that Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is
preparing to walk down the aisle with a former
Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Sylvia Nduka.
Dangote is reportedly not married for now but he
has children. Nduka on the other hand, is a
single lady whose claim to fame was winning the
most coveted pageant in Nigeria in the year
2013.

Though Nduka is a Christian, she has reportedly
agreed to convert to Islam in other to satisfy

initials of the Kano-born billionaire on her
instagram page profile.

Oyo state police command has apprehended 21 young men under the age of 25 in possession of 122 condoms, and arrested them for belonging to a gay cult.
The young men were picked up by the police in Ibadan at a birthday party, The organizer of the party said that it was just a birthday party but the police claimed that they were all in an gay cult due to the 122 condoms and the absence of women.

The police claimed that they got a tip that it was a gay party and therefore stormed the house.
The police said that the absence of women confirmed their investigations.
However, the human rights organisation, The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIER) spoke out against the arrest of the boys, and said the boys were assaulted physically and made to incriminate themselves by police officers.

A spokesman of the organization said: “At the point of arrest, the young men were physically assaulted and treated in a manner unbecoming of any legal process: they were photographed in their underwear, made to write statements under duress and locked up in an overcrowded cell.”
After lawyers from the International Center for Reproductive Health and Sexual Rights (INCRESE) intervened, the suspects were granted bail notices from N5,000 to N10,000, while the organizer of the party was made to pay N21,000.
The young men rejected appealing against the maltreatment they received in police custody so as not to labelled as gays.
Eleven of the 21 have been bailed by their family, while 10 were bailed by INCRESE, who then took them to a safe house.

The young men all claimed that the police arrest was just to extort money from them.
“It is obvious that there is a need to create more public awareness and the need for victims to take up cases with solid support of the movement. Without this, cases like this will continue to occur with limited or no option for proper adjudication for justice”,the TIER spokesman said.
In Nigeria, same-sex relationships are illegal, and the maximum punishment for same-sex sexual activity is 14 years’ imprisonment.

The governor, who over the time has shown his love for youths and entrepreneurial skills, on May 16th gifted popular singer, MC Galaxy, a brand new Prado SUV.
The presentation of the car to the Sekem crooner who is a native of Akwa Ibom was done at the Akwa Ibom state government House.
It was gathered that the governor had pledged the car to the musician during his album launch on May 2nd.
Meanwhile, there are insinuations that the governor got excited about the singer when he sang his praises in his recent album.

I know this topic has been raised several times but let's get at it again.

Multichoice has now decided to increase the price of GOtv plus to N1,800 while startimes is priced at N1,200 monthly

But main difference between the 2 is that Gotv has 2 supersports channels that shows you live champions league matches and premiership matches sometimes.

I have been using Gotv since inception but am thinking of switching to startimes, I will be honest

1. the programs on Gotv are becoming rehashed contents... for example most Movies on African Magic Yoruba, I have watched almost all that they are showing (almost nothing new)

2. Gotv do not offer free to air channels (after your subscription ends) even following the price increase. They said you must pay N6,600 for GOtv open to get 6 free to air channels

3. Considering someone like myself that watches the TV only in the evening or weekends, I feel it's like cheating oneself paying for such low quality and still don't get the full benefit

I have seen startimes plan and I think it's considerable. what do you guys think.

The Nigerian military confirmed the rescue of
another group of women and children from the
infamous Boko Haram hideout, Sambisa forest.

In a Wednesday statement Maj. Gen. Chris
Olukolade, the army spokesperson, said that
the Special Forces carried out a successful
operation on May 5, having freed 25 women and
children.
Olukolade also made known that seven
camps had been destroyed and a number of
terrorists killed during the raid. However, four
soldiers were injured in the course of the
clash with Boko Haram fighters. Still, Colonel
Sani Usman said yesterday that one soldier had
died and five had been wounded.

“Seven additional terrorists camps were
yesterday destroyed as more terrorists also
died in the ongoing onslaught to flush them out of
Sambisa forest. An additional 25 women and
children were rescued in the process.

“The troops who scaled series of land mines in
continuation of the assault on the forest bases of
the terrorists, captured camps which include the
four notorious Alafa camps as well as those in
Rogo Fulani, Laraga and others used as training

Rocket Propelled Grenades, Anti-Aircraft Guns
and a number of vehicles were either captured
or destroyed during the operation. Four soldiers
were wounded and have evacuated for
treatment.
“The operations are continuing with troops
demonstrating high morale and fighting spirit as
they search the forests for terrorists, arms and
hostages.”
Based on the circulating reports the number of
hostages recently rescued from Sambisa has
already hit 1,000.
Many of the women were impregnated while in
captivity. All the victims have a long period of
rehabilitation ahead to undergo the trauma.
