Lol Funny you...
What stops me from putting a mini duplex I bought or 45m for rent like the one I posted yesterday?
Is that not a commercial property?
Or commercial property must be block of flats to you? undecided
Check the CofO on the property, what purpose is written on it? Residential or Commercial?
PoliticsRe: More Trouble For Obaseki As Loyalists Plot To Abandon Governor by MrMcJay(m): 2:12pm On May 30, 2020
Those who would ruin Obaseki are his loyalists working secretly with Oshiomole. They are the ones giving him terrible advice that would ruin him and because he lacks wisdom and the spirit of discernment, he is following their wrong counsel.

Every King has an Ahitophel. It is wisdom that makes him avoid the counsel of Ahitophels.
Science/TechnologyRe: Seeking Person(s) With Experience In Fintech by MrMcJay(m): 2:09am On May 27, 2020
I doubt if anyone would take you seriously on here. What you are demanding for requires industry expertise which can't be gotten for free or mere pittance online. If everyone had the knowledge, everyone would be in it.

Anyway, I have been involved in legal and compliance for several fintechs and what I can tell you for free is that there are several ways the loan companies operate. Some operate using a Money Lender's License and some go ahead to purchase MFB Licenses.

Money Lender's Licenses can be gotten officially below 100k and unofficially below 250k. They are issued by the Magistrate courts. MFB Licenses would cost you Millions to purchase a weak MFB and then recapitalize and change the board. Approvals come from the CBN.

The fintech space is becoming increasingly regulated but it's very very profitable.

Haba Oga you pass this kin beer jist
The one and only, bro.

As for my previous post, everything I posted are verifiable facts.

WHO said face masks don't stop Coronavirus infections.
https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/07/face-masks-cannot-stop-healthy-people-getting-covid-19-says-who

WHO refused to declare Coronavirus a pandemic.
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2235342-covid-19-why-wont-the-who-officially-declare-a-coronavirus-pandemic/

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/01/22/who-postpones-decision-declaring-china-coronavirus-a-global-health-emergency.html

The WHO messed up big time and it is as a result of failure of leadership. The Head of the WHO isn't even a Doctor.

The World Health Organisation has become a huge joke.
The same WHO who said face masks don't prevent human to human transmission.
The same WHO that refused to declare Coronavirus a pandemic.
PoliticsRe: Why Abike Dabiri Attacked Pantami, Communications Minister by MrMcJay(m): 6:40pm On May 25, 2020
This is what happens when your loyalty is to certain interests and not to your country.

Pantami thinks he's in Gombe where he can do as he likes. Well, he can actually do as he likes cos the level of indiscipline in this administration is legendary.
AgricultureRe: Letsfarm Agro-investment by MrMcJay(m): 2:46am On May 25, 2020
Letsfarms increase of the duration of the investment cycle from 7 months to 9 months was a big mistake on their part. Sell a few today, sell half dozen tomorrow. Is that business?

If they try it just 3 times, they would be gasping for breath as they won't get bulk cash to run the farm operations.
PoliticsRe: Obaseki Runs To Tinubu Ahead Of Edo Governorship Primaries - Dailytimes by MrMcJay(m): 8:03pm On May 23, 2020
ogbonti:
APC stand to lose more because if Obaseki runs as KOWA party candidate - he will defeat APC Ize-Iyamu and then he will re-join APC as the sitting governor to spite Oshiomole - making it bold and clear he won because he is Obaseki and not because of APC. He will gain much respect that way!!!

na today we bigin see "carpet crossing" in Nigerian politics?

Anyways - looking at this from another angle ..... I see history repeating itself

Some of you guys fail to look back to the Femi Agbalajobi vs. Dapo Sarumi fight for the SDP ticket in Lagos (1991) Gubernatorial elections

Lagos was an SDP state - but when these 2 guys made the primary process so dirty - Sir Michael Otedola of the NRC became a safer choice for Lagosians. Not even the 11th hour presentation of Prince Yomi Edu could save the SDP in Lagos. My thing is Obaseki should let the system play out - Never panic - IF Osho wants to give the ticket to POI - let him do it, but have a backup plan to run on another platform - Always have a plan B so you don't disqualify yourself by not having the option to run with another party and the time to register ran out - this OPTION must be done ASAP!!!

The way Osho is running this fight with Obaseki is not even because he wants APC to win in Edo. Osho will feel vindicated and victorious is Obaseki loses to to anyone - as long as He (Obaseki) is defeated.Maybe he is planning the SARUMI vs AGBALAJOBI mayhem in Edo - so that when the primary becomes too dirty - the people will then vote for any donkey or riff raff presented by the PDP (who may be secretly sponsored by Osho too OR some invisible potential god father) THIS IS WHY OBASEKI SHOULD LET OSHO DO WHATEVER HE LIKES - IF POI WINS THE PRIMARIES- OBASEKI SHOULD IMMEDIATELY SWITCH TO ANOTHER PARTY AND LET US SEE HOW POI WILL WIN - HE HAS ENOUGH BAGGAGE OF CORRUPTION AND ABUSE OF POWER FROM HIS INVOLVEMENT IN LUCKY IGBINEDION ADMINISTRATION TO NAIL HIM -

YOU DO NOT NEED PARTY TO WIN AN ELECTION WHEN YOU ARE POPULAR - GO ASK OGBORU IN DELTA STATE - HE COULDN'T WIN EVEN AS THE APC PARTY FLAG BEARER - OBASEKI IS POPULAR IN EDO STATE - HE HAS NAME RECOGNITION - APC NEEDS HIM MORE THAN HE NEEDS APC!!!
This is exactly what Okorocha and Amosun did that made them politically castrated. Let Obaseki take your advice and join them. At least, he would be a scapegoat to others.

