fairlytreated: You can imagine such obvious error from IRCC. These guys make too many errors and its so unacceptable. You will surely get approval with your profile.... It's just the little delay.
The same thing happened to me when I requested for the renewal of Travel Exemption Letter for my children because theirs expired since it wasn't used within the 3 months validity period. The guy that handled the request said the application with my UCI number wasn't approved so I was not eligible to request Travel Exemption Letter for my children. And I attached everything o - I mean my student visa, their visitor visas and the expired exemption letters.
In fact my other letter quoting the refusal reason was filled with anger questioning IRCC standard. I got their responds after 16 days with the new Travel Exemption Letter. These guys make too many errors.
Just stay positive and shoot again. Excuse me, please what do you mean by travel exemption ? |

19CannyMum: This thread was my only source of info. Eligibility and background check started within 2 days after applying. NSE requirements provided at submission with good ielts (highest band) and 1 year MBS. Self sponsored. Upfront medicals. Sibling in Canada (PR). Travel history to Europe and US.
Document list Letter of acceptance (1 year post diploma certificate, but career progression was very clear) Passport Proof of means of financial support: Conversion table Official fee schedule My Bank statement certificate 1 (joint account) My Bank statement certificate 2 (Dom account) My Bank Statement certificate 3 (personal savings) Spouse consent letter Pension Digital photo Medical exam slip Client information (I merged everything below into one file): Statement of Purpose (I addressed career path and ties) Newspaper and marriage cert Police Clearance Certificate Letter of intent (the one presented to the school to gain admission) CV (showing career progression) WAEC B.SC NYSC IELTS Current contract Past contracts Contact currently being negotiated Salary account my bank statement Payslips (last three months) Birth certificate Birth Certificate of spouse BC of children Spouse's employment letter 2 C of O and one deed
My employment letter stated that I was going on vacation lol and my current contract ends before December. Those were the main weaknesses of my application and I tried to address them in my SOP.
Total money in all bank accounts far exceeded $30k and there was serious inflow and outflow... Like up to 15m can leave today, 5m come in tomorrow etc. This was another weakness.
However grace covered the weaknesses.
Thanks to everyone who shares their experiences here. Especially to those who are brave enough to share their delays. Delay is never denial, pick up and refire please.
I ordered GCMS notes yesterday (21st business day after medicals passed), I will share it here once received.
School resumes in September and I had already registered to resume online. No tuition payment has been made. Crossing over to SOWP thread now.
Thank you for all the congrats and good wishes. It will go round and you will be celebrated too. How is that possible You didn’t pay a dime on your tuition. Are you on full scholarship ?? Congrats by the way! It ended in praise |

But I heard the intake is valid for 3 sessions. Although I’m in control of the entire process now. I made a mistake of even using an agent. |

I dont think they will believe u dont have a BSC at that age.wen she gets there, she can apply for SOWP 4 u.but it means u must have skills to even find a work ooo.what skills do u have sir Currently I’m a businessman. But before I started importation business, I was IT web design and programming. Been long I left that field and I feel I’m lagging behind. What I intend doing is to carry on with my application with university of Manitoba which I already started regardless of the outcome which looks like I have little chance cos of the age and study gap. I also want to enroll my wife for a master degree study in another school immediately. So we might as well run this process simultaneously. Which school is best to apply for a master program? |

Hi guys, great stuff and eye-opening information out here.. I must commend everyone for helping people actualise their dreams.
I recently started following this thread when I truly got fed up of this country and I just wanna by every legitimate means. Firstly of all I decide to go through the route of an agent because it was gonna be pretty much easy since I’m a novice when it comes to migration. Long and short, I contacted an agent I met via Instagram. And then he promise he’s gonna get admission for an undergraduate study and subsequently get a study-work visa for me which I’ll pay him In batches after getting the admission 1st and 2ndly and securing the study-work visa to Canada.
We’ve actually started with the process, which the school is yet to issue the admission, but then I feel I have enough information at hand to go with the process since almost everyone here is doing it without an agent.
The little challenge I have now Is, he already stated the process (which is still at the early stage, at least I haven’t gotten the admission). How do I hijack it from it? Secondly, I’m 36yrs old now but never had a undergraduate degree (Bsc) before. Will my age hamper my chances of getting the visa ? Or better still, I use my wife to apply for a masters degree since she has a Bsc?.
Please gurus in the house help me out cos I want to start this process almost immediately.
Thank you all and apologies for the long write up. |

