AgricultureRe: Understanding The National Egg Production (NEGPRO) Scheme & How To Participate by MrKong: 4:28pm On Jul 04, 2016
Taofeeqbadmus:
They farmers would also have access to free credit in terms of inputs such as DOC, Feeds and Drugs for a period of 6 months which can be as high as 1.5million from the state entrepreneur, it would also assure them(farmers) that during glut where eggs are destroyed and sold for lesser prices that can sell at a profitable price, they would have a guaranteed market and price all year round
You don't understand...there is nothing free here, yes they give you credit in form of inputs but they take far more in returns than they should have. To me, it's slavery.

A bank loan is better IMO, atleast banks don't take more than the interest
AgricultureRe: Understanding The National Egg Production (NEGPRO) Scheme & How To Participate by MrKong: 3:52pm On Jul 04, 2016
tbaba1234:
Everyone benefits, farmers get credit and a constant market for their eggs.

Entrepreneurs make decent profits

I agree that they should not fix price and allow the market determine the price.
This scheme is systematically designed that the entrepreneurs take everything and all...and what about startup farmers?

Imagine, I provide the land, structure, pen, water, feeder and drinker, labour, time and the expertise ...only for some peeps to come strolling every now and then to take everything and toss me scraps.

Unless we share the profit 60:40 me to them(usual standard for investors)...thanks but no thanks sad

This scheme isn't helping anyone except the ones who invented it
AgricultureRe: Understanding The National Egg Production (NEGPRO) Scheme & How To Participate by MrKong: 3:37pm On Jul 04, 2016
How many farmers can afford to set up a 2000 capacity in this present economy(land, structure, cage, water and all)...this scheme is flawed joor
AgricultureRe: Understanding The National Egg Production (NEGPRO) Scheme & How To Participate by MrKong:
If I understand correctly...eligible farmers erect a 2000 capacity structures, pen, drinkers, create water source and manage the birds but the entrepreneur/stakeholder provide the birds and feed. The eggs (and spent layers if you reason well) belong to to the entrepreneur/stakeholder/NEGPRO who will decide how much I get for my troubles? undecided

I thought Nigeria abolished slavery long time ago? sad

Some vets can be very funny, cough kwa? grin cheesy

So he gave them cholera vaccine for having cough grin hmmm God dey sha cheesy

Anyways, first you have to tell us the physical signs in your pen:

1) Nature of their droppings
2) Productivity and feed intake
3) Do they cold-out with their head dropping to the floor?
4) Your Vaccination procedure
5) Nature of their eggs
6) And drugs you've administered before and after the issue came

Then, I can tell you what to do....but for now, go get a strong anti-viral drug and add vitalyt...that should stem the mortality for now
Do not deworm or vaccinate sick birds

AgricultureRe: Green House Farming: Curbing Tuta Absoluta. The Tomato Headache. by MrKong: 9:07pm On Jun 28, 2016
About this nethouse, I don't think it will be much of a solution...there are several spores of disease causing fungus in the air that can pass though the net...maybe you should just cover the whole damn thing with a transparent nylon except the topmost which you can cover with a white trampoline

Whichever way, it's still a learning curve....I'm curiously waiting for the outcome, and I'm hoping it works! smiley

The man looks like an achiever to me but let's get something straight, he's not moving to the government house anytime soon. There should be appeal and counter appeal by both parties till no one can appeal no more.

kishimi8:
See wahala he said he wants cheap land I offer him cheap land. Did I open a thread to advertise. I know he can't afford I was just having fun.
However a million per hectare is not even at exotic levels yet. I've seen crazy prices
Oh really?...maybe you should look for a more lesser one like 24mil own, that shouldn't be a problem for any startup farmer especially the ones with less than 100k
