The 3rd Commandment Thou Shall Think Outside the Box Get creative and think outside the box. Create opportunities instead of waiting for one to drop on your head. Whatever you learn from others, keep in mind you are not the only one who has access to the information; always be in critical-mode looking for loopholes and how you can do things differently. |
The 2nd Commandment Thou Shall Have a Mentor Do not ever think that you can work alone. You may be good in a certain area. However, you would need to work with others to record more effective results or sustain your success. Find a reputable mentor. You do not have to know that person personally. A business relationship is alright. Ensure that the person knows his onions and is not just a “buttered-up” con- man yapping about being the best thing to happen since sliced bread. Don’t waste money on hyped products. Connect with people who are where you want to be and who are really available to answer your questions. It’s okay to buy a few good books or other resources related to your niche. Don’t believe in every claim that a product is going to change your life or that you don’t have to do anything to be making money. There is plenty of free information on the Internet and legitimate products but they are often hidden among the hype. Pay attention to what people are talking in the forums and you will get better ideas. Another tip is that if you intend to join an online business opportunity don’t be afraid to ask your potential sponsor questions. Most importantly, you want to know that they are available and willing to help you if necessary. Its always tempting to join under the creator of the product, after all they created the product or business! But if you send emails or make contact with them and don’t get a reply (or replies from their assistant) then you have to question if you are really joining under somebody who will help you in your new business. |
I said I was going to state the online code that I lived by. They are known as the 12 Online Commandments. I will post 1 each day for the next 12 days. It is important that we discuss each at length to highlight their importance. Here goes... The 1st Commandment Thou Shall Have a Plan You need a plan. Never think of running aimlessly or blindly with any Internet venture. It would not work. Set realistic goals in whatever you want to achieve. Do not expect to make 2 million in your 1st month. Do not expect to make money by doing nothing. Have the courage to take action and remind yourself why you should every time. “This is online marketing and not a brick-and-mortar or real business.” Many people come online with this attitude. These people just wake up one day and decide they want to make money online. I’ve had my share of internet marketing failures too, due to lack of proper planning. If you want to make a success of yourself online, a proper Business Plan is a must. It can be most simple, written on a notepad or even on a piece of paper – but it’s essential for your success. Your plan should answer these questions: What is your niche (target market) you’re targeting? What product or service are you offering? What is your marketing strategy? Do you have a USP (Unique Selling Proposition)? In what way are you going to differentiate yourself from the competition? What is your income goal? Set realistic goals. What is your overall budget? You should spend the maximum time researching and planning, before going ahead and marketing your wares. Read, read and read some more. Learn from the more experienced internet marketing experts and you will have all the answers. First, get your attitude right. Think of internet marketing as your regular business. Over a period of time you should also be looking at seeing how you can improve your plan. Correcting this one mistake can greatly increase your chances of internet marketing success. |
thanks @murdah, i've seen the affiliate link he promoting and trying to get tips from here to update his threadHe does not even believe in what he is promoting. How can he convince others? Stealing information from one person to promote something else, where is the relation? We are both trying to sell 2 different things. |
@ naijamaverick.... I see you are just taking what I say here and using to promote your fastecash link. Dudes like you give the business I am in a bad name. I tell ya! |
@ thedon.....just head to fiverr and see what type of services are selling and align yourself with the one that suits you. Add a unique twist to make yours different or stand out. with regards to the 12 online commandments, I will have to start a new thread for that one. We need to stick the the Fiverr script here. Cheers. |
Make Call to Action Offers Fiverr can be a very competitive place. So you need to be smart about how you offer your gigs. So offer bonuses like “buy 2 and get one free”. Tell people you just celebrated your birthday and would soon revert back to your former gig. Once it is a limited offer expect the orders to trickle in. You can even tell people that you would give them a free gig if they can send 5 free referrals your way. |
