Hello! Please one more question..was your transcript sent to dhl by the school or did you have to take it to town to send on the school's behalf? I've been trying to get the location of dhl in Ogbomoso..

Hello everyone! I have a cousin who is really really good at playing football. He's so ambitious and yearning to take his career to the next level. The problem is he needs exposure. How can he get this? How can people with real talent be discovered? Hes willing to put himself out there...I just dont know how to help him achieve this. Any serious suggestion will be welcomed!

Hello people! Hope everyone has been fine. Good luck to all the trv hopefuls o! I have come again with my questions. For those who are already in Canada,or through with their programs, how is school like?Do you have lectures everyday Monday-Friday?What's your time table really like? And I heard you have plenty tests..how often are they really? For those who already have accommodation how easy was it?,Where did you stay initially? Price, distant to school? Etc. I know the answers will be different from school to school please peeps just share your own school and experience. I'm planning to go for PGD in BC. All info will be appreciated. Thank you!
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by MrsM: 6:59am On Mar 18, 2015
Thanks so much for this info! God bless you. However my main concern is my first degree was a 2.2 and i know canadian schools only accept 2.1 for masters hence my pgd..if I do a 1year pgd course and get good grades...i will be able to get an msc admission right?
emperoracro:

Should be, read a similar case some pages back, all u av to do is secure d masters admission, notify cic for visa extension but i tink there is a time frame, should b on their website. Its feasible.
(Yh u must apply for d extension bfor ur visa expires)
check here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-extend.asp
". If you want to extend your stay in Canada as a student, you must
complete the Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your
Stay in Canada. Check the expiry date on your study permit, and
make sure you apply before that date. You should apply for
renewal at least 30 days before your current permit expires.
Note: Children who are less than 17 years of age and studying in
Canada without a parent or legal guardian must complete and
include the Custodianship declaration (IMM 5646) with their study
permit application. See the Instructions Guide (IMM 5552) for
more information. "

Thanks so much jaylinaa! Your post was really helpful. I must admit that the schedule 1 form is giving us trouble. It keeps saying error and i cant seem to find the validate button. Maybe we'll just leave it...
jaylinaaa:
Hi,

Personally, I put all my academic certificates and other extras that weren't in the checklist under the Letter of Explanation part. You can upload them there with your police certificate too.

Okay first, have you completed the questionnaire and already been provided with a checklist? (I'm guessing you're applying online)

If you have the checklist, there's an optional part where you can find the Schedule I form. It is just above the Letter of Explanation. Please fill it. There's been a lot of debate about whether or not but just to be safe.

I hope this helps.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by MrsM: 7:34pm On Aug 23, 2014
wow thanks for the info! I'll get in touch with maple. Already on their website now. I'm working towards September 2015 for their Business Management-Human Resource 2 year course. When do you suggest I start the admission runs? I also read on their website that all international students are in their Toronto Campus and not Sarnia..would you regard that as a plus or minus? Sorry for my plenty questions sir. grin
ChriGo: ....Yes my sister....Lambton don dey form Agidi dis days grin.....Its simple....Maple helps you with the admission process which only cost N8000 (normal $50 app fee).....after getting the admission, they give you option for your visa process(Use them or do it yourself).....you no need think twice on the options grin....
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by MrsM: 7:01pm On Aug 23, 2014
Hello Oga chrigo! So you mean I must apply through Maple for Lambton?
ChriGo: ....Yes its 8 months program.....the course is open for Jan intake....No be everything dem dey update for ontariocollege....so apply to Lambton directly.....mind you, Lambton would refer you to Maple....you can use Maple for the admission process but you can package visa yourself.....

Hello sir! Please I'm interested in that province o. I just need the name. Thanks in advance! grin
Ottawaguy: Yep.that true.u can relocate to another province but the thing is some province will want u to study in their province, that way it makes it easier.I will give an example I know of a province that will allow u submit your application after 6 months of working as long as u study in their province. That same province requires peeps that studied in another province and relocated to their province to work 2 years bfor bn considered at all.

MrsM: Hello people! Thanks for your help so far. And congratulations to everyone who just got thier medical call/trv. For those who are still expectant I pray for good news soonest by Gods grace!
I have another question oo..I'm not sure if it has already been answered. Is Postgraduate diploma(pgd) the same as Graduate Certificate? Sometimes I see graduate certificate and sometimes graduate diploma. Its all confusing to me. If anyone has any info about clearing this up for me I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you! Oh I'm trying to get in for PGD Human resource management. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your comment. I'll do exactly what you advised. Thank you.
Chatters:

Apply on your own first then hubby and son can join you later. And yes he will be your dependant even though he is your sponsor. that's the way it works.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by MrsM: 8:02pm On Aug 05, 2014
Thank you so much! I'll get my visa sorted out first. In my SOP I'll just mention that I'll be leaving my son and hubby back in Nigeria. I guess this will stand as a good home tie and a reason to come back. Thank you for your comment!
akanni:
MrsM,i applied for my wife and son before i got to know much on this thread and was denied based on purpose of visit and family ties.
my advice is to go first and apply for your son and husband to come visiting after you land and this has been the advice on this thread from day 1.I don't think it matters that he is sponsoring you if he is coming to visit. My learned colleagues on this thread will give further advice i believe.this is my 2kobo contribution.cheers

Hello everyone! Hope we're all doing good today? I have a couple of questions. For people with children, did you apply with your spouse and kid/kids? I'm thinking of applying alone then bringing in my son later maybe after the first term. He has a US passport so I'm guessing this will be easy enough. My hubby will be my sponsor, can I later request for him to join me in canada as a 'dependent' when in truth I depend on him? Am I even allowed to 'file' for him while still a student? I hope my question makes sense to someone. Please help out a confused sister!
