Now to the verds,was this battle worth the hype?


Opener - 1 point - Paayne ---------Zach's 'paayne feeling paayne' effect has been worn out in retrospect to Paayne's previous opponents,so no sting was felt at all.
Paayne was creative with his opener,with a killer punch,that's how you do it,you draw first blood.

Rhymes - 2 points- Zach -- since Paayne had longer schemes his rhymes were bound to fall off at times.


Similes/ Metaphors - 2 points-- Tie ---- can't separate this,both did well,though there were some few generic ish.


Punchlines - 3 points- Paayne ---- the creative style he brought in delivering his punches gave him the edge,it was nice and hitting ,while Zach showed improvements in his set-ups,to end it with a bang was kinda a prob,case in point that Deeney's line could have been more effective if the 9 and 'the knee' was in synch reminiscing the Watford striker. This shoulda been better 'using my 9 on the knee' , '9 on the knee' being the effect there perfectly summing up the striker and his number not 9 at your own back then shooting 'the knee' of Paayne,its outta place. such little details shouldn't be overlooked


Personals - 2 points- nil -----This criterion was the reason this battle wasn't worth the hype,I mean there are so many angles both battlers could have used against each other but both fell short,with the qualms at my championship thread one would think both would exploit that in delivering some hurting personals, wasted chances here. I was so disappointed .

This battle tilted to one side as Kineticist brought below the stipulated number of bars, and it's becoming an habit cus that was also his undoing during the tourney.

Though this doesn't take anything from the decent effort of Paayne, had the advantage of bringing enough contents to pack this up.

In all, the bout was enjoyable but not even.


On a side note this thread should be closed its long overdue.

To your answer 'NO' I don't use any rhyming dictionary.
My own style of crafting rhyme differs, my Punch determines how my rhyming go.

This might be long though.

Before scripting a verse for an opponent,what comes to me first is the Punchline,then I start working with the set-up(it must correlate with the punch,that's the only way it lands better),then the Rhyming comes into play as a string in tying everything together,it must not sway off the punch( that's where most emcees get it wrong they just rhyme for rhyming sake going out of point weakening the punch).
Note It must be MULTI-SYLLABIC,in this age of textceeing mono-syllables aren't accepted.

This is how it goes, a punch comes to my head,let's say 'Pulling your legs' - 4 syllables , I work with that,the statement in line to the rhyme must match I.e make sense.
E.G

*I'm aiming for his Limbs ,amputation's the best | Ripped
his hands out,now I'm off to the next | left his femur
'cracked up' ,while I'm making a Jest | the sword goes
through his knees, damn his pleading or begs | c'mon Zach .
. . don't take the pain & bleeding serious . . .I'm just 'Pulling
Your Legs' |

So here,watch,I come out with the line 'Ripped his hands out',I just think of a 4-syllable rhyme that correlates with that line but also foreshadows my end-punch, so if I insinuate his 'LIMBS' is my target,and I've ripped his Hands out,by logic his legs is the next right,so I just make a 4-syllable rhyme out of it to pass the msg ,"Off-To-The-Next".
Then with the following line 'Femur cracked up' , the 4-syllable rhyme comes easily as I feel 'cracked up' is also viewed as Laughing, then using the 4-syllable "Making-A-Jest" wouldn't be out of point,so I place it in there.
Then the next line states that I'm hurting him,of cus if someone is hurting you, you beg for your life ,now I just think of a 4-syllable that integrates that and here comes "Pleading-Or-Begs" ,I'm not still out of point. Before the "Pulling-your-legs" comes in,landing perfectly well.

I don't think a rhyming dictionary can provide all these detailed contents for me,but rather give rhymes that don't correlate with what I need,sure it might match the pre-rhymes but not the concept,and this ruins a good set-up to a punch.

Hope this helps in your quest of learning the ropes.

In all the tourney finals I've seen here on NL,Netcees who didn't win showed good sportsmanship and that was it no fuss at all,they just moved on cus they know its all for fun.