I wonder for how long we will need to deny the fact that there are honest and hardworking Nigerians. You are obviously trying to masquerade as an American. In my opinion, once you have quality gigs, competence and awesome service delivery on Fiverr, people will line up to patronize you. Stop bogging yourself down with geographical locations when you should be concentrating more on creating and delivering quality work. What you should also know is that you are building a brand. I am building a brand for my work and business. I will dump Fiverr someday. And move on to bigger and brighter things. What would speak for me? My track record. My working CV. How is that going to work if i am lying about who I am and where I live? Ewen Chia, Marlon Sanders, Joe Okoro... Akin Alabi....Ikenna Nzimora..These dudes started from somewhere. Their humble beginnings soon snowballed into online empires. For every dint of hard work you put in, let it be something you can use as a reference point towards taking a bigger leap into the future. Think of the future...see the big picture...bro. Stop trying to set up a crap-shoot business and build a business brand. |
@ deasy...you will need to rephrase cannot make heads or tails about what you are referring to thanks. |
It is clear in Fiverr's Terms of Services that Sellers should not own more than one account. You stand the chance of losing your money. And sabotaging the chances of nigerians making money on this site. Once these guys see a recurring decimal of bad eggs from a particular region, they will ban us. You are entitled to 20 gigs in one account. You can sell 4 gig extras for each of these 20 gigs when you make level 1 which is 10 sales in 30 days. That is 80 different ways to make money on Fiverr! In my opinion, there is really no need to open multiple accounts especially when it is illegal. I would advise you to take a chill pill and do business like it is supposed to be done. |
Delln...you are so right. I actually have a code that i live by known as the 12 online commandments. Maybe i would start a post about that too. @ eedrizy...thanks for the thumbs up. |
@ suwailad. There is no way Fiverr will freeze your account without a person running foul of their TOS. Most of us hardly read them. We just jump in. I know we are not meant to exchange contact details, open more than one account or use the Fiverr logo or trademarks for commercial purposes. And that's just for starters. Your buddy did something wrong. He probably did not know it was wrong. |
@ deasy It is best that you send them the book instead of an affiliate link. People are willing to pay for valuable information. They value and respect people that offer them a solution. If you send them an affiliate link, you are saying " I am just trying to make money off you". When you purchase a PLR or resale product you can rewrite it and place relevant affiliate links to Clickbank products inside it. That works! |
@ deasy. Question 1 Setting up gig extras, is all about offering more value for more money. You might need to refer to my post about gig extras. Question 2 If you want to sell other people's products without violating any agreements, I would suggest that you stick to resale rights or PLR products. And even at that you need to be creative with them because they are being sold by other people besides you. Hope that answers your questions? |
Be the Outsourcer If you want to make money online, selling services is one of the best ways to go. The good thing about the Internet is that there are many places that you can get people to work for you for a price. You do not have to know everything. So you can get bid for jobs in more expensive marketplaces and run over to Fiverr and get it done. You do not have to lift a finger to do anything. Ensure that the Fiverr seller comes highly recommended so that you are not disappointed in the end. Places you can source for work www.elance.com www.odesk.com www.freelancer.com www.guru.com |
Promote Other Online Businesses I read an interview recently about the Israeli owners of Fiverr. And one of the reasons they claimed they invented this awesome marketplace was to give online entrepreneurs a chance to grow their businesses or increase their profits spending too much. You would be amazed at the stuff that you can get done on Fiverr for small cash. You can promote your Clickbank products, PPC programs, use people’s mailing lists, send messages to their twitter followers and more. Do you know that there are people that would mention your URL on their radio program in the UK, US Canada? Do you know there are people willing to distribute flyers of your business in Universities and malls across the world? Remember that one of the best ways to make money online is to sell a credible product or service An online business grants you a window to the world. Diversify your online interests. Let Fiverr give you a hand. You will not regret it. |
No questions people? ok o |
