Marotzke: You can confirm it very well. Oya present yourself to the J T F commander as a war monitor , arm your self with a digital camera and recorder . Cover all the counter insurgency operations and file your reports to nairaland. After all Ango Abdullah I said northern elders will monitor the state of emergency. Do your elders and nairaland members a favour, be the change you advocate, go and video a soldier where him de bulala boko member , impossiblity will become possible.
READ THE BELOW QUOTE (the part bolded).

mu2sa2: One-sided propaganda. People fleeing from violence are boko haram, ok let's hear their own defence. You impose violence on a whole city and say people should not flee.Absurd. Let foo.ls celebrate. Today it's maiduguri, 2morrow they will use the "experience" on niger delta, when Asari and other bandits start their own. Maybe then those who now must talk virgins with every foul breath will perhaps be talking non-virgins.

PoliticsNorthern Elders Visit Borno, Say Northerner Must Emerge President In 2015 by mrofficial(op): 9:49am On May 15, 2013
Northern Elders Visit Borno, Say Northerner Must Emerge President in 2015

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) yesterday insisted that the presidency should be shifted to the region in 2015 general elections, as a mark of equity and justice.

Secretary of the NEF, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, made the remarks when he led other members of the forum on a courtesy visit to Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima at the Government House in Maiduguri.

Abdullahi, a one-time Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, insisted that by 2015 the North will no longer misuse its right of producing the president as it did in 2011, blaming such failure to the connivance of some state governors of the region.

He noted that the North will never again compromise what rightly belongs to it, saying however that the forum has already put all hands on deck to see to the successful return of power to the region.

“I was one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who outlined the zoning formula of presidency between North and South but unfortunately, following the demise of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the formula was immediately put aside to achieve unjustifiable course,” he declared.

The NEF scribe said the North has the population, resources and all it takes to make them produce the next president, noting that the forum will liaise with relevant stakeholders of the region to ensure that what was taken away from them is returned.

“Presently we don’t have a particular political party or presidential candidate, rather the North is our party and candidate. We will join forces with anyone willing to see the restoration of power to the region,” he added.

He noted the North must rediscover itself to fight through its present predicaments, “if the future of the younger generation of the northern people is to be as promising as it used hope to be.”

“Our fathers had used the resources of the North to make this country what it is today, and those who do not know the history of this country are now thinking that they can overrun us politically.

Our hands must be put on deck and we must prove to them that we would rise again to glory, because the problem of the North is the North and we must ensure we resolve our differences for the betterment of our children,” Abdullahi said.

He also condemned the security challenges confronting the region and the way security forces are handling the issue. He specifically faulted the Baga killings, describing the acts as barbaric, saying the forum is presently collating information and facts in order to take the case to the International Criminal Court.

Abdullahi commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the loss of lives and properties occasioned by the insurgency. In his remarks, Governor Shettima threw his weight behind the northern presidency, saying the region has all necessary requirements to produce the next president.

The governor argued that even if the region is carved out of the country, it will be the most populous area in the entire African region.

Tragedy struck on Friday May 10, 2013 on the popular Marina Street in Lagos Island as a mast from a two storey building fell on a roadside trader on the street, killing him instantly.

The 52 years old victim who was identified as Adeolu Adeleke but popularly known as Baba Ibeji had gone to cover his wares to prevent them from being soaked in the rain but unfortunately was hit by the mast while returning to a shade.

One of the people who witnessed the incident and a very close friend of the deceased said Adeleke was warned not to enter the rain because of the strong wind but he refused. “I told him to forget about the goods since the wind was blowing strongly, but he said he would hurry down there quickly not knowing that he will not return,” he said.

Adeleke according to his colleagues in the area was described as a gentleman with the fear of God and who goes about his business quietly and diligently.
