Jayvallia:Hey..... I honestly don't believe the rep is in any position to say that to you. I'd try and talk to the school directly if you can. Yes, denial based on credibility ll make is harder for you to secure a visa (not impossible) compared to others. I'd think that all you gotta do is show that you are a genuine student and find the refusal letter from the previous application. Find out the reasons they gave for the refusal and also find out if they suggested other documents you could have added to show that you was a genuine student. Should you find these, then you could add them in the current application and hope fore the best. The rep is just a rep for Coventry Uni, he/she is not the home office so for he/she to say "forget UK and try another country" is arrogant and wrong IMO. Good luck... |
STENON:If you have 100% checked and made sure you are allowed to do teaching then absolutely why not... Another thing to consider is, if you are gonna be teaching via an agency, most agencies (not all) I know would employ you on a self employment basis. Make sure you don't sign up for one of those. You are absolutely correct, physics are maths teachers are on high demand in schools and if their is one job you could retain after your masters to enable you get your residency, it's that job. Finally, this is the site where I saw the prohibited jobs for tiar 4 students (https://www.bath.ac.uk/corporate-information/work-you-are-allowed-to-do-on-your-full-time-tier-4-visa/) it's at the very bottom of the list so you can easily miss it. I hope it all works out well for you bro, peace... |
STENON:Hey, your people aren't wrong per se.. I'd be very careful taking a teaching job cos just before I started typing this reply, I was researching on prohibited jobs for tier 4 students. I have to tell you, teaching did come up as one of the prohibited ones. If I was you, I'd go into Google and search "jobs you can and canNOT do on a tier 4 visa. On a good note, teaching is a very good job here and if you are allowed to take up teaching, securing a teaching job should not be too much of a problem as long as you pass the Professional Skills test, which is usually in literacy and numerical form. Good luck.... |
danny4sure: Got my Visa delivered @ home todaycongrats...... |
spikes C: Mrkossy's issue is more of the cost.well that's alright.. |
justwise: Why are you complaining because the UK govt wants people coming into their country to get checked up for diseases like TB which is problem in Nigeria? Canada started it years before the UK and the same case with Australia. South Africa ask for yellow fever certificate and its not free, they are trying to protect their own people and foreigners leaving in their country, so why are you complaining? If that's what you honestly believe then that's alright.. |
justwise: Stand up to Nigerian govt first before moaning about the UK govt, stand up for endemic corruption in Nigeria, you can't even stand up to your local MP let alone ranting about TB certificate. Did you stand up for fuel subsidy and what was the outcome? You don't have to study in the UK, why did you not invest that money in some of Nigerian universities?oga if you honestly believe what you are saying then you will believe anything. UK govt is nothing compared with Nigerians no doubt but that does not mean that if something is not right i lk agree with it cos they ve got good govt. Its bad enough to ask students to go for a Tb test as if that's not enough they ask them to pay 20000 naira for a Tb test. Something you and i know its very wrong! I wonder why they never ask them to submit a HIV test result even when they know that its very common in nija. Nigerian govt is bad yes i know that and so what? |
wilzz26: £3K was suspended since and its because we stood aginst it. Fine they are free to have health protection rules but i dont surport going to a uk desgnated place in my contry to pay more than what it should cost. That is what am aginst.i get what i eat from UK. Through out my study i worked in Uk and funded my self matter of fact more than half of my life has been in the UK. Am not biting the hand that id feeding me and am not going to agree with stupid rules they bring up simple because i don't want to be sentimental. Nobody should agree with that but that's how i see it and as we all know everyone is entitled to their own mind. |
justwise: Some of you are good at making things up, was this targeted at Nigerians alone?regardless of what anyone thinks. The fact remains we can drag it all we want. That's the reason why its like that at the first place because most of us are full of bullshits and prefer kissing the back side instead of standing up. |
