Ommmmgooodness....I've been truly trashed here, lol, so funny, Nigerian men on here saying I must have gotten dumped by a Nigerian man, and I never once said I dated one. LOL, second I also mentioned the Nigerian women calling Americian women hoes yet, having abortions and sending babies away, and not one person commented on that,LOL. And then u bash a fellow Nigerian just because he say let me have an opinion, sad, sad, sad, sad......and just as I said, theirs an exception to everything, but u CRAZY NIGERIANS that bashed me prove my point...) Quit bashing and blaming everyone for ur failures amd accept responsibility, just as ur quick to say UR SUCH RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.....It is a pattern that the unpure blk american see when u guys do come over here, and it's been going on for years, way before my time, some of u guys meantality towards Blacks is crazy poor and unresponsible, and I know that some of our attitudes toward u, are not great either, but at least be real about it...And I apologize for my opinion to every Nigerian this does not apply too...
Some of the chatters would assume that everyone is desperate for a Nigerian man just because a 22 years old Nigerian boy snagged 68 years old Granny.

However, keep speaking your mind and tell the rest to kiss your arse. wink

MsDarkSkin: hhmmmm

@Poster, if the man judges you because of some bootleg tv network, for being American or some other foolish reason, he is DEFINITELY not worth your time!! Believe it!!!

As a fellow American, just BE YOURSELF!! If that is not enough and if he is not serious about you, what did Chris Brown say? "DEUCES!" wink No man is worth the head ache unless you know for sure he loves you and even then he wouldn't want his woman to stress intentionally. If you have more loose ends and questions then you are sure, let it go. Better is out there, believe you me! kiss
Nice Sis. kiss kiss kiss

For those who claims to be from an "educated" ethnic group should avoid saying dumb/ignorance things.
Just saying. undecided lipsrsealed

Black Entertainment Network (BET) is currently owned by WHITE partners and I do not expect trailer trashes to depict the Black American community that the world haven't seen. If some of you actually pay attention to BET, you will notice that many of the "colored" chicks are damn near pale in complexion that if they were to swallow a drop of bleach, they could pass as White.

Many of these "colored" chicks are European looking with dead people hair and colored contact lens. If we are going to be technical, BET is depicting "light brite" and White women as booty calls/hoes.

You will seldom see dark skinned women in videos, movies, and networks portraying beauty for society STILL view dark skinned women as unattractive and too "African" looking.

The fact that OP is American has nothing to do with why she is dealing with no good niggas, she needs to upgrade and thrive for better.

People need to do their research before throwing out stale spit.

MsDarkSkin: *takes a bow* grin

Chima,

To be honest. It really sucks to have to have this "AA vs African" row. Especially on the internet where members of the audience are not all living in Africa nor are they all black, but as I am learning and as a wise man once said, "just because you are black, it doesn't mean you are my brother". It all makes a hell of a lot of sense. Everything! All of the struggles, all of the pain we endured. SO he/she is right, we are NOT cut from the same cloth..

A-friggen-MEN!!
Is this wise man, Judge Joe Brown? grin grin

I have told many dumb chicks to make sure their foreign boyfriends have their papers before engaging into unprotected sex because America has too many Green Card children with absent seed donors.

Imagine Onyche Kinte asking the Homeland office, "Have you seen my daddy?"

MsDarkSkin: @Amu Igwe, Surely you are talking to someone else. cheesy

Child, I am FAR from obsessed with "anything Nigerian". Know and understand that. I came on here (Nairaland) to put stereotypes to rest, not for a man. I came on here to enlighten myself but it appears I am not the one who needs it....

Furthermore your little "questionare" is hilarious, there are plenty of African men and women (ON THIS SITE!) who have/will read that and would score less than 18 percent unlike myself who EASILY pass with 'flying colors'. AAs "supposedly" have the highest STD/AIDS rate in America, while Africans >> the WORLD. (From Malaria to Ebola. tongue)
It may or may not be true. May be "lies concocted by the white man to make Africa look bad". Eh..who knows? But there is "documentation that prove" it to be true, so it must be right?

