey beat Malu, after that encounter, na Cut I dey cut Malu + you wey dey lead them if I cat any. So tey even dem Oga beg me say anyTime I see them, I should call him BUT I told him I am not interested in calling anyOne. Tell your people what routes to never pass through.

NowAdays, we greet, and I even greet them if I see them on the road BUT it ends there.

It's been close to 4-years now, all dey avoid our street and the street behind.

Another na Goat and I took care of those also. Me go just LAME your goat, carry am put for middle of road. Now even the One wey dey form Soldier don build PEN for him goat while the GOATs sef don get sense. Dem dey avoid our street join.

So you see, continue crying and nothing changes. me no wan die BUT I still no fear to die.

Funny enough, Most fellow community members would support you in FRONT but behind you, na opposite. Glad I ain't the type that moves with crowd.

Una go continue to cry till the day you dry youe TEARs and do something about it.
Similar experience here bro. Na so dem dey graze on my farm dey ignore them but the day they reach climax, na so I vex enter their base few Km from my farm. Ordinary para and warning o, they dragged out their dagger and machete to attack me thinking i be one ajebo. That was the day I experimented all the epic war and martial arts films wey I don watch. I beat the hell out of them, overpowered and used my cutlass to pluck out one of their cutlasses. I had the opportunity to cut off the head of that particular one that I disarmed but my church mind no gree me. I just carry the machete go give the vigilante.

Who did the application ?

Your chemical combination is perfect
What's perfect in the combination? How is using glyphosate on grown corn of that age perfect?

mazamb:
Seven Days ago.
Glyphosate, 24D and Striker were applied.
Confirm very well, If glyphosate is truly among the mixture, just forget about the corn...your farm manager has killed/ruined your farm.

Pls my dear okro Farmers, is there brand of okro that matures and produce within 40 days?.
I have been seen promotion of a kind of okra called 40 days okra on social media. How truth is this and is it marketable in the South here?.
It's actually 45 days but it's the long slim fruits varieties. It's more of northern choice and some foreigners also crave for it. It's not marketable in the South except during dry season when the short fruits are very scarce.

Ok thanks we'll definitely try out this.

Any recommendation for rodent especially rat control pls
All the above mentioned chemicals are for outdoor/agricultural application.

For indoor rat control, get PUSH OUT, usually sold by those pushing wheel barrow and few agro stores, sprinkle the powder on baits like fish or cheese balls and place in strategic locations. It can also be used outdoor.
Also, for those small size indoor rats, you can use rat-glue boards, the board looks like a hard cover notebook with thick paste of gum layer on the inner surface when opened. Open up the two-leaf board and place on their frequent pathways.

Okay we observed that some arachnids didn't get killed even after doubling the mixture dosage.
Kindly advise on a more potent chemical for outdoor fumigation?
Very surprised to hear this cos its active ingredient, Dichlorvos popularly called DDVP (same a.i. in Sniper) is very potent. You can as well try out Rocket.

Okay thanks for the speedy response. We're using a 16L knapsack sprayer for compound Fumigation against crawling ~ creepy insects, sunflies etc .

Do you advise we apply 40-45ml content to 16L water volume
Yes, it's ok.

Welcome to the thread, Its your rebranded OP grin .
Both columns are still speaking same language. If you are mixing in a 400L capacity vessel/drum/mechanized spraying, you go for the 1st column. But if you are using a 15L knapsack sprayer, you go for the 2nd.
AgricultureRe: Cassava Farming Feasibilty Study by Mrdellychy:
GideonOludayomi:
With about 250k, you should be able to start your cassava farm. It all mostly depends on your person - can you do the rugged works?

On 1 acre, you should have between 800- 1000 heaps. And a good harvest, should give you nothing less than 6 tons.

There are lots of methodological differences in how individuals farm cassava. So, don't expect too much validations.
At the bolded, that's not correct except you are constructing many super-highway inbetween your heaps.

The Sallah in view has even created artificial scarcity and pushed up price right now as a flour bag of pepper and crate of tom is well above 100k and 60k respectively.

The problem with humans is "greediness." Why? If you look at this situation, this is like Joseph of the BibLe. Even... Isaac. How? You make it big during farmine.

You will all make it big. But no way. These people will bring their madness. Consultants will come and dupe newbies. Lol. However, it is very easy to make money during this time. I follow the news every day, and I knew tomatoes would be in high demand at this time. In fact, it will not come down till next year. What stops farmers from coming together. 15 people should fix 1 ha and take it 1 plot each. It can be done, but these people will NEVER make it work.

If you see the situation in Nigeria as a negative, it is a positive for me because we are cashing out steadily and heavily. Lol.

What is stopping you from getting together and buying a carton of broiler? They share it 5 each. And then, they keep buying like every 2 weeks. That will be 5 broilers for the family every 2 weeks.

What stops them from buying layers and buying feed together to reduce the cost. 5 layers per family give 25 eggs per week. Does this not make sense?

What is preventing them from having home gardens, and those who do not have backyards should help those who do.

What is stopping you from starting a tomato farm? It can be funded by ten to fifty people. And they process the tomatoes into pastes. They can have 6 months to 12 months supply.

