IPOB youths and those shouting Biafra have forgotten Ojukwu.

Today is the posthumous birthday of Odumegwu ojukwu. While they rush to defend the ignorant business londonder, who is now in what he called zoo prison, the man who created and first use the word Biafra to describe the geographical entity is now forgotten. How patriotic and passionate of you.

Adebayo Olatayo David, a Nigerian soldier recently posted to Borno announced a new name for all soldiers currently fighting Boko Haram insurgents.

In a post on his facebook page he wrote:
Even in times of trauma, we try to maintain a sense of normality until we no longer can. That, my friends, is called surviving. Not healing. We never become whole again ... we are survivors. If you are here today... you are a survivor. But those of us who have made it thru hell and are still standing? We bare a different name: warriors.

The New Us is probably lonely ..

My first daughter comes back from school, does her home work and then goes to her room to watch cartoon. And then if there is any interruption in power supply she picks her hand device to play one game or the other . This is pretty much her life routine ,daily .She's 5 already.

We have lived in our current neighborhood, an elite estate in Enugu GRA for almost 2 years now,but she has no friends ,not one .
My daughter probably never met any kid living in the estate ,they never played together nor shared any toys ,and she's growing into a teenager . I see boredom in her everyday and am worried . Her birthdays are usually attended by kids we hurriedly pleaded with their parents to bring to the house for the party, no real friends ,usually they never meet again after the birthday party,or till the next birthday Party. They do not even get to know one another's names, emergency parties ,emergency grooves and emergency gifts . Am worried about what kind of personality she's gonna develop not having enough time to socialize with other kids except at school, which usually allow about 30 minutes of break each school day.

This is the story of the new society we are building. High fences ,little interactions, mind your business, forming contentment and throwing away community life .

I remember my childhood and I shudder at what these kids face nowadays.
We roamed the streets, we went hunting,we spent long hours in one another's houses ,we shared lunches and we developed life long relationships .

With the evolution of the www,the classroom is disappearing. In less than 20 Years we wouldn't be needing class rooms as our learning would become mostly virtual. Our kids would meet in the internet and date online, falling in love would become old fashioned and with time there won't be need for marriages as any one desiring procreation could easily get one through technology without needing a partner ,sex has become cyber based as over 60% of solicitations are currently online and climbing, Badoo, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, POF etc.
Technology has also developed alternative means of sexual gratification, the women folks have been almost completely settled in that aspect as most people could now derive maximum sexual pleasure with all types of intimacy gadgets mostly more efficient than physical men and no risks of relationship complications including heartbreaks and STDs.
Improvement is currently taking place in male intimacy gadget development. In about 50 years time 90% of sex workers in Japan and Holland would be robots that posses better abilities than humans .
The end of humanity is almost here .

CultureWhat Is Happening In Your Village? by mrrights(op): 12:58pm On Oct 31, 2016
What is happening in your village? Should you gather 100 Nigerians and asked them about their village or home town, hardly can 50 of them provide you with meaningful information. The best they know about their village is the name and the main road that led there. Majority of Nigerians can not tell you names of towns or villages that surrounded their own town, neither can they tell you anything interesting about it to raise your curiosity. Majority of us cannot list all roads that lead to our town or villages, neither can we properly describe that one road sef. To make matter worse, some Nigerians does not even know anybody in their own village, neither have they ever called to ask what is happening in their. Out of 100 Nigerians, if you ask what has been happening in their villages since the past 1month or so, more than 70% of them don't know, some don't even care to know. This is how far and disconnected we are from our immediate localities. If na lie, oya tell us the name of the villages or town surrounding yours and also tell us what has been happening in your town in the last 1 week.