The same way we "have babies for welfare" is the same way some of your men plant their seeds in Oyinbos for citizenship status, WHEN they are not online participating in 419/yahoo yahoo. tongue You say Akata women are promiscuous but I guess you haven't been informed about the African s3x trades and the number of African women who have and continue to put their totos on the Italian, British, Greek, Spanish (etc) markets. To make it even worse, a lot of those women are 'p!mped/turned out' by their own family members/spouses (*insert slavery flashback*...'selling out one's kind'...DEJA VU much?) Embarrassing even for me to read about the high numbers of African pr0stitutes throughout Europe. Then you have the nerve to jump on the 'AA men vs. AA women bandwagon' when Nairaland is NOTORIOUS for it's countless ANTI-Nigerian/African women threads. Imbeciles on here styling their woman-kind as "worwor Black Berry and Brazilian weave, big belly/out of shape 'anything western' fiends", and doing so with no apologies or hesitation all the while comparing them to Oyinbo chicks in the UK/America (even going so far as to comparing them to the very Akata women you claim "no African man wants" ). Western women are as you claim 'easy', but I ask, 'if the woman is easy and you sleep with her...what are you?' You brag about your men forking whores as if it is something to be proud of..."Show me your company____" GBAM oo! tongue grin SMH. The hypocrisy and amnesia levels on this site are astounding!

You say I worship the ground African men walk on? Seriously? lol. I may have a preference for them, I ADORE them but I can do without wink. And even then my love for African men pertains to those from CERTAIN nationalities. Jamaican men, Akata men, AFRICAN men, non black men; etc. approach me. I am not "Shanaynay" child, her kind is only a few. I am part of the majority and have my *ish together as I don't want or need for anything thanks to parents who raised their children to be independent and 'go getters'. No, I do not have a "native tongue". No, I don't belong to a tribe. No, I do not have "native soil" to call my own. You, like most Africans, have all of the above and more and yet you are still considered the "bottom of the totem pole" on an international level. 'YES OO' tongue How about the "Motherland"? Where else in the world is a child r@ped because it is believed their virginity will cure AIDs? Where else in the world are people burned/hacked alive because of their tribal/ethnic origin? Where else in the world can a child be accused of witch craft and mutilated just because their mother had "bad luck" or their uncle died of an unknown illness? Where else in the world could you have a history of having 60-80 percent of your presidents gaining power by way of coup d'etats, and thereafter declaring themselves dictators? Where else in the world could someone get their hands and feet cut off by "rebels" aka modern day slave selling niggers eager to trade {African} human life and their resources for European imports and a pat on the back by the white man? I CAN GO ON! You account for some of the smartest and most hard working of people, yet your "native soils"/nations are also known to have the world's WORST economies. Instead of using your pea brain to focus on making things right, you are on NL writing novels. YOU say you could careless what whites think, yet your whole rant is about putting down Akatas for not being up to standards created by whites. You even decided to attack my "grammar" (on an online forum lol). Sorry o! tongue God go punish me for messing up "her majesty's language". God bless the Queen eh? tongue

Since you love to write so much "riddle me this": (AGAIN, I ask) why aren't Nigerians/Africans with the Master's Degrees/Doctorates, such as yourself, going home to develop and uplift the nation? I know why and so do you.

You say slavery is in the past and irrelevant but too daft and dumb to see the correlation and relationship between the two.

Oops. Now I am writing novels of my own... tongue

If the topic was Can you talk to your man into not leaving then I would have said yes.

You should talk to your partner and find out what is going on. Through open communication come to a middle ground of resolution like two sane adults.

No one should be on their knees begging someone to stay unless they are a patient from Yaba Left.

freecocoa: what were the questions?

To be honest with you,i don't even understand it when they say its Nigerian culture,i used to think it was more a yoruba thing cos i didn't have to kneel to beg, greet or whatever to anyone while growing up and i sure as hell haven't seen the part of my tradition that says i should kneel while begging my man, apart from kneeling down to feed him at the wedding or trado marriage,i don't get how kneeling to beg becomes my culture.huh huh huh
1. Does begging on the knee keeps a man from leaving and will he respect and love her unconditionally?
2. Why would a woman beg a man that wants to leave to stay with her?

Maybe you fell asleep during the town meeting when they were discussing the kneeling creed. Hell I don't know girl. I just think it is stup!d to beg someone to stay that doesn't want to be with me. It sure the hell isn't going to make our relationship any better knowing he wanted to leave even if he did stay.

It shouldn't never have gotten to the point where any partner have thoughts nor confessed desire to leave. If he doesn't respect you or the union of your marriage then there is nothing you can do about it. That's why couples should communicate freely and daily!