Hi guys. First thing is to demystify that notion that when it comes to making it online, you can be picking your teeth and money will be coming your way. Most people are hoodwinked into thinking that there is no SERIOUS work involved in an online business and so they give up easily before they even take-off or cannot come up with a proper plan because they were unprepared in the first place. One way you can increase your Fiverr earnings is with gig extras. The name Fiverr is misleading. People think $5 is all that they can earn. $5 is the first amount of money that you are entitled to earn. If you make 10 sales in your first 30 days, you can sell stuff for a maximum of $20 (level 1). If you make 50 sales in your next 60 days, you can sell stuff for a maximum of $40 (level 2). If you are manually picked by the Fiverr ogas and hit Top rated status you can charge a maximum of $100 for an extra! With level 1, you can offer 4 gig extras at $20 each. What this means is that you can earn $80 with each full gig. Level 2 sellers can offer 4 gig extras for $40 what this means is that you can make over $160 from one gig. Top rated sellers can make over $400 from just one whole gig! But it is best to diversify and make your gig attractive, so spread your charges to increase patronage. So make room for the guy who has $5, $10, $20, $40 and $100 I know people's eyes would start to pop out with these figures and they would be less concerned about the type of gigs and extras that they should set up. But you lose if you treat the QUALITY and UNIQUENESS of your gigs lightly. The catch here is to offer more value in your gig extras. And strategically link them with one another, meaning a gig should be made better with an extra. For instance, if you want to shoot a product testimonial video for $5, you can put up a gig extra saying you would use promote it on your blog for an extra $10 for 7 days. You can sell another extra and say you would write a press release and submit it to the 10 major PR sites for an extra $20 More value more money...that is the selling point of every gig extra! Get it? Questions? |
Nice to see some encouraging posts. Class starts tomorrow. Hahahaha. Stay tuned. There are over 2 million gigs on fiverr. It is best that you find unique and creative gigs that you can sell. If anyone tells you what to sell be rest assured he has told at least 20 other people. You might make money for awhile before everyone and their village head starts doing the same. What then? If you want to make money on fiverr you need to come up with stuff that have little competition or uncover hot niches where demand is high and there is enough jobs to go around. |
There has been so much talk about Fiverr. However, the truth remains that the site offers one of the easiest ways to make money online. You can withdraw without hassles through a Payoneer ATM card or via PayPal. Unfortunately, it is not everyone that has a good thing to say about Fiverr. Most critics of this site say that the cash is crap and not worth their time, it is just $5 (make that $4 if you remove Fiverr’s 20% commission). If we generously convert $1 to 160 naira, we still end up with 640 naira. You cannot even get yourself a 1,000 recharge card with that amount of money! So you cannot make serious money on Fiverr right? Wrong. There are people making a full-time income from Fiverr and I am talking about people living in America, UK, Canada and other developed countries. These are not people who benefit from the high exchange rates of their local currencies to the dollar and can live on $400 a month like we do in Nigeria. They make $1,000’s a month because they have found clever ways to shoot up their earnings. I would share some of mine starting from tomorrow. I hope it will be of help to anyone looking to increase their earnings on Fiverr or who are just looking for legitimate ways to make money online. Cheers! |
Hi, Please does anyone know the airtime rates (30 minutes) for Africa Magic? Thanks! |
It's amazing to see people expecting to make serious cash online without thinking creatively or working smart. Fiverr is a goldmine for those who know it's worth. I know 2 people who have bought houses with their fiverr earnings. When it comes to making money online, traffic is an issue. Your work is made easy on fiverr because they provide you with traffic. All you have to do is task yourself and find hot services to sell. Promote on your own. Ensure you overdeliver all the time. Strategically sell gig extras. Offer awesome customer support so that your customers keep coming back. Sell bulk orders. Outsource. Anybody who thinks fiverr is a waste of time is on a long ting. |
I make money on Fiverr. I also maintain a blog and so some affiliate marketing as well. Nutin sweeter than working for yourself people. |

She is a dumb-ass nitwit. With a forehead that can eclipse the sun. She worked in Wazobia fm before moving to Nigeriainfo. She feels she is better with her peers in Wazobia fm because she feels she has "stepped up". When Chuks from STV joined Nigeria info...she was consistently offish and rude to him on air. Chuks always took on the chin and eventually she was called to order during one of the in-house meetings on a fateful friday. She uses words on air without confirming the pronunciation. She uses them out of context. She chooses her friends, feels she belongs to the hip class. What a wuss' |
