natasha: I will tell you that jobs are hard to come by, so also is keeping a job. There isnt an easy job. Even oil/banking/political jobs have alot of stress attached to it. If you are complaining that you work in the rain and sun (yet you hv a guaranteed income montgly irrespectively of your target met) i am sorry to say this; you are LAZY. Very lazy and a typical epitome of the nigerian graduate who feels the world owes them the right to a xushy, well paying stress free job.
Do you know how many hours the kids who hawk water/buns etc put in daily even at the weekends all for a meagre 200# naira at the end od the day? In the rain, sun, cold, they endure daily hazards like people stealing their wares, sexual harrassments from all sorts, injuries from feckless drivers.
Let me give you examples of life in d uk, there are people who work odd jobs in freezing conditions (-4 degrees typical weather condition for my city) here and end up sleeping on a couch at the end of the night just so they can save up and send money to take care of their responsibilities back home as well as meet the demanda of extended family membera/relatives like you.
I would advise yoj to suck it up, man up, stop acting like a spoilt child and learn to be thankful that you have a job despite you little work experience instead of conplaining that they didnt give you a car. Do you think its cheap maintaining a car? You need to stop this attitude of self entitlement and change your mentality. For someone who has already earned 600k in 6 months and cant boast of a 5% savings na wa o. Afraid she is catching me (as sum1 i know wld say).

They are regulated by the same National Universities Commission, and they are part of ASUU. The strike is also their strike, just as a degree earned from a state university is equivalent to a degree earned in a federal university. You're therefore wrong in assuming that this is a battle between "FG" and "federal varsities", and that the breach of agreement will not impact on state owned universities. In Nigeria, we have ONLY ONE university system, whether the university is owned by the state or by the federal government. In electing to renege on an agreement it freely entered into with ASUU, it is the FG that should be held accountable, not the expectations of university lecturers, whether you consider them to be selfish or not!

franchizy: I ve said it over and over dat d only solution to dis Boko Haram menace is 4 GEJ to suspend the state of emergency, appologise to the Northern Elders forum, dialogue and grant Boko Haram Amnesty, rebuild all mosque. The military can't win d war cos 80% of Boko Haram are from d SS, SE and SW and are christians who are used to tannish d image of d North and kill our people but Allah will fight 4 d North and vindicate us.
Many of d Boko Haram sponsors are from d SS, SE and SW all in d name of Power but the North must complete there remaining 4yrs come 2015.

THE APC AS A MUSLIM PARTY? – By Femi Fani-Kayode

Those that say that APC is a muslim party and that are citing and passing around a long list of newly-appointed muslim interim officers as evidence of this are either being mischevous or are just plain ignorant. The APC has 37 interim national officers on its interim National Executive Comittee. 18 of those officers are muslims and 17 are christian.

Those that are publishing and spreading the all muslim list in the media and the social websites and networks should be advised to go and publish the full list of ALL the national officers of the APC and not just the list of muslim ones. This is merely a PDP ploy to sell a lie to the public and attempt to clothe it as truth and it shall not stand. The truth is that there are many more religious and ethnic bigots in the PDP and much more ignorance than there is in any other party in Nigeria.

It is the National Chairman of the PDP by the name of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and not that of the APC that recently described the islamist terrorist organisation called Boko Haram as ”freedom fighters”. It is the leader of the PDP by the name of President Goodluck Jonathan and not any APC leader that recently described Boko Haram as his ”siblings” whom he ”could not move against”. It is a leader of the PDP in the person of Governor Isa Yuguda who recently said that he knew the various factions in Boko Haram very well and that he knew what they could do and not do.

So if you are looking for those that know Boko Haram well, that secretly sympathise with them and that are inclined to treat them with kid gloves look to the PDP. If you are looking for those that are ready to dine with that terrorist organisation and that have slaughtered over 7000 Nigerians in the last two years look to the PDP and not the APC. Our PDP Federal Government has been soft on terriorism from day one and this has led to the burning down and bombing of hundreds of churches all over the north.

You tell me who has asssisted the Boko Haram terrorists more in their evil quest- the weakness and cowardice of the Jonathan administration and their inability to provide the Nigerian people with security and protection when faced with terror or the rhetoric of the leadership of the APC. The latter have spoken out against terror on many occassions whilst the former tremble before it and appease it as if they were bedmates, soul-mates and political associates.

Those that accuse the APC of being a party of islamic fundamentalists, islamists and terrorist sympathisers or a party for only muslims are completely wrong. This is nothing but PDP propaganda. I despise and abhor Boko Haram yet I am in APC. I am not a muslim but a practising and devout Pentecostal christian yet I am there and there are millions of other christians there too. We are all there. The APC belongs to all of us and not just the muslims. And neither can the PDP be described as the christian party because there is nothing that is wholesome, good or christian about it’s behaviour and performance in the last 5 years.

All this PDP propaganda has to stop and they should stop attempting to label others or to bring religion into politics.

oluface: Please me dear nairalanders my mother is running mad due to extreme poverty. I use to take care of her before i loose my job. Ever since i loss my job things has not been fine. She sell puff puff at lagos iSland but the market is not moving instead of her to gain ,she got into debt and she's still oweing LAPO MICROFINANCE BANK. She is a widow.