Initially, I do not intend to watch the Miss Anambra sex tape. Watching such video often disgust me like hell. Why should even bother about other people's private affairs in the first place? It's not my way at all. As I said earlier, my initial attitude was to ignore the tape like I always do to similar things. If I do not watch the tape, there is no way I will comment on the story, not to talk of judging or crucifying the culprits. Only God can judge us all of our various acts of sin. However, I was eventually forced to watch the tape today. The various opinions I have been reading made it impossible to ignore. I have seen alot of views, especially by those claiming to stand with the culprits. I have also seen those of the other side , but both do not impress me at all. While I strongly condemn those who put the tape on the social media, I think those claiming to stand with the ladies are not being fair or just to this country. Why did I say so? In the tape, I saw 3 ladies. The 1st is miss Anambra lady, lying on her back and helping herself with cucumber. She was so serious with the cucumber like she was telling the men in her life, ''cucumber don replace you''. ''With cucumber, there is no assault, no domestic violence, no emotional torture, no heart break and no complain''. I even felt like she was saying, '' Cucumber does the same thing as you, but gives no problem as you. It is far better because , you won’t have to worry about condom or unwanted pregnancy, aids and other sexually transmitted diseases''. As I was saying, then, another naked lady came on bed to join miss Anambra. Both obviously engaged in act of Lesbianism and the second lady took over the utilization of cucumber on Miss Anambra. The 3rd lady, to my understanding, was the one filming the act. Towards the end of the video, 3rd lady came closer to miss Anambra, even placed her left hand, with pink nails on her leg, probably using the second hand to hold the phone being used to film the unholy act. If you go back to the video, watch the last 20 seconds, you will see the 3rd lady. From every indication based on what I saw, the video wasn't recorded by any secret camera, it was actually filmed by the girls themselves. A very close coverage. Now, If we should go by the law of this country, which we all know punishes Lesbianism by 14 years imprisonment, we should be calling on security agencies to arrest and prosecute these girls for not only engaging in the act, but also recording it. This is why I find it shocking that some so called advocate of rule of law are publicly saying they stand with the girls without first condemning the act. What exactly are you standing with the girls for? Are you saying you stand with their acts of Lesbianism or what exactly? Since the law also punishes those who aid the culprits or support them, are you saying you want to share part of such punishment should this case go legal or your standing is just for show to claim feminism? Or are you saying the girls are not guilty of the Act? I don't just get it. While I understand that some are trying to be human and compassionate towards the girls despite their immoral and illegal act, the least I expect them to do is condemn the act, if not the culprits, something many of them failed to do. They are rather shifting the issue, from the girls, to those who purportedly exposed the tape. While I also condemn those who might have intrude their privacy,I equally condemn their acts of Lesbianism more. Even the association of beauty pageant in Nigeria had strongly condemn the acts and the girls for engaging in Lesbianism. Those who continue to claim to stand with the girls without condemning the act have misplaced their priority.

PEACE-TALK II: Title: You smile, I frown. You cry, I laugh
By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat

You frown, when I smile
I laugh, when you cry
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t want you frowning
You don’t want me laughing
But we can’t stop smiling and laughing
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you frown, when I smile?
Aren’t you supposed to smile with me?
Why do I laugh, when you cry?
Aren’t I supposed to feel your pains?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I should have known
Not my smile, made you frown
But my selfishness and lack of consideration
Oh yes, I am not laughing because you cry
But because I am not the victim
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terrorist are killing people in the North
You smile, they are killing themselves
Ipob were murdered in the South
I laugh, it’s good for them
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why should I smile with you
When people are murdered by terrorists?
Why should you laugh with me
When people are murdered extra-judicially?
Why should we smile and laugh
When our fellow country people are victims?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am, because we are
So says an African proverb
Only if we laugh together
Can laughter make meaning
Injury to one, they is an injury to all
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please don’t smile, when we are to frown
And don’t laugh, when we are to cry
Sometimes, crying together
Can be sweeter than laughing alone
And laughing alone, can be painful than frowning together.
If we can both cry and frown together
Certainly, we shall laugh and smile together.