@ attah. You have not opened an account, so you are not exactly familiar with the features of Fiverr. These are basics and simple things that you can do once you open you account. Methinks explaining how to send your books might end up confusing you even more. When you open your account, shoot me a mail. I will help you out. |
Attachment of earnings. |
No questions. I must be a very good teacher. |
Hi Guys. There has been so much talk about Fiverr. However, the truth remains that the site offers one of the easiest ways to make money online and does not discriminate against Nigerians. And with the new Payoneer card you can forget about the hassles of PayPal and withdraw your money in a few days from any MasterCard ATM machine. I agree! So you cannot make serious money on Fiverr right? Wrong. There are people making a full-time income from Fiverr and I am talking about people living in America, UK , Canada and other developed countries. These are not people who benefit from the high exchange rates of their local currencies to the dollar and can live on $400 a month. They make $1,000’s a month because they have found great ways to up their earnings. If you are looking for ways to increase the cash that you earn from this super site. Or you are still sitting on the fence because you feel it is a waste of your time; here are 5 smart ways you make more money with Fiverr. Next Levels The name Fiverr is misleading. People here it and think $5 is all that they can earn. $5 is the first amount of money that you are entitled to earn. If you make 10 sales in your first 30 days, you can sell stuff for $10. If you make 50 sales in your next 60 days, you can sell stuff for $20. If you become a top-rated seller, you can sell stuff for $50 or even $100 if you want. So $5 is only a stepping stone. Make Delicious Offers You have to get creative and make special offers on Fiverr, if you want to make money. Offer bonuses like “buy 2 and get one free”. Tell people to buy now because you just had a kid and want to celebrate and that you would soon change your offer. Tell people you would work for free, if they are happy with your work and send 5 referrals your way. Tell them anything that means more value for $5. This is very important especially if you are just starting out and need to get some positive ratings under your belt. Promote other Online Endeavors Do not forget that you can also be a buyer of services on Fiverr. You would be amazed at what you can get for $5! If you are looking to promote your Clickbank or Adsense site, Fiverr is a great way to get traffic for cheap. There are people here who would submit your articles to 1000’s of directories for $5. There are people who would blast your post to every forum on the planet. There are people that would give your site a mention on their Morning radio program or tweet your URL to 1000’s of followers. If you have other online interests and you are looking for traffic, use Fiverr. Start a Business for Nigerians Just like in the early days when credit card services were offered and people paid for things we wanted online. If you are a seller on Fiverr and have some money in your account, you can offer to pay for stuff for people and collect the naira equivalent. You can take things to another level by being professional about it and building a site that sells Fiverr services to Nigerians. And yes! You can get a site for $5. However, it must not be more than 5 pages and you are meant to provide the content. It does not cover hosting and your domain name registration too. There are many unique things that Nigerians would find appealing. I had a white Father Christmas guy sing for my son last Xmas and uploaded it on Facebook. People thought I was in Yankee. But I was Naija, live and direct. Imagine having some white chic wish you happy Valentine and having a video to prove it? This is a real money-spinner. Get this business right and you would not even need to be trying to sell services on Fiverr anymore. Be sure that you know what Nigerians are willing to pay money for and create a business around it. Outsourcing This method is a similar to what I just mentioned. The major difference is that this one goes beyond Nigeria and is about looking for work on freelance sites on the Internet, getting a winning bid and coming back to Fiverr to get the work done. This is another money-maker. You do not have to lift a finger to do anything. You just need money at hand to pay any Fiverr worker that you choose. Ensure that the guy has plenty of ratings and would allow you make any changes in case your client is not satisfied. I hope these tips are helpful. You can contact me on toluwalomo@gmail.com if you have any questions. You can also post any inquiries here. I will try to respond as quickly as I can. |
