Pastor Kun: Apart from the fact that tithes is not required of you as a christian, there is no passage in scripture that says you must pay interest if you are late in paying your tithes. Whoever told you that must have twisted scriptures to arrive at that false conclusion.
Exactly. @OP Just meet up with your tithe and that is all. Most do not even pay anyone that they failed to pay.

Boko Haram Insurgents and Mercenaries Attack Borno Town, Kill 11

Defence Headquarters

By Michael Olugbode

Suspected members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect backed by foreign mercenaries have attacked Damboa in Borno State killing 11 persons.

It was gathered in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital Friday that the Arab-speaking mercenaries, believed to be Chadians stormed the already deserted Damboa on Thursday night laying siege on the town before launching a massive attack.
Speaking on the attack to journalists in Maiduguri yesterday, a top security source who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorized to speak confirmed the incident, claiming 11 civilians lost their lives.

"More troops have been dispatched to the area to confront the insurgents. We gathered that they sneaked out of Damboa towards the bush part leading into Yobe and Gombe States. For sure, they will not escape," he said.
Sources revealed to journalists that the insurgents during the attack also destroyed more than half of the business premises and shops in the village even though they reportedly faced stiff resistance from Borno youth volunteer vigilante groups (civilian JTF)who also killed one of the insurgents, injured many and captured one alive.

A resident of Damboa who was compelled to flee the town to Maiduguri said the assailants, numbering about 50 attacked the town in a convoy of nine Golf salon cars and motorcycles.
He said there was heavy gunfire from the insurgents who also targeted police and military formations, which forced the residents to vacate their houses and to nearby farms and bushes.

"The attackers arrived Damboa around 8pm and laid siege till around 12am. They divided themselves into three groups. One of the groups confronted the police, the other confronted the military and the third group waylaid the civilian population and burnt many houses," the fleeing resident said.

He added that: "The good news is that the youth vigilantes defied the superior power of the attackers because they confronted them squarely. Though what the youth had were daggers, knives and machetes, but they were well charmed up as the gun bullets could not penetrate most of them."

Another witness said there are aliens among the attackers. "They spoke Arabic fluently and they came with sophisticated guns and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). They threw many of the explosives into shops and buildings," he said.
Member representing Damboa in the Borno State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayamu Lawan Gwasha, told journalists in Maiduguri yesterday that his people "are under siege".were also alerted. I think this has helped in reducing the magnitude of the attack," he said.

Spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Lt Colonel Sagir Musa could not however be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report last night.

Yinka Adeparusi is a photojournalist who uses his camera lens not only to record the "what," but the "why" of a scene as well. He now works for the National Mirror newspaper in Lagos after time spent as a trainee reporter and photojournalist at two other Nigerian publications, The Punch and New Age. Adeparusi graduated from the prestigious Lagos State University School of Communication, achieving double honors in both photojournalism and cinematography.

The winner of multiple awards for his work, Adeparusi feels especially drawn to reporting human rights issues through powerful images. He hopes his work exposes the problems confronting his immediate environment and Nigerian society in general.

In his winning photograph, Adeparusi captured an image of several children about to paddle home from school in Makoko, the slum where they live which is raised on stilts over Lagos Lagoon. Education is often described as one of the most powerful weapons against poverty. But in the Makoko floating slum, the poorest settlement in all of Nigeria, many children have little hope of ever seeing the inside of a classroom. These kids are a few of the lucky ones.

10 Year-Old Nigerian Girl, Zuriel Oduwole, Enters Record Books – Makes Forbes History

https://cdn.informationnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Zuriel-Oduwole-300x168.jpg

Zuriel Elise Oduwole is a 10 year old girl, but not just your regular 10-year-old.

The extraordinary Nigerian-American child has put her name down in the history and record books as the youngest person ever to be interviewed in Forbes.

The interview with the award winning documentary film maker, conference speaker and writer is featured in the August 2013 edition of Forbes Africa.

At the tender age 0f 10, Zuriel possesses an amazing talent that has elevated her to great heights. The 10 year old has sat face to face with renowned world leaders in interviews and one on one chat sessions.

She has sat with the current Presidents of Tanzania, Mauritius, and Malawi–one of Africa’s only two female national leaders. Others include ex-presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Kufuor of Ghana. Zuriel has also had a one-on-one interview with Africa’s most successful businessman, Mr. Aliko Dangote. She even got a standing ovation for her sets of provoking and creatively intelligent questions to tennis superstars, Venus & Serena Williams, during their world press conference in Nigeria.

Zuriel says she has not been granted an interview by the President of Nigeria because of his busy schedules but hopes to achieve that soon.

Zuriel (which is Hebrew for God is my Rock) believes if she can walk a mile, then there are girls who on seeing her work and progress made, would walk a mile and half.
