It's not uncommon to see any particular Nigerian musician who celebrates his or her age on the birth date that doesn't raise questions or eyebrows from fans as to whether they're truly in that particular age bracket.
I had a senior two classes above me in secondary school who was signed by G-worldwide two years ago.As i was going through the biography his manager or team put up for him,i was quite surprised to see he had clipped four years off his age.

What is the reason behind this? Because i know in music,age doesn't influence a musician's value unlike in sports(particularly football) where many Africans love to reduce their age in order to still attract contracts from Europe because the younger you are,the higher your value rises.

A musician can even be in his eighties yet still be touring the whole of the world for shows and concerts.Age is never a factor in music value so why do Nigerian musicians do so??