wilzz26: That as it may be. Its worth thinking but at the same time i know of students that schooled in Germany' and they are far competitive interms of out put and they both speak german and english language and can tell you they are verry good enginers today. The problem with we Nigerians is that we don't want to tell our selves the truth. Despite the fact that deep down inside we know the truth, but most of what we say is crap. We open our arms and welcome anything said to us weather good or bad. Meanwhile without international students most of the unis here will close down. Its simple, this is just a way of exploiting and frustrating Nigerian students simple because they don't want them here. People can go on and paint it any way they want, try to make it sound better all they want at the end of the day the point remains that vast population or not hiv or not the whole thing is pure bullshit. That was how they placed a £3k embargo on first time visitors and nothing was done about it. |
miz Gene: Loool@ ur phone, don't worry though, I hv seen it now, but it's on d UKEAS site alone not on d home office . I love UKEAS but I think dy may hv just messed up. I will tk dt info with a pinch of salt for now until proven otherwise..Yea... like i said if you applied through an agent i think they will be in a position to know better |
miz Gene: Still can't find us der! Do a snapshot n show us pls.sorry cant really di a snap shot cos am using a windows phone. (i know this is out of line but for the record windows phone is pure crap. And windows 8 is useless too) what i will do i ll copy what i saw and i will paste it so you ll see. |
wilzz26: ] i am also yer to seeNigeria on that list oo. Nigeria is not a tb prevalence contry and i know for sure that if all tier 4 applicants are tested it will be verry difficult to get 1 out of 100 with tuberculosis. This is another scam on Nigerians by the british goverment. Two yers ago it was english language test now for us whoes first and official language is english and to top it all a British colony. If Jamaica could be exempted from english languge test i wonder why Nigeria should be on that list. If they were to be sincere with them selfs is Nigeria rated by the WHO as a tb nation? And why do i have to get tested and pay in their own specified organization? Too many questions begging for answers. The british government is takng us for a ride. 22K plus visa fee of 80k plus meaning its a 122k t there about for student visa application and still didnt mention the pearson test of english language fee of 30k plus. So a total of 150k plus is needed to make a tier 4 application. The British government is in no way bettter than the Nigerian goverment in terms of making life difficult for people. Didn't tbey realize that we tier 4 students contribute to their economy due to educational tourisim. Things has really got to change as we can not continue to be exploited like this.if you remember that was how they came up with yellow fever card until WHO declared Nigeria a yellow fever free country now they ve come up with Tb bullshit again. |

honestly i don't know anything about the tb thing but the fact is i wont put it pass the UKBA cos they ve always wanted a way to frustrate Nija students. But i think the best thing is to contact your agent that's if you applied through ab agent i am thinking he/she will know better. |

Things has really got to change as we can not continue to be exploited like this.Yea Nigeria is not on the list but then its right on the first paragraph before you even get to the list. I understand your frustration matter of fact we all are but the bottom line is, if they say you should do it just do it they just want to make it very difficult for Nigerian students for a reason only them knows. But i will advise you to do it cos if you went through all the stress of paying the school fees, living some in your account, visa fees and even ready to buy a ticket that mean you are determined to study and plz don't let the 22k ruin all that for you. Just do it and it will catch up with them one day. |
miz Gene: I hv gone thru d home office page from the link, I can't find Nija on that tb certificate list, do I need glasses or something?if you follow the first link posted by @Guyze the first paragraph says "students from Nigeria are now required to provide a tb screening certificate as part of their visa requirements" if you double check am sure you will see it. |
Guzye: Please while filling the online visa form on the new UKBA website, these two questions are confusing me :- Please does anyone know how best to answer it?Re to the remaining fees, that includes your school fees, accommodation. I.e if you paid half of your tuition then the other half is a part of the remaining fees so goes for accommodation as well. Re to the original documents supplied, it is your bank statement showing the money you ve held in your account for 28days. |
spikes C: Ok, i dnt need to be physically in d UK to know this is a bunch of overated bullshiiit. Also tell her that the world will be hers when she gets there. no disrespect man but i think you ll be better off if you do more reading than talking cos clearly you never read what i wrote or maybe you did and just didn't understand it. if you ll take one more look at what i wrote am sure i wrote something like "Re you bank cards, they will work perfectly okay in the cash machines as long as your bank in Nigeria will provide excellent service" does the phrase 'As long as' ring any bell? probably not. it doesn't mean her card wont work, its just a way to tell her that she needs more cash more than she needs her card cos the card might not be available all the time. but you couldn't read between the lines could you? Then you went on to ask "which card do not fail"? "cos its Nigerian"? so for some reason you think i said it cos its Nigeria? if you honestly think so then my bro you need to grow up! Re to the food stuffs, i honestly hope you do know what you are saying for her sake. |