National Open University Lawyers And Their Laughable Tactics To Frustrate Justice
http://saharareporters.com/2016/10/23/national-open-university-lawyers-and-their-laughable-tactics-frustrate-justice-okang

As an African man, I grew up in a community where proverbs are used in everyday conversation. And one of such proverbs, to pass it across in English, says that: ‘a thief who is caught in the dead of night hopes that daylight never comes.’ That is the current situation in a fundamental human rights suit which some students filed against the National Open University of Nigeria at the Federal High Court, Lagos Division in suit number FHC/L/SC/1883/2015.

They sued the institution for expelling them for exercising their Constitutional rights as enshrined under sections 39 and 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They are asking the court to enforce their fundamental rights to freedom of association and all other human rights which the institution has violated with impunity.

After serving the University on Monday, January 18th, 2016, the institution approached the chambers of a former Minister of Justice in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to defend them in the case. But that is not even the matter; it is the unprofessional conduct of their lawyers that one finds particularly repulsive and laughable.

The University lawyers had five days (between 18th and 22nd of January, 2016) to file their defense but failed to do so. And when the matter came up for hearing on January 26th, 2016, being the 9th day after service of the processes on them, they told the court that their clients had just briefed them that morning! They begged the court to adjourn to enable them to file their defense. The court sat at exactly 09:00 that morning, how could they have been briefed that very day? Did their clients sleep in their chambers? The learned trial Judge obliges their request in the interest of justice and fair hearing, even though they already were out of time. The matter was at their instance adjourned to February 2nd, 2016.

The court did not sit on February 2nd, and so the suit was moved to February 9th, 2016. On February 9th, 2016, they were in court and claimed that they were not promptly informed that the matter was to come up. They pleaded with the court to adjourn, the learned Judge obliged and adjourned again in the interest of fair hearing and justice. The suit was further adjourned to February 17th, 2016. They chose to absent themselves from the court on the said February 17th, 2016, but the court had to proceed to hear the students’ counsel who was present in court before the suit was eventually reserved for judgment. It was after judgment on the suit had been reserved that National Open University lawyers filed their defense, praying the court to re-open hearing on the same matter. They followed that up with a strange application which they said was to arrest the judgment of the court (whatever that means). The students’ counsel filed a counter affidavit telling the court that an application to stop the judgment of a court is an unknown application in Nigerian legal practice and that the court should proceed and deliver its judgment as planned. These applications are currently pending before the court.

Although the Judge may have decided to hear the pending applications in the interest of fair hearing, it is the Open University lawyers who are bent on frustrating the suit since that is the only way they can prove to their clients that they are doing a ‘great job.'

The suit was given a long adjournment to October 3rd , 2016 which turned out to be a public holiday. This resulted in the Court giving it another long adjournment to December 19th, 2016. The Applicants wrote to the Court asking the court to review the date considering the damage it might do to their academic programs. The court justifiably considered the Applicants’ prayers and reviewed the matter to October 27th, 2016.

But sadly, the trend in Nigerian legal practice is that lawyers with bad cases always work to frustrate justice to prevent the court from delivering its ruling. This is the case with the lawyers of National Open University who, upon learning that a new date had been given, hurriedly wrote to the Court asking court to ignore the Applicants’ pleas and stick to 19th December, 2016 under the pretext that their firm has matters in other courts on the 27th of October, 2016. Not only is this lie childish, but it also stinks terribly. It is extremely embarrassing that advocates of the Supreme Court of Nigeria can resort to such cheap, outdated, nauseating lies to prove to their clients that they are indeed doing a ‘great job.' How on earth can a law firm with about twenty (20) lawyers all be busy in other courts in one day? Please, since when did the legal profession turn into a profession of cheap and embarrassing lies?

