Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Biodun Speaks Amid Rape Accusation, Tells Members Not To Fight Protesters by MrMystrO(m): 3:19pm On Jun 30, 2019
philip0906:
Mrs A accuses Mr A of rape on social media, the court of social media filled with emotional, senseless and foolish judges, declare him guilty as charged simply because of the "words" of Mrs A-no proofs, nothing.

I pity foolish people especially foolish men who do not understand the pattern that is been formed- where a bitter woman could just wake up one morning when you're made and head straight to the court of social media and accuse you of something devastating as rape to even scores because she knows she needs show no proof, just her words.

Do we start reeling out the false and baseless rape accusations that have been made in the past, by senile women who headed straight to online courts to get back at men? These fortunate men were only lucky to escape these accusations.

If as a woman, a man forces himself on you against your will, head straight to the authorities- police, courts and lawyers and file a report. What that does for you is even if you're denied justice, when you come out on social media and scream, there are artifacts that you can reference to back up your claim. It makes logical people see reason with you.

Times have changed, women who are GENUINE victims of rape in this part of the world, are getting justice. Don't let any ediot deceive you that rape cases cannot be proved and that the judicial system does not support rape victims. It is a bloody lie.

Right here on nairaland we read the story of the Rivers lawmaker who allegedly raped a hotel worker. Her sister carried out a lone protest. Apparently, there were witnesses who heard her scream. Police took up the case and the lawmaker was on the run. This is the story of a woman who is not even in the middle class but in the poverty line. If that woman comes tomorrow to detail how the lawmaker raped her, there are artefacts, witnesses she can lay hold on to to give credence to her claims.
God bless you for this post man

You the most logical and sensible person I have seen comment on this issue. Every other person I have listened to read their comment are doing so based on sentiment, irrational emotion.
I think this goes to show our level of emotional intelligence in this country, how can you put emotion ahead of sense and logic, a country like Nigeria is guided by laws and decrees. Rape is criminal and every criminal must be punished by the law. But not until after a court judgement. I know everybody has a rift to take side o who to support when a issue concerns two parties but can you voice you opinion without a sense of judgment and insults? We should be matured in character and reasoning. What really but my imagination was how big celebrities were quick to condemn the pastor and pass judgment, for crying out loud you are you an influencer to youths and your followers, you are destroying this mans brand, let the court decide.
This is media jungle justice to me, We need to exhibit a high level of decorum especially on the social media.
Finally I pray the truth comes out and the guilty party adequately dealt with by the law.
Thank you sir for your kind compliments. Honestly, i have no negative comment or opinion about her story, same as you i assume.. as a matter of fact i actually do commend her for speaking out. But I'm also logical enough to know that the story could be true or not.. That is why we have the courts to ascertain without a doubt if one is guilty or not and then pass judgement accordingly. What is not useful though, is this bandwagon of sentimentalism that is been latched on to by many people on social media.. Not only will it do us no good, it's very actually dangerous. All we are saying is Let the due process take its course in court and let justice be served, that's all.

Nigerian celebrities are the ones who have already passed judgment without proof. Set of dumb celebrities! grin

On the other side, this Timi's wife is beautiful, but empty upstairs. She left me wondering as to her degree of dumbness. I don't know if the pastor raped you @16 or not, but that you later became a choir member of COZA, serving God under a rapist in guise as a pastor for years 'till you were married prove the point I just raised. That you're a dumb woman! I mean, which reasonable person does that?

1st things first to all, SAY NO TO RAPE!!

Rape victims deserve to be allowed to speak up and be heard, and it doesn't matter the time they are speaking up, no matter how long ago the act happened, the accusers story deserves to be accorded credibility and they should get justice. I can never and will never stand for rape. However, a person is innocent until proven guilty, and the accuser should take her case to court to the seek justice they desperately deserve. BUT THERE IS A REASON WHY THE LAW SAYS ONE IS ASSUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

However on Social media, this rape issue has turned into an Attention seeking freak show in which celebrities and non celebrities alike jump on the bandwagon of sentimentalism while heavily ignoring LOGIC and and FACTS simply to gain more attention and clout. The Social media court can never and will never prove TRUE guilt or innocence. I believe rapists deserve to be punished for their crimes and should rot in jail, But you can only legally prove one is guilty in a court of law!

A rape allegation is a court issue, and until a verdict is reached, it'll be unwise to jump into hasty conclusions or internet jungle Justice as I call it. Many of the people calling for the mans head online will condemn jungle Justice on the streets but are quick to do exactly what they condemn on the internet when it comes to rape accusations. This is very unwise. Every Rape victim regardless of how long ago she was raped deserves Justice, but Justice gotten the right way!

Nigerians please be wise

Lastly, I saw a comment on twitter where someone said "There are never two sides to a rape victims story, NEVER" and because of how stupid but very believable that statement is, i feel i have a duty to share these stories of men who were wrongly accused of rape and whose lives were completely shattered because of this "Believe only the accuser" ideology and why it's not only a very Foolish ideology, but also a very dangerous one.

My issue with the terrorism issue we're having today in Nigeria is that Nigerians don't even know what we're fighting. Many people think we're fighting a terrorist army stacked somewhere. NO, we're fighting an IDEOLOGY. A Radical Islamic ideology sweeping across the world, threatening peace and freedom. And the way to fight it isn't just with guns and troops alone, but with massive investments in Education, Eradication of poverty and improvement of quality of life for more people. Provide people with education and opportunity to have a good life and they'll have no reason to take up arms or blowup themselves. This is the only way we can fight this menace.

Sheer ill-luck, not that Ajax grossly underperformed. Moura's last goal could've hit the bar or gotten saved but somehow rolled in. Liverpool are lucky not to have faced them.
Ill-luck you say? There are too many loopholes in the point you're trying to make. i can critizise ajax's performance by saying they could have defended better, could have scored an extra goal or at least not fucking blow away a 3 goal lead. That doesn't seem like bad luck to me. The teams that deserve to be in the finals played in the final, and they played the way they did because they're used to each other and have been playing each other since forever. The “boring” match tag is silly honestly. The team that deserved to win, won the competition, end of story.

Kayceenaz:
My point is neither of tonight's teams exuded great yearning to win. How can a team be a goal behind in a final this grand and still play with such lifelessness plus satisfaction with second place? Whereas Ajax would have palpably given their all, even if they don't steal the show. A final should be a contest without similarity to the video quality of NTA.
Why was ajax not in the final then? Please explain to me.

Whenever we get to the champions league finals, people want to act as if all the other teams were not given a fair chance to get to the finals. Guess what? THEY WERE! Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Juve, all of them! They didn't take it. The team with the most desire to win it, won. Keep your stupid smelly criticism of the teams playing a “Boring” final to yourself. If your team deserved to be in the final, they would have been there not sitting at home. Up Liverpool! #YNWA

This is the most arid Champions League final in the past decade. Tottenham lacked hunger while Liverpool were unconvincing. Instead, an Ajax versus Liverpool final would have surely left us at the edge of our seats virtually all game.
All the other teams you're talking about lost to the teams here. What's your point?

Lol too bad i missed this thread. So you couldn't even mention Any current wrestler Alive his height but you could easily say Some wrestlers are “Taller without even trying”. I know you're an intelligent guy man, you sound like one.. But just admit that was a hasty statement. A height of 7 ft 4 is no mere feat considering the fact that anything above 7ft is called Gigantism. Has nothing to do with how tall or short the average height of people in a country is.