hajidel: True for the most part
The adjudication then refusal or issuance of a visa is in law I hope you know that? Most likely not.
The VO has to apply the law for the adjudication to either refuse or issue. Some VOs will dislike someone and don't want to issue them visa but that said person is qualified and must be issued a visa. On the other hand you might be liked by the VO but by law you don't qualify for a visa and you will be refused, sentiments are out of the window.
So if you know the LAW and your visa application is truthful and honest, you are very likely to be issued a visa. And when you get refused, in as much as you get served the 214(B) template, you can ask the VO nicely as to the specifics, most times you will yield the answer from them.
Only you know how much you want to or can spend. So my advice is do your research about disneyland, flights, food, transportation etc and see if it falls within your means then you can decide.
Cannot be said any better. We tend to neglect the DS-160 form but it is huuuuuge and very important. The form dictates the line of questions in the interview, then its up to your answers verbally that they correlate.
Laziness = Not so favorable results most times
Not true at all. The VO might admire your honesty unlike some that will blatantly lie about the situation.
Nothing in the law states it is illegal to go to the USA to give birth. What is illegal is using taxpayers money for hospital bills (a lot of visitors do). So because of that, they want to make sure you won't be a public charge that you have enough funds to cover medical emergencies. Medical emergencies are so expensive (can run in hundreds of thousands for just something minor) in USA very few people have that financial capability without an insurance.
So make sure you have a super healthy bank statement, if you have correspondences with doctors, hospitals etc include them, ties compelling your return back to nigeria and can convince a very skeptical VO at the interview window because of previous statistics of applicants befitting that profile.
It is a tough ask but it is not impossible. Many a people have successfully applied for visa being pregnant and are issued. Thanks for the response. I'll apply with my wife anyways. I just don't wanna waste my hard earned money on US visa thats not viable. Country hard lol |

Oh well, AOS brother's mum will hardly ever get that visa, particularly if his name appears on anywhere and at any stage during that her application.
My Disney World family, your budget didn't cut it. Most likely too, your communication during the interview could have sent some message, even for as little as not saying things from your mouth just as stated in the DS160 form you signed off.... Previous contributors have done you well with their contributions, build something from there.... Pls whats AOS |

She has an interview scheduled already and i’m worried. She was supposed to come with my dad but he passed away 2 months back, so she will be coming alone. Is there any tips or things to pay attention to? My wife sent out the invitation letter to her, alongside other documentations like bank statements, international passports and all. Please help me my people, is wedding invitation a solid ground to be granted B1/B2 visa? Is there anything we should consider? Can my status in the US affect things?
N.B. She will only be staying for 3 weeks. What's your status in the US? We need to understand so we can know How To Help you |

So travelling to Ghana, Kinshasa, Mogadishu ... before applying for US visa may or my not help. Well travelling for honeymoon after getting married since August 2018. Wouldn't that be considered as too long a time to go for honeymoon? |

Straight to the point. My wife and I got married August 2018. We plan on going to the US for our honeymoon.
I run a business here in Lagos with a registered company since 2012 and I have a eoburat turnover in my cooperate bank account As for my wife, she's an interior decorator. She just finished her NYSC last year.
What if she gets pregnant in the process while waiting for our interview?
We have No travel history and both passports are virgin. As a matter of fact, her international passport just expired and she's going for a renewal. Do we have to go to Ghana,Togo and Benin to disvirgin our passport or just apply with the virgin passport without any travel history?
And is it too late to go honeymoon now
NB: we haven't applied yet o. The travel should be around February 14th (Valentine) |

greatgod2012: This is soooooo soooooo sad! And this is a big lesson for all of us, both young and old.....no two individuals are d same, d rate at which we absorb issues differ, when some pple are bullied, they bounce back to d bully with full, fuller and fullest force, that even d first bully will regret ever bullying them, while, some cant absorb at all, you bully them, they start thinking of how to permanently avoid you, either by taking their lives or by totally avoiding having anything to do with d bully.........that is what psychologists call....individual differences. And since we might not know d type of person we are dealing with, whether strong willed or weak willed, its advisable to try and avoid bullying our fellow human beings, because, we might just get more than what we bargained for, just like this case. May God help us all. May d soul of d departed rest in peace. Nice one |
