6 Types of People You should Never Date... Starting a relationship is a big step, it can either make you or mar you. There are some kinds of people you just should not dateto protect yourself from trouble. Here are a few of them: 1, Controlling People:Controlling people always give conditions. They have a prepared list of what you can do and what you must not do. They want to tell you what to wear how to act, where to go etc. You must always abide by their rules. Controlling people choke you and make you feel like you’re dating a dictator. 2, Selfish People: Selfish people will never care about you. They will make the relationship all about them. They are not willing to sacrifice anything for you or the relationship or invest anythinginto your progress. Selfish people are only interested in how much they can gain from you 3, Proud People: Proud people aredifficult to date because they are constantly reminding you howmuch better than you they are. They want you to know how many other people areinterested in them, how much money they make etc. Proud people are constantly blowing their own trumpet and they will never apologize or admit being wrong. 4, Negative People: Negative people never see good in anything. They are always complaining. They will always be suspicious and distrustful and make you feel guilty all the time. Negative people can dampenyour spirit and sap your energy. 5, Rude People: Rude people will disrespect you every chance they get. If someone you barely know constantly shows disrespect to people while you’re there then expect to be treated the same way. 6, Possessive People: Possessive people are clingy and needy. They want you to be with them all the time. If you try to spend time with other people, they’ll make you feel guilty by saying you don’t care about them. |

Culture › Re: The Mystery Behind The Birth Of The Oba Of Benin by Mrevildoer(m): 8:40pm On Apr 21, 2013 |
[quote author=ighoosagie]culled from GUARDIAN, March 29, 2004
It is not just the silver jubilee of the reign of Oba Erediauwa the Edos celebrate. They celebrate survival. They celebrate continuity, they celebrate stability amongst other events. March 23, 1979 merely marked the day the reigning Oba ascended the throne of his forebears soon after the immediate past Oba Akenzua II joined his ancestors. On this day, both the burial and succession rites were completed.
The transformation of a heir apparent (Edaiken) to that of a king (Oba) was concretised and solemnised. The whole city and environs in an ecstasy, resonated with the sound of 'Oba ghato' okpere'. The heavens, the ancestors and the gods re-echoed with the sound of 'Ise'. A peep at the sky exposed the sun and the moon in an eclipse as a mark of heavenly acknowledgement.
Prince Solomon Akenzua now known by the title of Uku Akpolokpolo, Omo n'Oba N'Edo Erediauwa became the 38th Oba of Benin in Oba Eweka 1 dynasty that began at about the 12th c AD. This ancient kingdom as a result of its resilience, power and sophistication grew to becme an empire during the reigns of the warrior kings - Ewuare, Ozolua, Esigie and Orhogbua. Its influence covered the whole of the Niger Delta and as far as Lagos and beyond the present day Republic of Benin.
Erediauwa ascended the throne of his ancestors which for over 1000 years, ascendance had been by a system of primogeniture where only the eldest surviving son of the king succeeds his father. And it has remained so ever since. The Edos (Binis) are quite emotional about their Oba. The monarchy could be a sore and soothing spot for them anytime, but it remains a reference point cherished by all at all times. The Oba is in their parables, in their dos and don'ts in their folklores inheritance, marriage, customs funeral rites indeed in their everyday life, including ancestral worship which like the umbilical cord, ties the Oba and his subjects into one spiritual, inseparable complex whole. In the Catholic church for example, the Eucharistic priest raises the chalice and prays for the Pope, the Bishop and the priests. And this is done every day all over the world whenever mass is said.
In Benin also wherever prayer is said with Kolanut in all ancestral shrines in public or private homes, prayers are always concluded with 'Oba' khato Okpere - meaning may the Oba live long or as the British would say in their National Anthem, 'God save the Queen'. All these, combined with the operational nature of the guilds fortified their tradition as functional instrument of administration. Without the Oba, there is a big vacuum. This was what baffled the British when in 1897, Benin was under a military junta, the Oba exiled and a period of interregnum imposed: while in other places they were able to get an alternative but in Benin kingdom, it posed a dilemma for them.
In 1897, the British army in a punitive mission succeeded in a battle to dislodge the military might of the Binis and thereby truncated the reign of Ovonranmwen Nogbasi,. They tried him and exiled him to Calabar where he died in 1914. This incidence of course opened the way for the British to embark on the last phase of her colonisation of Nigeria by amalgamating the Northern and Southern Nigeria into one administrative country called Nigeria. Before the punitive expedition of 1897 the British had tried various political, economic, commercial and merchantile tactics to get at an empire that had flourished for about a thousand years dating back to the era of the Ogisos. Before the coming of the British, the Benin Empire had diplomatic and trade contacts with the Portuguese in the 15th century during the reign of Ozolua, Esigie and Orhogbua. After the Portuguese, came the Dutch in the 17th century.
The British were about the last of the adventurers and traders to visit Benin to transact business treaties, trading agreements with the kingdom towards the end of 19th century. The British tested the waters under the cover of the Royal Niger Company, Oil River Protectorate, the Niger Delta Protectorate and the Southern Nigeria Protectorate. She continued to expand her influence at the expense of the coastal kingdoms. She deceived the Oba of Benin into a series of trading, diplomatic and peace treaties, beneficial only to the imperial government of Great Britain.
The period of interregnum (1897-1914) was long enough to alter, adulterate, deface, substitute and destroy any existing political arrangement that stood between the British colonial agenda and the conquered people. Like they have done in East Africa and in other parts of the British Empire, raising a powerful individual as a tool in her divide and rule scheme was the British standard stock-in-trade. Agho Obaseki's industry and resourcefulness were harnessed and cultivated by the British beyond the call of duty. Agho became powerfu |