Idowuogbo: 1. Does begging on the knee keeps a man from leaving and will he respect and love her unconditionally?
Ans: No it doesn't necessarily mean the man would love her unconditionally, but in some cases it might save the marriage and also stop the feud from escalating.

2. Why would a woman beg a man that wants to leave to stay with her?
Ans:Love is blind
Bless their hearts from such pain and fuckery.

d issue is u can never say never until u are in the situation.
You stayed because you felt guilty not because she got on her knees or begged you.

Bottom line: You stayed because YOU WANTED TO. My argument is A MAN IS GOING TO LEAVE WHEN HE WANTS TO.

There is nothing to be done about it.

freecocoa: How is it possible that you could miss the part where i wrote that it could be that he has fallen out of love or is simply tired of the woman?

Are you forgetting that some women are overly stuppid when in love?the fact that she knelt down to beg him to stay does not mean he's all that,it could mean she's just too weak to let go.
Good point.
Romance › Re: He Needs A Break by MrsChima(f): 1:53pm On Mar 20, 2012
MRbrownJAY: come on!!!! thats the most generic BS that people say in r/ship.
your reply to such BS should have been: "our union is heading for a committed r/ship, possibly marriage etc, and this is what i want. is this NOT what you want or desire for this r/ship? if you need time to even THINK about such issue then we are clearly on different page here and there is no need to take a break, as i do NOT want to be with a man who needs time to decide if i am the one for him (or not), duh!"

people are so quick to lower their standards out of desperation to be in a r/ship, what else have you thought on doing to hang on to him at all cost?! the WORST possible way for someone to decide if they want to be with you (or not) is, OBVIOUSLY, away from you while mounting some club gals etc........ so you best open your mind sharp sharp!
MBJ! Get out of my mind man! angry angry grin tongue

In the first few moments, you should know if the person in front of you is worthy of your time and attention. Some people have an issue with accepting reality for what it is and moving on. Some people like to sugar things up to reduce the pain it is causing them.

Romance › Re: Can You Go Down On Your Knees To Beg A Man Not To Leave? by MrsChima(f): 1:28pm On Mar 20, 2012
Helloooooooo. . . Leaving doesn't always mean leaving the relationship or does it? It may be a serious quarrel, thoughtless use of words on the man etc. Once she realizes he error, she tries to make peace with the man. Most times, going down on the knees is a sign that she is truly sorry. . .
Lemme tell you. Kneeling is part of the Nigerian culture to appease someone, not just a man. I've seen an elderly man go down on his knees begging a young chap after he damaged his car. Kneeling is the final resort. It depends on the gravity of the offence committed! Did you not see men on this thread saying they'll kneel and beg the woman they love, just to show her how sorry they are? Does it make them less man?
A wife doesn't need to beg him if she is not at fault, but then, what if she is at fault and is trying to save her relationship? You'll ask her not to beg her man the way she deems fit? Like seriously? huh That you won't get down on your knees doesn't mean the other woman wouldn't. Kneeling may just be the last ingredient to melt a mans heart. Begging him and kneeling is not a guarantee for him to stay. but then, would you not rather exhaust all your resources to make him change his mind, if you "really" love him? It's NOT a must to kneel, but you choose to do so to show how sorry you are. At least you tried. And even when he leaves, he could have a change of heart and come back. I'm yet to see anyone that has dropped dead as a result of saying "I am sorry" in the language the man understands. Kneeling is a way of saying "I am sorry" when it comes to that extent. I wont ask any woman not to use it to try making her man stay. Hell, i've seen grown men knee walking, not minding the bruises, trying to beg the woman they love. Cultures are different. This is Nigerian Culture we talking about. . .
Nigerian culture shout once was good enough. I heard you the first time, however many of your Nigerian brothers and sisters DISAGREE with you. You guys may want to have a country meeting to iron out some miscommunication or confusion perhaps.

I have asked two direct questions and YET to get my answers.
In most cases, the man is the elder. . . undecided And even if he wasn't, Nigerian culture stipulates utmost respect from the wife. It doesn't make them less. It's just respect, and a sign of humility!
Uhmm Killz suga.......why is a wife begging her husband to say if he doesn't want to stay? Begging isn't a sign of respect and it is the epitome of desperation and out of options. A wife should't have to resort to scraping her legs to get her husband to stay especially if he doesn't want to stay. Let say she does scrap her legs begging her husband to stay and he still left then what? huh huh huh

Begging a man to stay isn't going to stop a man from leaving if he truly desires to leave.
