The boy is in a fair bit of trouble. A player can recover from accusations of battery, assault, even rape. What is difficult to overcome is audio or video evidence of those accusations.

Reminds me of Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. His fate was sealed immediately videos of him beating his girlfriend like a drum circulated. Even after the girl forgave him and married him he never played again.

United’s owners are Americans and this kind of thing could torpedo some of their other business interests. They will quickly sacrifice Greenwood unless something miraculous comes out to exonerate him.

The England call up issue definitely makes sense in this context.

I believe the club would have been aware for some time. Maybe not the full extent but the club has had private investigators spying on players for many decades. They definitely know there are some issues around the boy.

I don’t think he will be jailed. As a first time offender and because of his age when the alleged offence took place it would most likely be a fine and community service or some other sort of suspended sentence.

The events were alleged to have taken place when he was over 18. Do you think he'll escape jail due to that?

If this is proven to be true Greenwood will be sent to jail. Career over before it properly started.

One thing I'm not sure I agree with Ralf about. I think removing CR for Maguire invited pressure from Brentford. I think adding an extra midfielder might have served us better so maybe Donny for CR would allow us abit more control in midfield. Pretty much what we did against Villa in the cup. So i'm surprised he didnt do it against Villa in the league.

We had better buy a number 6 this January or even get one on loan. Any other way is likely to end in premium tears.

I thought it was obvious that we need to sign a 6 this January but the club is wary because of the size of the squad. The squad is so bloated.

Knowing this club, they dont want to sign a player in January because they think a new manager in the summer might not want that player. And this summer could see massive changes with lots of players leaving. We have not shown we can make the smart moves regarding this squad's incoming and outgoing.

What pains me about this thread is that people always hold some guys in the team as scapegoats. How is Fred able to play with Casemiro but unable to play with Pogba?

Now, when I was talking about coaching players, I am seeing a huge decline in football abilities of Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, etc. But their counterparts in Arsenal and Chelsea are on the rise in techniques. Here you are talking about McTominay and Fred who even appear to maintain their consistency based on their level.

You're 100% right. Pogba is a huge part of the midfield issue. But he's leaving and I think its ok because it simply hasnt worked out at United. I think its best for all parties.

Greenwood needs a good talking to. He needs to look up and not shoot at every opportunity.

Apparently Maguire is injured. Bailly I think has gone to AFCON and Lindelof still recovering from covid so we could have Matic and Jones against Wolves if Varane is still not fit.