There are so many ways to get this job done, but people are too greedy and selfish. This life is simple. 100 people can come together and live without Tinubu and APC. But guess what? They will fight. Someone among them always have a bad idea inside. Someone among them will always cause a fight. They must destroy collaboration. The evil in them will not allow them to come together. It is a curse. A very big one.

This is the problem individuals have in Naija. This is the problem our parents and grandparents refused to solve. We are still battling this demon. It is this evil that will wreck Naija. Believe me...the human mind is desperately wicked, so says the Bible. Who can search it?

Guys....if you can just stay together....if you can work together, Naija will not happen to you. I rather see a light at the end of the tunnel here.

I have created groups like this in the past. I have led WhatsApp and telegram groups of capable farmers. I have piloted many programs. I know the evil in humans.

Right now, my focus is sustainability. Environmental sustainability, green energy, blue economy, carbon sequence and cycle, micro-biology, ecology, and above all....wellness.

Wellness is my top priority at this moment. My vision is to create a network of Nigerians who want to live sustainable life and adopt longetivity. We will live above 100 years in good health. This group of people will make an impact in this world before answering the call of God to rest at the right time. No cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. We will remove them from our life because we know that if we can clean the food we eat, we have solved 80% of the wahala. The rest na exercising and spirituality.

We aren't focused on looting public funds cos we are above that. We are moving forward to make good lives for ourselves instead of depending on Nigeria. Nigeria will never happen to us. Never. We will live.good life in it. Say wetin na?

Na who no wan live better life dey complain about the economy. We are tapping into the world economy. I have written a lot about that. Go read my threads. Stay healthy......get rich with peace of mind.

I eat steadily good food. Wetin concern me? Na you dey shout "ebi n pa wa". Lol. Na that hunger go kill ya.

The same way on over fed baboon told me when I was looking for land to lease last year.
.
Lol
Their ridiculous charges is a sign that they know nothing about farming. If they do, them suppose pity farmers small. If he's leasing an acre for 200k, can a farmer realize a gross sale of 200k from selling a fresh corn from one acre in the South?
If the land has a thick vegetation, land prep (clearing, packing/burning,ploughing,) alone can gulp up to 100k per acre. Cost of treatments/maintenance: herbicides, insecticides, seed, etc all of them dey there.
If not for the current inflation in the price of farm products/ food, few years ago, a ton of cassava sold less than 20k and u can only get an average of 7ton of the tuber from an acre.

Oh! That basket size should be equal or a little bigger than a big paint bucket cos I learnt the biggest hausa basket sell for around 90k and crate sell for 30k plus in mile 12.
All southern markets don't have uniform size of basket, the ones used in ogun is diff from those in Oyo, and from those in osun. Unlike the northern markets, their baskets are uniform.

Lol! I saw it too na. See, there is always an intention behind what humans do. But take it from me, people who pose like "dem dey help you" .....believe me...they have their ways of helping themselves. Lol.

Do you really believe there is a place in Nigeria now of today with the way things are, and the sales from a plot of cassava is around N60k? Lol. Na so dem dey help na and collect 50 to 70% of the sales. Lol.

I don't know why people don't just focus on their projects and pray God should bless them there instead of messing around like this. Na dem dey always get invisible massive acres of crop....lol...like how guy man is claiming ownership of 6 acres around the thread. Lol.

May God help new farmers. The way people who are readynto milk them dry pretend like angel Gabriel and keep delivering "better messages" to them. Lol. Don't be surprised that such people will even add some things inside the farm to make more profit for themselves and they will not share with the owners. Na their ways.

Just 67,000 Naira.

Yes, two plots can give around say 120,000 Naira
120k from 2plots over a period of 10 to 12 months, whether gross or net, is too poor.
A plot should give nothing less than 500 heaps/stands of cassava. Currently in my area , the tuber is sold N50k per 200 stand (they call it one igba and you people are talking about 2 plots which can generate roughly 1000 stands./heaps.
The cost of the total expenses can be offset by intercropping it with stuff like maize that can be sold off in less than 3months.
AgricultureRe: 2,4-D And Maize Plant Weakening, Falling by Mrdellychy:
Abdullahi4u7:
Have you ever experienced weakening of maize stems and falling of the plants after 2,4-D application for weed control?

How did you control it, what did you do to prevent a recurrence?
You must have contravened one or both of these...
1. You must have used excess. Don't use beyond 100ml. What quantity did you use?
2. Even with 100ml per 16L pump, it's best applied when your maize is young...less than 4weeks. Once it's above 1 month, don't use 2,4-D instead use Nicosulfuron.
How old is your plant?

Why do farmers buy fruit seeds? Can't you take out of the hundreds of seeds from the fruit?🤷‍♀️
Lol... planting seeds extracted from fruits is like gambling cos you dont know the history/variety you are planting.
In commercial scale, it's better to buy seeds from seed dealers or farmers who grow them cos they get to know the history (disease/ drought resistance ability, maturity date, yield, size/shape of the fruits etc) of the seed they are buying. The history helps to make some informed decisions...for example, some varieties of seed crop are better planted during dry season while some in rainy season.