Politics › Re: Obasanjo Had A Killer Squad As President -- Former Associate by Mrevildoer(m): 4:25pm On Apr 21, 2013 |
Sincere 9gerian: A former associate of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mr. Richard Odusanya, on Saturday alleged that the former chairman of theruling Peoples Democratic Party's Board of Trustees was in charge of a killer squad that was formed under the military regime of late Gen. Sani Abacha.
Odusanya reportedly worked behind the scenes when Obasanjo was in power.
In a live interview, with an online news portal, Sahara Reporters , Odusanya alleged that the former President lodged the killer squad at a State Security Service headquarters, known as 'Yellow House.'
He appeared on the programme alongside Mr. Segun Seriki, a PDP member in Ogun State and a member of the House of Representatives in the Third Republic, under the Social Democratic Party.
According to Odusanya, the squad was used for political assassinations and was responsible for the unresolved killings of politicians under Obasanjo's administration.
He further alleged that Obasanjo knew about the murder of the former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, and a South-South politician, Chief Harry Marshall.
Odusanya said, "I believe that a killer squad created during the Abacha regime was kept by Obasanjo and housed at SSS headquarters, known as Yellow House, and was used for political assassinations."
Explaining Obasanjo's alleged link with Ige's death, Odusanya said, "The night Chief Bola Ige was assassinated, a top PDP member confided in me that Obasanjo told him Bola Ige was down."
Concerning the murder of Marshall, he said, "I also took a gift to Marshall and he was assassinated just a few weeks later."
Odusanya also alleged that the ex-president benefitted from an account with the defunct Trans-International Bank and that from the funds in the account, Obasanjo, asked him to deliver a Peugeot 607 and the sum of N500,000 to a woman (name withheld).
When contacted for Obasanjo's comments, his Chief of Staff, Mr. Victor Durodola, said his boss was not available to react to theallegations. He challenged those who made the allegations to come out with their evidence.
Durodola said, "The former president is not available. Therefore, he is not in a position to respond to the allegations. However, my personal comment is that these are people who indulge in blackmail.
"Why are they using online television? They should come to Channels , AIT , or NTA ; these are television stations that are known.
"Definitely, that is not Obasanjo's character they are describing and everybody knows that. Of all the military rulers, the issue of killer squad cannot be attributed to him. That was not his style. He is not around now but I doubt if he would even give it any attention whatsoever. He stressed that the ex-president could not have been responsible for the unresolved killings under his administration.
He further argued that Obasanjo had no reason to be involved in Ige's assassination. "We would like to see it (the interview) but these are issues you know cannot be possible. The killings were unresolved, yes, but you know that nobody could have attributed that to him. He would kill his minister for what? So that he (Obasanjo)could be minister?" Durodola said.
Another Obasanjo aide, Vitalis Ortese, told one of our correspondents on the telephone that the allegation was a non-issue.
He said, "I don't know them. Let them prove the allegation. I don't know any Segun Seriki or Richard Odusanya."
Also reacting to the allegations, Bola Ige's eldest child, Mrs. Funsho Adegbola, told SUNDAY PUNCH that her father's killers are still alive.
Adegbola, a lawyer, called for the reopening of the Bola Ige murder case. She said, "I can't put anything past them. I haven't seen the interview. I don't know the content of the report but I can'tput anything past them. I believe the people who killed my father - the foot soldiers and the people who sent them -are alive. They are not people from Mars. "A murder case can go on for 30 years or more. If there is political will and the government wants to show that people should pay for theircrimes, this can be done. The family can't do anything about it because it is the state versus the suspects. The family can't sue; it is the state that can take action."
Ige, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was shot dead in his Ibadan home on December 23, 2001.
Following a mass protest over the killing, the Federal Government had deployed troops in the South-Western state to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
While security agencies had arrested some suspects allegedly involved in the murder, including the then deputy governor of Osun State -Ige's home state - Mr. Iyiola Omisore, they were however discharged and acquitted.

