Nairalander Ezeuche is right after all about kidnapping incidences in Abia being concentrated in ngwaland. For those who do not know, like other Nigerian states, Abia is divided into 3 zones: north central and south. The south is completely ngwa (and their ukwa cousins) while the central comprise of half-ngwa half-umuahians, and the north comprise of Arochukwu, Ohafia and their Bende and okigwe (Isuikwuato) neighbours. Between them, the north and central (umuahia part) have produced all abia leaders of Abia origin, to the exclusion of the south and the part of the central that is ngwa. Yet, the south produces all the oil that makes Abia an oil-producing state. Ngwa people decided to draw attention to their political plight by involving in illegalities including kidnapping and armed robbery. It is clear that 90 % of all the kidnappings, armed robberies, baby manufacturing and human rituals that take place in Abia state come from the ngwa axis. I have just been informed that the reason, especially for the recent spate of kidnappings and bank robberies, is to discredit the current governor (who is from the central but non-ngwa), make him appear incompetent and thus, ineligible to continue in 2011. The Ngwa have decided to use all means possible to them to actualize their age-long desire to rule in Abia. Interestingly, Abia has a zoning formular that guarantees an ngwa the governoship in 2015. Why they would not wait until then can only be imagined. The police is not helping matters by not naming all the kidnappers they have arrested and their villages in ngwaland. Residents of Abia north and non-ngwa Abia central live in relative peace and security compared to those in ngwaland. Ngwa people are destroying Abia state, in particular, and Igboland in general. I know that there is kidnapping in other parts of Nigeria perpetrated by non ngwas (and non Igbos at large), but am concerned about Abia because I have inlaws from ngwa and cousins whose maternal homes are in ngwaland. I appreciate that they have been marginalized politically in Abia, just like Igbos are marginalized politically in Nigeria since after the war but that is no excuse to seek to bring Abia into such disrepute. As state creation kicks off, I pray that ngwas will get a state of their own so they can rule themselves to their heart's content. For now, all kidnappers should be rounded up and dealt the appropriate punishment. Meanwhile, Onovo should resign and give a more competent cop the opportunity to salvage the situation. Summary: the spate of kidnappings in Abia is politically motivated by ngwas to discredit non-ngwa rulership and take power in 2011. Without a delay yes. He is nothing but an incompetent prick |
NUJ Kidnap victims: Police begins house-to-house search From Geoffrey Anyanwu, Awka Friday, July 16, 2010 Following the failure of the kidnappers to obey the 24-hour ultimatum by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo, to release the four journalists and driver abducted six days ago, the Police has commenced a house to house search in suspected areas. advertisement Onovo told newsmen yesterday that he was optimistic that by today, the victims would be found. “I gave them 24 hours but 24 hours have come and gone and we have not seen them. So, our men have entered into the suspects’ enclave and we are searching house by house, community by community one after the other. “We are searching the areas where we believe they are hiding. We are searching for them one after the other. Hopefully by the end of the day, we will recover them wherever they are,” he said. The IG said the police need more security gadgets such as telephone tracking machine, the involvement of town union leaders and vigilance groups. |
These Yoruba people and rituals. Dey sleep na ritual, dey wake up na ritual, dey run na ritual, dey walk na ritual, dey go church na ritual, mosque nko, the same. na wa oh! |
Yes, Onovo should resign immediately. He is incompetent and in a bid to cover his incompetence, he sells off his people to curry favour before other Nigerians by falsely claiming that all kidnappers are Igbo. Unlike Onovo's ignorance, it is as clear as daylight that there are Yoruba kidnappers, Igbo kidnappers, Niger Delta Kidnappers and possibly, Northern kidnappers. Let the police publish the names of all the kidnappers in their custody. It is time to name and shame them, be they of any ethnic hue. |
The soldiers must be Yoruba. Yoruba soldiers are the ones fond of beating up innocent citizens. Arogunadade and co comes to mind |
bk/babe90:Bought with stolen money. Count me out. I do not savour stolen wealth. |
Ibime:Wrong. It was not announced when kidnappers were running around in Rivers, delta, Bayelsa and Ondo. It was not announced in the north even as they kill themselves up until today. |
^^^^^ Is he (Oni) not behaving true to type, kind of? |
Aigbofa and bk/babe90: What is the meaning of gbomogbomo? When did we start hearing that word in comparison to kidnapping? |
Hahah MKO was betrayed by a fellow thief who goes bythe name of oni? |