I know someone who lost his plum job in a bank because of what he posted here on Nairaland.

If only you guys know how many people have lost their jobs (and some their lives) due to what they posted online, we would be more circumspect about what we post online.

The Internet is like fire. It can cook your meals for you to eat and it can also burn and destroy everything you have.

Or are you bereft of apt diction?

Even the Supreme Court despite having 21 Justices invites some senior advocates, professors and Attorney Generals to address them in certain cases. These people are called amici curiae.

One needs clarity of expression and that is a product of clarity of reasoning.
This kind of post is beneath you, you don't need it. Pass your message across without insults just like how he did.

Tinubu's relative has something like that. Primero Transport it plies from Ikorodu to Mile 12, Maryland, Fadeyi, Costain and TBS. The company has about 400 buses in its fleet.

Another company can have the license from Sango Otta to Iyana Ipaja, Oshodi route.

Badagry to Mile 2 is another route.

When the operators are corporate citizens with eminent Nigerians as the shareholders, who pay taxes and license fees to government, touts and miscreants wouldn't be able to make unnecessary financial demands from them
When Fashola was Governor, there was a day he went to commission a project and was accosted by touts that he should dash them money. Fashola required for their tax clearance to show proof they pay tax before he gives them anything. They grumbled and left.

Subsequently, Fashola gathered those touts together and established what is called "Waste Police" under Lawma. They were charged with arresting those who dispose waste in indiscriminate places. Anyone who they found refuse in areas under his supervision would be dismissed. Do you know that those touts were staying awake at night preventing people from throwing refuse so as not to be sacked

When they asked Fashola about getting motorised street sweepers, he said that it's not just about waste removal but empowering those elderly women.

So, there are a lot of political consequences of such a decision as this. Visionscape was brought on board to try something similar but it failed due to a lot of factors with vested interests, politics and political patronage being the most prominent.

Politics is no. 1 in Lagos, every other thing follows. Its unfortunate.

Trade Union should be optional. Who regulates and audits the various bodies in the transportation sectors

Government needs to remove all the bottle necks in this sector so that the sector can attract necessary funding and also make it attractive for corporate Nigeria to come into the sector.

Different business will bid for major routes, have a minimum of 500 buses in your fleet, must be a limited liability company, no union or anybody will harrass the buses of the company, they will pay taxes to government and also pay an annual route license renewal fees of about N100 million or above
There is something similar to this on the Island. I mean from Obalende to Epe. It is a private company handling commercial transportation on that route and all passenger buses must register. There are no touts at the several bus stops from Obalende up to Ajah. Even at Ajah, the touts there are those from the Oshodi unit loading buses going to Oshodi.

The unions control the boys who we see as thugs but the government sees as party stalwarts. I heard of an agbero who a job for a Medical doctor with Lagos state.

Transportation in Lagos is more political than economic. That's why Obasanjo came to campaign in Lagos in 2003 but his supporters couldn't get vehicles to attend the rally. Commercial vehicles 'mysteriously' didn't work that day. grin

I hardly join you guys in Naija versus Abroad arguments even though most people know I am pro Naija.

With good transport system, I don't need to go out in my car every day. Why should I spent 4 hours in Lagos traffic using my own, when I can get to my destination in less than one hour using public transport.

When I was young car were allowed to go to the island based on even and odd numbers in order to control the volumes of vehicles coming to the island.

Later Lagosians started buying 2 cars one with odd number and the other with even number.

Odd numbers can go out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Even numbers can go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Lawyers destroyed this arrangement.
Several lawsuits were filed that the policy was discriminatory and a breach of fundamental human right to movement.

emmanuelewumi:
Maybe if Lagos State government should introduce tax of about N5000 per vehicle per day, for any vehicle that comes into Lagos island, Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki maybe it will reduce the volume of traffic in the area.

People will then embrace public transportation when going to such places. After all our politicians make use of public transportation when they are out of the country

MOST Nigerians depend on remittances for survival? Are you speaking from personal experience or you just want to talk?
Did you even read the link you posted?

Remittances have been steady and rising slowly for over a decade but. They are still a small fraction of FX inflows.

Remittances have increased but it's still a small piece of the pie.

Nothing is happening there? I have some property interests in Idasho Town. That is the community directly opposite Dangote gate. I suggest that you take a trip to that area and see things for yourself.

While you are inside your house hiding from Coronavirus, work is currently going on in the refinery and other Dangote projects in that area.
InvestmentRe: Why I Dont Believe The Hype On Real Estate Investment. by MrMcJay(m): 5:26am On May 16, 2020
You are talking about property rentals alone. That is merely a part of real estate and not the whole thing. There are many ways to make serious money from real estate. The most prominent ones are buying land and flipping as well as building houses and selling them for profit.

There are those who buy acres in locations where the government wants to build roads and they divide the land into plots and sell. There are those who buy land in areas with good amenities, build duplexes on them and sell for a handsome profit. There are those who provide certain services and get valuable land in return. Real Estate is much more than building houses for rentals.

However, I agree with you that anyone with a thriving business doesn't need to dip his hand into his capital and go pour it in building a house for rent.