bunburized: I understand there are shops in Manchester that will sell african foodstuffs but at what extra cost.Alright listen up i will state the obvious for you now and you will understand it once you get over to UK. Re you bank cards, they will work perfectly okay in the cash machines as long as your bank in Nigeria will provide excellent service. The first issue i had in the UK when i first got here was with my Nigerian master card, it wont complete my transaction after i finished shopping in a shopping mall and trust me you don't wanna go through that moreover the charges it will attract will be extremely high because you will be forced to pay some bills with your card even in shops. talk about foodstuffs.. Seriously you could get screwed at the airport. Might not be in Nigeria but in UK. They don't take most food stuffs especially ones from Africa lightly. Matter of fact you might even end up paying a fine for it. If there is one thing you need here it Money!! Not food stuffs |
bunburized: I will go with a maximum of £3000. Any need declaring this?no need declaring £3k. Take the same bank statement you submitted your application with. Put it in your bag and don't give it unless they ask. |
bunburized: I am in the final stage of preparation to start my masters program. I want to know if there is need for concern at the point of entry.take your bank statement, you may or may not need it. If you will be taking more that £5k do not fail to declear it on Nigeria airport before leaving other wise you may stand a chance of loosing it on arrival. |
tdayof: is schooling in Canada cheaper than UK?Frankly i dunno nothing about Canada, i only know about UK where i studied. Re to my personal contact, well we talk here and its important that others read past and current posts so to guide them as well. |
tdayof: BT can u touch d money after d 28 daysNO you cant until your visa is out. During the application process the home office will check with your bank to confirm the fund. |
tdayof: when they ask for d statement of account must it b d £7200 DAT must b dia or itz compulsory for d fee to b dia too for 28 daysyes it is a must that you will have the £7200 + the remaining fees in your account for the 28 days. |
sean622: pls I will like to know the general requirements for visa application, and also to know if the required maintenance fund is 7200 or £9000 since £9000 was written on my admission lettergeneral visa requirements differs..... So goes fir the maintenance fund too, it depends on where your uni is. If it is in inner London then you need £9000 + whatever is remaining on your school fees but if its in outer london then you need £7200+ the reminder of your school fees too. So check and see if your school is outer or inner London. If not, then write the name of your school and we ll help check it out for you. |
Guzye: Guys please I was rejected an American visa in 2004 or so and I don't remember the reason cos I was a minor then... Please how do I fill my form when I get to this stage?depending on how long it has been since you were refused an American visa. I am pretty sure that on the current form you want to fill that the question will clearly specify that if you have been refused visa to any country in the last 5 or 10 years tick yea or no so with that you ll know what your answer will be. |
tdayof: what are the least requirement needed by a Nigerian student to study in the ukwhen you say least requirement, i assume you mean education qualification(s) so with that, the least requirement is your WAEC. Bad thing is you cant get a degree admission with that alone, but you will be able to get into a foundation course with that then you can go on to get into a degree course if you pass the foundation. I hope that helps. |
ochukoccna: Hope you will be able to rehash your 'survive in any condition weather hood or bad' line after 2 straight weeks on strictly British cuisineonly if you know where i live, you wouldn't be saying that. |
tdayof: do u study abroad?Don't worry bout the white food as you will be able to put up with any shit! You are a Nigerian and what we do is survive in any condition weather hood or bad. We live against all odds, personally i don't think you should worry about the food just get your entry clearance first. Re to the school fees you will have to check with the school as school fees differs |
ochukoccna: I'm not mistaking you for bunburizedwhatever the logic is i clearly don't understand. But that's all good. |
ochukoccna: Most likely, it will be deducted from your tutioni think you are clearly mistaking me with someone else if you read very well you will see that i was just replying someone that says he wont spend one extra day in UK. |