Building on their cheap lie, their current plan is that whether or not the court responds to their letter, they will boycott the Court on October 27th , 2016 in order to secure another adjournment through the back door. In doing so, however, they will send a spy who will observe proceedings when the matter is called. So, as the Applicants hit the road on Thursday, the 27th day of October 2016, what they do not know is that lawyers of National Open University of Nigeria have devised a fresh ploy to frustrate the suit from moving ahead. This is the fresh scheme that the University lawyers have adopted to frustrate the expelled student leaders in their relentless quest for justice. Some of us will continue watching closely with arms folded across our chests.

PEACETALK: It’s crisis, its war
Abdulrazaq O Hamzat

Flames up, body turning hashes
Blood flowing on the ground
Casualties in their numbers
Lives lost, human cruelty at its peak
Wailing loud, victims expressing agony.
Its crisis, its war
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Few people crying, but all are victims
Leaders not minding, it’s all about power
Weapons mass producing, money is the target
Body mass buried, its crisis, its war
More wars, more weapons, more money
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After years of one conflict, it’s more conflicts waiting
After one battle is halted, more battles on the way
After conflict resolution, no conflict is ever resolved
Peace building, conflict management, nothing is ever transformed.
The quest for money and power, needs conflict to strive
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Media enjoy it, it brings traffic
Leaders orchestrate it, it brings attention
Government fuel it, to show their power
Masses enjoy it, it is sensational
More crisis, more war, more death, more agony
Sensation all the way
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blood of the innocent beneath our feet
We walk, run and jump
They wail in pains and cry
When shall we get justice?
The temple of justice responds
Justice is not for free
But only the rich can pay
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the innocent blood that liter the ground
Wash it, clean it, but yet, it remain unclean
That pain may never go away
Hey, did you hear that noise?
Silent soul of the victims crying
Their voice loud like thunder
Tear flowing like river.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do we console them?
How do we comfort them?
How do we empathize with them?
How do we clean their tears?
How do we make their life worth living again?
Nothing can be done to take their sorrow away
They are ghost, in human body.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If we cannot undo the damages we have done to them
At least, let’s stop creating more people like them

Islam is a religion of peace. Yet, Sunni hate Shia till date and Shia equally hates Sunni. So, where is the peace? Between Shia and Sunni, Islam is lost. This is why the Quran said, there is no sect in Islam. You can't be Shia or Sunni, you can only be Muslim. If you are Sunni or Shia, you have deviated from Islam. Fact.

Christianity EtcDo Nigerians Really Have Religion? by mrrights(op): 10:09am On Oct 18, 2016
DO NIGERIANS REALLY HAVE RELIGION?

I have a female friend who happens to be a Muslim, but in the next few minutes, she could suddenly become a Xtian. According to her, if she eventually marry a xtian, she won’t mind becoming a xtian. In her view, its easy to be xtian, all you need is attend church once a week and dance yourself out, unlike being a Muslim that you need to be praying 5 times daily. Also, I have a xtian lady who said she likes me, but upon telling her jokingly that I would have dated her if she is a Muslim, she suddenly want to become a Muslim.
A Muslim friend (Abdulsomething) at one time suddenly changed his name to (brother something) because he wanted to date a xtian lady. He went to Redeem church with her several times claiming to be converted. Similarly, Another xtian guy who wanted to marry a lady in iIorin had to convert to Islam to achieve his aim.

The question is, Do Nigerians really have religion? If yes, what is the motivation behind our religion? Are we in our present religion because we were born in it or because we truly understand it? Do we really understand our religious teaching or just bearing the name?

Lets hear your thoughts.

The most patriotic Barber in Nigeria, Onyekachi is his name. Yesterday night, I feel the need to shave my beards and I went into a nearby barbing saloon. Upon entering the saloon, what first attracted me was the Nigerian flag hanged over the mirror. I didn't really border much about it, instead, I quietly finished my shaving before engaging the Barber, who told me his name is Onyekachi. Responding on why the need for a Nigerian flag in his saloon, Onyekachi said, it energized him. Looking at the flag inspire and give him hope in the better future that awaits him and the country he said. I was compelled to take his picture and that of the flag.
