More facts have emerged from Saturday’s arrest of Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship candidate and Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr Nsima Ekere in Abuja and his Special Assistant on Security Matters, Mr Uyo Nathaniel by the EFCC at Serendip Hotel and Apartments at No 19 Nelson Mandela Cresecent, Abuja.

Ekere, it was learnt took some bags of money to the hotel in order to bribe members of the APC Appeal Panel who were collecting petitions and testimonies from aggrieved aspirants of the party who besieged Abuja with complaints over the conduct of the party’s primaries held earlier this month.

A staff of the hotel who spoke to our reporter on grounds of anonymity claimed that Ekere personally drove the money to the hotel in Abuja using a G-Wagon and supervised it offloading.
“Its true the EFCC raided the hotel. What happened was that at about 12.25pm on Saturday, Nsima Ekere drove himself into the hotel in a G-Wagon jeep and bags which we later learnt were filled with dollars were removed from the car to one of the rooms on the second floor of the hotel. Moments later, apparently based on a tip off and we suspect it was also from one of his own aides, EFCC operatives suddenly took over the hotel and prevented everyone from Akwa Ibom State from leaving the premises”.

“His aide, one Nathaniel, took the money to the room since no committee member was ready to collect it. Some Akwa Ibom APC aspirants who were defending their petitions before the committee got to know what was happening and they started shouting ‘God will punish you. God will not allow you to be the governor’. Nsima’s ordeal worsened when the Committee Chairman on seeing bags of money started shouting and screaming, “My integrity oh. My integrity oh. My integrity oh. Don’t come and stain me oh. I don’t want any stain oh. Come and take your money oh. Please come and carry your money oh”.

Ekere got visibly angry at the stare the petitioners caused and started accusing the Appeal committee of trying to cause problems for the party”.
As at midnight of Saturday, our source said the EFCC detectives were still analysing the hotels CCTV footage to know if any one collected the bribe.
“All Akwa Ibom people who lodged in the hotel were barred by the EFCC from leaving the building”, said the source.

Taking my mind back to what happened on 30th September, 2018 where I saw police orderly attached to Mr. Udom Ekpudom shot my friend - the Etim Ekpo LGA Coordinator of MAMSA, who was, until his death, an Agent of Sen. John Udoedehe in the guber primary. Then I asked Solo in a baritone voice of Ekpo nnyóhó if God will kill DIG Ekpoudom the same way he (DIG Ekpoudom) killed Engr. Emmanuel Asuquo just because he refused to support Nsima Ekere whom the retired DIG supports; but he said ALL EVIL MEN will be punished soon.

There are lots of evil men in our State, especially in APC, that deserve to be brutally punished. They should be punished now not until they finish killing innocent citizens of the State for their inordinate ambitions.
Why should people kill for power? Why should a cabal keep tormenting and terrorizing the people? Why should certain faces keep recycling in our corridor of power? Why should we allow them to stand on our heads? Why should we keep cheering them as though they are the change and Messiahs we were waiting for? Why do some people celebrate them as the solutions to our chronic political problems whereas they are the problems...? Why do we clap for our common enemies instead of stoning them?

The State elections in Akwa Ibom today turned out to be war. Innocent voters who went out to exercise their franchise had to scamper for safety when some political thugs unleashed mayhem on the voters. Some were maimed, injured, or killed outright.

Immediately after accreditation at Uyo LGA, Ward 05 Unit 14. PDP thugs arrived in a hilux vehicle with police personnels and started shooting sporadically killing a young voter who was trying to scamper for safety. They killed the young man on the spot and succeeded in carting away the election materials.

The Governorship candidate of APC in AKWA IBOM STATE have this to say. "We have in our hands 56 already compiled results by PDP. From our sources, INEC had already given electoral materials to PDP before now. What they do is filling the original results sheet and are now going around to return them to Electoral Officers at various units. In some Units, it is reported by our field agents that NO materials and INEC officers are seen anywhere near the polling unit".
The crowd pulling APC Candidate for Akwa Ibom State, Umana Okon Umana at his Polling unit in Nsit Ubium Ndiya Ward 03-21-0004-01. Discovered that there was No result sheet for his ward. Credible sources at the unit told him that the Electoral Officer(EO) is with Sen Effiong Bob at his residence with the result sheet. He has however called for the cancellation of the entire elections in the state as there can't be any elections when there are no result sheets to record the election results. There is massive protest everywhere in Akwa Ibom State.