Vilicious: Am not asking for fun but to know. The bible teaches that If someone slaps you in one side of your cheek, you should turn the other side. After a sermon in my campus fellowship, a guy wanted to tempt me. As I was standing in front of my fellowship members, a guy just ran close to me, slapped me and stated running away. I ran after him, (I was bigger and faster) caught him and pounced on him in front of my fellowship members, some fellowship members were not happy with my action, they said I was not in the spirit. I know I should have let it go, as a christian. So here is my question; if someone hit you do you turn the other side and walk away or are you a little bit like me (am trying to change o) please share your experience too welL it pends on the sLapper if itz sum1 with wide or flat hands run!! bobbyruffy: A randy husband Edwin (surname withheld) at the Junior Staff Quarters, Asaba, Delta State, has put his wife's bosom in the family way three months after wedding.
Reports said Edwin's wife on Thursday last week moved out of her matrimonial home when it was confirmed by the husband's personal doctor that her friend was pregnant for her husband.
Edwin's wife and her friend, were course mates at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ill- Efe, where Edwin, who was then doing his youth service in the area, met her.
It was gathered that, Nneka, as she was identified, made herself useful to her newly married friend who had become pregnant, a situation she allegedly took advantage of by making herself useful in home chores and helping to prepare meals for the man, who is reportedly a senior banker in one of the new generation banks.
The victim, who did not want her name in print, said: "I never knew there was something fishy as I was not suspecting my best friend. But there was a day she told me she was going to check her parents in Ibadan. A day after she left, my husband told me he was billed for an official assignment in Lagos, and would not be back in four days time. My husband returned to Asaba about the same time Nneka came back from her Ibadan trip.
"Two months later, a lady in our estate called me and asked if I observed that Nneka was pregnant. I called her one day to ask her. She opened up, telling me she had actually wanted to tell me but do not know how to approach the matter.
"It was then she opened up, telling that it was the time she traveled to Ibadan, my husband came to meet her and they both slept together for four days."

VICAF: 1. Do not shave off your eyebrows only to redraw them with a pencil… it makes no sense
2. Do not put on too much make up, you end up looking like you came out of the make-up factory.
3. Do not wear a vest or sleeveless top without shaving your armpits or without a bra underneath
4. Do not leave chipped nail polish to wear off on its own, there's a reason why they sell nail polish remover.
5. If you can’t afford good quality weaves, don’t bother.
6. Do not do artificial nails that makes you look like a drag queen, simple is always sexy.
7. See-through leggings or a top used as a dress when you are out in public is a hell-to-the-no!
8. Never do things for a man with a hope of getting something in return, expectations are dangerous. Do it because you simply want to.
9. Never contradict what your man says - in public.
10. Never stalk the man that left you for the other woman.
11. Do not share your best friend's personal life with every Tom, Dick and Harry.
12. Women should never act on distress in relationships like checking your man’s phone, nagging him to death, and acting like a paranoid freak. You will simply release him to someone else by doing so.
13. Never dish out your entire family drama on a first date. The guy just wants to know about you.
14. Stop obsessing over your body. It’s good to eat healthy and work out but let's leave it at that.
15. Never over-accessorize. stop looking like a Christmas tree.
16. Never leave home without lipgloss, your phone and most of all, your dignity.
17. Never leave your used sanitary towel in the toilet for the next person to see. Women please!
18. Never wear very high heels if you can’t do the Naomi Campbell walk. You look like a drunk grasshopper.
19. Never wear short skirts and low cut tops when off to an interview. You will create the wrong impression.
20. And finally, 'Never wish to be like any other woman. There are others out there envying you for who you are' - Author unknown

KenGali: I am not sure what traits you mean, asking your husband to love you is not a trait. Love here means showing it.
If you mean the other issue about being faithful, I do not think the OP wife is unfaithful, else she will not be complaining. she will rather give him a false sense of peace. If your fiancée is unfaithful to you, I do not think it is right to go on. But you must be able to differentiate un-faithfulness from keeping her options open, After all tomorrow you may decide not to marry her, so she will have other male friends (not lovers) its normal. But she will always treat you differently and with preference.
If you are talking about confident women, not submissive. Its a personal choice. Me I prefer women who are not afraid cause am a risk taker. I do not have a huge ego either. But you should be able to establish a slight dominance with your woman without stiffling her. SPECIAL ADVISER |

vicoson: My wife says she did me a favour by marrying me, so I should be happy she married me.
We've been married for 3 years with 2 kids. Prior to our marriage we dated for about a year. She even moved in with me when she had accomodation problem for 6 months. During this period I saw hell. She showed me no respect, was playing her games very openly. Her phone rings 24/7, multiple love sms.
When I talk about settling down together, she would say her parents won't agree because my place is far-I'm from Akwa Ibom and she is from Mbaise. Obviously she did not want to marry me but she wouldn't just leave.
She travelled twice to check out some suitors while she was still leaving with me and I got to know from another source. She didn't deny it but said her sister's gave her the connection. One of those guys is an illiterate drug pusher.
Finally things got to a head. I dicovered condoms hidden in her handbag, I had to throw her out of my house. Somehow somehow, we hooked again but this time I only wanted to use her. Not quite long she took in. Although both of us had earlier agreed we won't marry each other, she later claimed she has started loving me but I did not love her anymore. I went ahead and married her. I even did elaborate wedding. From day one till today, it has always been trouble.
Complaint, complaint, complaint. Nagging, nagging, nagging. She is at the centre of the universe, everybody must worship her, she must be in charge.
Trust me, with this pride I made sure she wields zero power in my house.
Before I forget, I am a Mechanical Engineer, she doesn't have a good O-level.
Yes, my emotions are on vacation, is it my fault? Nah u falLcup right from day1 why you give her ring? |
